Ok. New DM post is up.

Pixie, Kiri was less than 1" from the doors, so was able to cast this round. With a 2 segment casting time, he can fit in the STR check.

Yrkoon, I rolled for Cruloc's STR check.

There seems to be a stone abutment to the immediate north of D1. Is that blocking the dogs from advancing to Cruloc's current position?

If "Yes", Cruloc will need to advance to strike.
If "No", I imagine a dog will come charging at him. Is there one heading my way?

Hey, sorry for my absence. Due to some unexpected changes out here in the "real world," I will be unable to post for a couple of weeks. Apologies to those on missions with me. Please NPC me or whatever you need to do.

Hi Yrkoon,
That triangle-circle shape is the emptied guardpost armory. It's an open spear rack, and can be moved through. However the pale circle due east from Cruloc is a large stone pillar. It will prevent Cruloc or D1 from closing to melee, unless others move. As I mentioned in my post, Dahinna is alone on the eastern front. I hope that's clear.

cast burning hands

Hey Raven,

The challenge of tight quarters continues. Amethu must advance to where Zahra and Iago currently stand. He can move 1" and cast.

The magic flame must then get past Iago or Dahinna, without having most of it go into that other pillar, east of the tunnel mouth. The battlefield will likely move during this round, but just wanted to give you a heads up about your proposed action. Thanks.

Cruloc has no DEX bonus for missile weapons - otherwise, he'd lob a flask of lit oil over Dahinna onto the hounds. I reckon a high lob would reduce the risk of hitting our thief. Does anyone have oil AND a decent DEX bonus for missiles?

It looks like Iago has a DEX of 18. Can Cruloc pass him a lit flask and have him throw it?
Grigor's DEX is also pretty high.

Not throw - lob.
I would aim for the hound behind the hound attacking Dahinna.

Sure. Unlike the tunnel behind you, the ceilings here are high.

I am unsure what Resist Fire will do for us at this moment. Our priority ought to be making sure Dahinna survives the next round so that we can get her out of the front. A couple flasks of oil lobbed over her may do the trick. Iago can throw mine. Does Grigor have oil to throw?

I we brace spears against the charging dogs, we should get to impale them at double damage if we hit. Shield wall and spears with burning oil in front.

The Resist Fire would allow someone to take less damage but fight standing in the oil.

The burning hands spell will light the oil. Why lob it? Just pool it in front of us and take a few steps back. Dogs will run into it.

How do you make a dog go woof?
Cover it with oil and light it up!

Bracing against charging dogs is a good idea, but I think the environs do not allow it. Maybe Inferno can yeah or nay the viability of that plan.

D1 already charged last round. This would have been a great idea earlier.

Everyone's actions for this round are already declared in the IC thread, and their dice rolled.

Again...
Inferno wrote: Thu Nov 18, 2021 3:17 am Everyone,

You should always feel free to coordinate actions in this thread before posting IC, if you like. :)
(emphasis added) :)

And sorry Raven, I don't allow rolls to be "banked." :(

With Zahra carving up hounds left and right, we'll have plenty of fresh meat for our bellies going forward! Assuming the Thracians don't kill us first ;)

Works for me... But war dogs like these will probably have very tough meat- we may need to boil it a while.
