When Finver realizes the bunkroom is empty, the leather soles of his boots scuffle across the floor as he stutters his steps to a rapid halt. He turns back with urgency to Draupadi and Fiefo, who are now interposed between him and Yul, "Dead end! All clear!"

His attention is drawn to the northern entraceway beyond his fellows and a look of determination overtakes his face as he adds, "The Sheriff needs help keeping them choked in that passageway!"

He will slip between Draupadi and Fiefo to lead a charge at the incoming enemies with his war hammer on the east side of the entranceway. I realize Yul is at least 50 feet away so even at full running speed, I'm not sure how much time remaining he has to make his attack. Im including the roll here and you can adjudicate the most reasonable timing.

Maskelyn
Maskelyn slips the gold bracelet on his wrist. He stands and looks at the Sleestaks facing him.
Don't come any closer! I can do for you jokers just as easy! I'm warning you!!
He starts making mystical gestures in the air.

Mungo runs to the north entrance, smithing hammer held high. I've had more than enough of you Sleestaks! he cries, in a rather shrill mole-man voice.

Also don't know if Mungo can cover enough ground to get an attack, but rolling just in case. THAC0 18.

"But... wait... those are real sleestaks, not one of these..." says Fiefo, gesturing to the skinless creature on the floor. He breaks off and sighs as the others light into the guards.

"I guess they're our enemies now," he says. He rushes forward. Might as well try to get this over with as quickly as possible:

Fiefo, I think they were our enemies once we left the guest room. Besides, look what they did to that poor ranting Altrusian, Mungo manages to say, while savaging a Sleestak.

The City of the Sleestaks, Deep Beneath the Forbidden Zone
The Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Ten. Night? April 5th, 912 CY

Image

The ferocious Sleestaks that fill the hidden passageway are seemingly without end!

Maskelyn dons the strange gold bracelet from the wrist of the dead atrocity and threatens the insectoid-reptilians with sorcery.

Hissing, the Sleestaks open fire on him and everyone in the secret chamber of wizard-engines! Their bizarre slingshot-crossbows fill the air with deadly missiles. The adventurers miraculously evade the barrage except Yul, who is caught point blank and savagely impaled! (7hp damage!)

Without hesitation, the invaders of the secret reality charge the Sleestaks as if they were the despicable doppelganger!

Yul's blade bites deep, grievously wounding one cold-blooded warrior! (S26)

Reptilian scales withstand the onslaught of Draupadi's blessed mace! Connak and Mungo burst from the torture chamber and join the fray!

Fiefo, Finver and Ko-Nan charge the length of the room and slaughter two Sleestaks with ruthless steel! (S25, S28)

By Verne and Wells and also Crom, that's a lot of Sleestaks! Mungo shouts. He swings his smithing hammer at the reptilian before him.
Revised from casting a Chant spell (which would take too long).

Finver advances towards the doorway to stop the onrushing flow of enemies.

Two handed war hammer attack: [1d20+2]=2+2=4, damage: [1d6+2]=5+2=7

He stumbles as he leaps past fallen corpse and clumsily swings his hammer with a fierce effort that would have been devastating if it only connected! He curses in frustration at his own blundering.

The City of the Sleestaks sounds the alarm!

And behind its facade, in a reality unveiled, alien spears and reptilian scales beat back the attacks of Fiefo, Finver, Ko-Nan and Yul!

Draupadi and Mungo hammer an inhuman enemy (S29) but it does not fall! Then Connak drives his sabre through the Sleestak that Yul injured (S26), ending its life in a gruesome spray of viridian!

Maskelyn weaves a cunning deception from thin air, conjuring a distant roar among the ranks of the Sleestaks! (confusing distraction causes -1 to hit and to morale checks for all Sleestaks present, no saving throw)

Despite this, the royal guard of the Sleestak King retaliates with fury, impaling Connak and Mungo without mercy! (5hp damage each)

Finver releases a sustained growl and heaves again at the Sleestak nearest Feifo, (target will be S27). He delivers a well timed blow, but surprisingly lacks the full impact expected by the fierceness of his intent!

Two handed war hammer attack: [1d20+2]=14+2=16, damage: [1d6+2]=2+2=4

"Feifo, work together at the same target!" he urges the Rat man beside him.
