Braces for the inevitable rush of guards down the corridor. He stays one side of the frame then steps out, triggers a bolt and steps back to reload.

Sheriff Yul. Handheld crossbow [1d20+3]=8+3=11 damage [1d6+2]=4+2=6

A couple of things. First off, the crossbow bolt misses.

But this is a good opportunity to review some rules from the oft-impenetrable DMG of AD&D 1e.

PCs can't roll to attack something until it's in range and line-of-sight of their weapon.

Rolls can't be "banked," i.e. save a roll and use it in a later round.

And finally, no human or demi-human can move, attack and move again in one round. But they can move and attack.

Yes that's fine. I am sure you could picture what I wanted to convey, standing by the side of the door and sniping down the passage.

The intention was to attack a creature if seen, if not a loosed shaft ricocheting off the walls does at least have the potential to halt them blindly running.

Hi Jemmus and redwarrior,

Melee combatants may move 1" and attack. So this would have to be a 'Charge,' as per the DMG. But no one can initiate a Charge against an unseen opponent. From the torture chamber, Connak and Mungo don't have line of sight to their target. So they move to close this round and may attack next round. Sorry.

Gamewise, after killing a foe, a PC may move up to 1" to advance into the dead Sleestak's former position.

In the narrow section, the Sleestak line will hold less creatures, but so will the PC's line. You can't all fit in the narrow section. If you'd like to try to advance after attacking, please indicate in your IC post.

I'm assuming Draupadi will.
