Lubidius relays to everyone else listening "I head sounds of really shallow sounding breathing on the other side of the door. Or at least it sounds like abnormal breathing."greyarea wrote:Dune hands the ring to Gandrel and then dons the amulet.
Mean while Dune has an odd sensation of floating? Everyone looking at him can see he is clearing beginning to float off the very floor he stands on. Dune is at the moment about 6" off the floor and slowly rising.
Meanwhile back in the main room you all entered into from the stairs that lead out of the caverns. Alanis caressing a door then irritated at it being locked gets impatient steps back pulls out his want and blasts a fireball at the door. The bursts into flames the room gets hotter and blindingly bright as the fire ball takes out it's target with ease.

Eirik the Just:
The paladin nodded at Lubidius and whispered, "I sense evil beyond this door now. Ready everyone?"
Then he heard the roar of a fireball and turned to see what it was.

Alanis nods at the burning remains of the door, letting the light from the remains of the fire to light the beginnings of the entrance. The mage has a smile on his face as he nods sage like, "It is good that you have finally come to your senses and revealed yourself to me, I do not like to be kept waiting... Nor ignored!"
Does the fire illuminate the entrance behind the door at all? can he see anything?

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Beyond the door through the flames Alanis can see a Hallway that extends out to another door and also turns off to his right (left on the map.)
Eirik rolls his eyes and gets that look when you have a major headache almost as to say "what now?!"

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Gandrel walks up to the door to the hallway the golem is in and hails the party in a stage whisper
"It seems the rat disciple is about to explore the other way on his own. Ill try to stop him until you guys are ready."
He then tries the ring whilst speaking to Alanis
"Hey Alanis, I think the others may have found something through this last door in here. Shall we save that hallway you have just found until everyone is ready? By the way notice anything different about me now?"
He waits to see if the ring does indeed produce a visible effect.

Eirik the Just:
Eirik nodded with thanks to Gandrel.
The paladin checked the hall one last time. Before Dune could Knock the door with the pull ring, everyone needed to be cleared from the hall, or ready to leap into the last room with Neev and Eirik, to avoid the Stone Golem.
The Golem could fit through the door to the Summoning Room, so there was no sanctuary to be had there.
Was everyone in place?

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Gandrel when looking back down the hall the statue is in notices Dune hovering above the floor and rising towards the ceiling. This change only happened when he put on the amulet. Upon putting on the ring Gandrel does not notice much at first he tries to change Alanis's mind in going through the fireball blasted doorway in the mean time. Alanis looking back to Gandrel watches as Gandrel just vanishes from sight before his very eyes but Alanis still hears Gandrel speaking to him.
Just by wearing the items the two of you have discovered the magic abilities of the ring and amulet. Ring of Invisibility. Amulet of Levitation.
As far as everyone being in place you'd have to get the players to state if they moved into our out of the hallway and into a safer position. But if I have to I will move everyone to the position so that we can move forward.

Let's see what's behind the door Dune, Eirik & Lubidius, (unless that statue is an active golem), is in front of, if not let's head done the fireball blasted doorway.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Currently the golem is not moving it only moved last time when someone touched the pull ring. Which is the only normal means to open the door unless Alanis wants to fireball it too. Granted there are other methods that would work and not set the golem to attack.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Dune wills himself back to the floor. This could be useful. Now about this door. He casts knock on the door.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
The knock spell opens the door the golem remains still the door opens slowly and reveals something most might recognize. Clerics, paladins & mages. Recognize this to be an Imp something most evil mages and clerics have as familiars. The thing upon seeing the door open. Starts to flap it's wing to hover in the room. "My master returns?" then upon seeing Dune, Eirik and the others a look of anger washes upon it's face it points at you and says "You! You are not my master. What are you doing here?"

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Lubidius, upon seeing the creature and hearing its question, does his best to step quietly back and behind the Paladin while sheathing his sword and slipping his Bow off his shoulder. He's not sure exactly what the thing is; but as a guiding principle; he tends to leave horned, bat-winged humanoids to others....if at all possible...

The paladin would not answer the fell creature's question.
Instead, he commanded, "Who is your master?! Whom do you serve?!"

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Alanis looks at Gandrel, his confusion evident on his face, "Why would I search a place alone? Are you so foolish you would think that? Come now Gandrel, I know you may act rash sometimes but if you insist on doing things this way you will end up dead." He simply shakes his head as the mage puts on his ring and continues talking. Alanis's eyes widen for a moment before he gets a curious look, "Hmm... so you had a ring of invisibility this whole time? No wonder you see no problems will going off alone..."
He points back to the door, "By the way, the door insulted mages so I blew it up, incidentally, I made fire. What is everyone else doing? Napping?"
Alanis, a little bit of sane mixed with a lot of insane

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
The thing looks at dune a look of mockery on it's evil face "I don't serve fools who get pummeled by the golem. I serve a master more powerful than you weakling mage." then it stares a fiery hell look at Eirik "You mortal will never know. My master until she is tearing the heart from your chest." it flaps it's wings moving up higher in the room that appears to have a 15' or 20' ceailing as the main room did and so did the hallway and the other rooms, the doors themselves don't go that high.
