Dune was at 20/23 HP he is now on the floor unconscious and tenderized. No longer threatening the golem's item or location that it is protecting. The golem returns to its platform and goes back to being inanimate. Dune however is starting to bleed a bit. -3 HP. But not dead until -10.Inferno wrote:GreyWolfVT wrote: All other spells are ignored.
Sweet mother of mercy. Is Dune still standing?
Is it possible to put the pull ring back the way it was, to try to make the golem stop attacking?

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Dune gives up all of his hit points. I doubt he can cast a spell in that condition.

Eirik the Just:
The young, naive paladin was confused at what had just transpired. His head was swarming with questions, not the least of which was, "Why would so wise a wizard as he intentionally trigger a trap that could have endangered the entire party?"
The sight of the lifeless, bleeding figure of Dune stopped all the gnawing questions in his mind.
The merciful warrior sheathed his holy sword, quietly approached Dune and gently laid his hands upon him.
Gain 10 hit points, Dune.

Gandrel moves behind the party and goes back to the door that gave entry to the corridor.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Dune is at 7/23 HP. Eirik heals Dune, Gandrel goes back out of this hallway back into the main room they entered from the stairs. The party has to either continue searching the strange keep above the caves or find a place to rest.

Dune holds his aching head.
Many thanks, Eirik. I thought I had it all figured out. I hope we all don't pay for my hubris, and then trains his wand on the Golem but realizes it's inanimate.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Alanis huffs, "And yet these simpletons call me the danger to the party! Had you lot listened you would have known that the rat kings teachings follow all sorts of chapters, namely one of them being guardian constructs!" He shakes his head and puts his wand away, knowing that whatever his wand can do will have no effect on this creation.

Eirik the Just:
The young paladin accepted Dune's words with humility and without reservation.
He stood and said, "Whatever resides in that last room warranted a guardian so mighty. I know that mere treasures don't concern us, (ha ha) but perhaps a list of all those enslaved, or information we can use to overthrow the slavers... We need to gain entry to that room!
"The stone guardian will attack any who touch the pull ring. To learn the full extent of its instructions, we can try to open the door without touching the ring, or we could all attack it now with our enchanted weapons?"
Eirik looked earnestly to his friends to hear their valued ideas.
(GW: Which doorways in this hall are big/tall enough to admit the stone colossus, please? Thanks!)

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
All of the doorways are 10' high the golem is around 9' tall, but the doors are not wide enough for it to fit through unless it can fold it's wings up and even if that is possible it wouldn't fit in any of the doors Except for the one with the summoning circle in it. That door is taller and wider.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Don't make me have the golem start attacking again So what are we all doing? Dune is healed a bit there are rooms you could attempt to rest in there is yet another door at the main room from where you came out of the stairs that has not been explored.

Alanis looks around, "Who had those items that needed to be checked for magic?! Come on now! The Rat King doesn't not like tardiness!"

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Lubidus belatedly stepped out into the hall and was about to ask what all the ruckus was about when Alanis began talking. Staying silent; he went over to Dune and passed over the parchment he found in the desk, saying; "I don't know if this is important or not; but I figured you might want to have a look." Turning to the group at large he asked; "So, what's our next move?"
Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Dune inspects the parchment
Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Gandrel keeps the items hidden from Alanis and waits for Dune to be free before approaching him
