Re: Changelings (miniatures)
Hey, fellows.
Old school minis, anyone? I've got a couple of old Apple IIe accessory boxes full of them, so I figured I'd immortalize our intrepid party in lead. Please don't be offended if your character doesn't look exactly the way you imagined, though I am basing it as much as possible on your character description and visuals.
The characters below are the ones I've picked out and in some cases modified (Grey Mouser's Blade, Telkis's Morningstar, Long Bo's Spear, etc.) in their assembled, pre-painted stage (with the exception of Vodarte and Grothnak, for whom I already had characters painted that work pretty well. Well, as soon as I get Grothnak's skin tone changed and rough up his face a bit).
Today, I did manage to finish Long Bo and his crow, but haven't had a chance to take a photo yet - I'll update as soon as I can.
This could take a while, so please don't die before I finish your mini...

Great job on the painting!
Don't die before I finish?

Re: Changelings (miniatures)
That's really impressive. I can't wait to see the orcification of Grothnak.

Re: Changelings (miniatures)
Wicked awesome!
They are basically all spot on.

I love your sense of color. All those variations of different earth tones for the Ranger, Vodarte.
And the iridescent green armor with purple accent for Grothnak! Very Erol Otus!
Can't wait to see the rest painted!

Makes me want to grab a brush and paint some figures!
Sadly, all my mini-stuff is packed up and very-very far away

Re: Changelings (miniatures)
Well done! I can't yet convince the guys in our rapid prototyping group to use their 3-D laser printer to make miniatures for me, but your rendition of Pelias is very close to what I would have picked anyway!

Re: Changelings (miniatures)
Thanks, guys. I figured since our DM was putting so much effort into this story I'd try to do my part. Anyway, once we have little figures, we can have little dioramas. and that's what's important.

Re: Changelings (miniatures)
Those are neat. I was a terrible painter when I tried way back with my lead Grenadiers. Couldn't get fine-enough lines. I have all the Gold Line box sets, all unpainted. My son plays with them now.

Ya, I thought the "little dioramas" mention was interesting and a little frightening at the same time.

So cool!
Great work. I've always thought it be fun to paint minis, but just don't have the space. These look fun.

Re: Changelings (miniatures)
Where I'm at so far - Long Bo, his Crow and Telkis.
A funny story about not dying before I finish your character: I had also picked out minis for the other campaign I'm playing in at the moment, Grognardsw's The Keep on the Borderlands. Then, suddenly, three of the characters abruptly died. I guess that means less painting for me...

Re: Changelings (miniatures)
I love it how the crow has the same exalted expression and pose as Bo himself!

Re: Changelings (miniatures)
Hey, guys. With a little prodding from our good DM I picked up the minis again! It should be just a few short months until the next one at this rate...
I give you... Pelias!
