You marked off that Nella drank a waterskin and ate a ration but did not restore her 1 Hit Die. Is that accurate (i.e. she failed your hidden save roll) or an error?
Nella brings up the rear, covering the back hallway until they safely advanced. Once she gets into the same large room with the scouts and the others, she signals to Unari and Gruuthuk to advance again when they're ready.

(i.e. my hope is we are all together in the large room when they open the next door, with her near the rear door.)

Unari

Unari moves in and searches the room. She proceeds down the right hand wall first, checking for secret doors/hidy holes. Then moves around the far wall towards the door, she will skip the door and continue her search back to where she started. Once there, if she hasn't found anything she will move to the columns. Once complete she wave in her companions.

"This is too cramped. Why would someone make such rooms? No space to stretch or move. Very uncivilized." Lika is looking very restless, and the slow pace through claustrophobic rooms isn't doing her any favors. He presses up near Gruuthuk, trying to peek into the room ahead.

Pillars
In the previous room, Nella is the last to enter, closing the door behind her.

With the entire group now in the area functioning as a latrine, the baroness indicates to the scouts up ahead that it's safe to proceed. Notice given, the door between the current and next area opens slightly and Unari slinks through and disappears into the room with the pillars.



Heading straight, the halfling makes to pass between the nearest pillar and the outer wall to her right. Immediately she notices a collection of bones -- likely those of a human or humanoid -- at rest near the pillar's base. Nothing else about the wall or pillar seems unusual, however.

The halfling scout completes a full circle of the room, hugging the wall the entire time, without incident. Once she returns to the entrance, she reports the following observations:
  1. Nothing hidden is discovered along the outer walls;
  2. The collection of bones that circle the base of the first pillar are also found around the second pillar;
  3. The other door, along the far wall, is closed and does not appear to have a lock on it;
  4. There don't appear to be any furnishings in the room;
  5. Many sets of footprints -- both large and small -- are noted leading between the two doors, and between the pillars and the walls.

Aside from noting this appears to be a high-traffic area, nothing of any real significance is detected.

After getting the all-clear from Unari, Gruuthuk will enter the room, heading over to the door and listening.

Nella continues to bring up the rear, mindful of the lights that she and Lika bear to ensure that we don't spoil the scouting of Unari and Gruthuuk. She carefully closes each door behind them as they advance.

Entering the pillar chamber, she trains her practiced eye (Passive perception: 21) to the unusual circumstances. She examines the pillars and the bones that surround them as well as the tracks that lead to places on the walls instead of the doors.

Pillar Room
Nella is the last to enter the pillar room, carefully closing the door behind her. She immediately begins to survey the area with her practiced eye and nothing of note immediate jumps out at her as being extraordinary.

Xanlann and Lika continue their ongoing dialogue about the weird happenings since entering the famed dungeon.

"Mirrors in the hallway, and now someone dragged or built these pillars," the half-elf shares, squinting at the floor. "Built, I'd say."

The pillars, constructed in a white stone -- a contrast against the otherwise drab, gray walls -- do appear to have been built in this chamber.

"Interesting." Lika comments aloud. "The bones are concentrated around the pillars. I'd advise anyone to not touch the pillars."


After her intial observation proves routine, Nella takes a closer look at the pillars, and the bones surrounding them. Without making contact.


I will let you tell me if you do actually want to physically inspect them.

The baroness is able to confirm that the bones surrounding the bases of the pillars do appear humanoid... but not human.

Orc is her best guess.


Turning his attention from the pillar, the warlock stops to observe the tracks left on the floor. "Lots of traffic, but no furnishings. A sacred place, maybe? A place to honor the dead?"


The tracks are heaviest running between the door the group entered from and the door Unari and Gruuthuk are inspecting.

Hearing nothing on the other side of this opposite door, the bugbear opens it and peeks through the opening.


The rogue is able to observe another open area in the distance -- beginning after maybe twenty feet and ending another twenty feet after that. From his perspective, the area appears to continue deeper in both left and right directions, with the area to the right being more shallow, ending after an additional ten feet.

Eerily, no noise is detected and there is no hint of activity anywhere beyond the current room.

Sleeping in Armor
Sleeping in light armor has no adverse effect on the wearer, but sleeping in medium or heavy armor makes it difficult to recover fully during a long rest.

When you finish a long rest during which you slept in medium or heavy armor, you regain only one quarter of your spent Hit Dice (minimum of one die). If you have any levels of exhaustion, the rest doesn’t reduce your exhaustion level.

The bugbear will pull the door mostly closed, and whisper to the party, Don't hear or see anything. I go check. He'll slip back through the door, quietly approaching the far end of the room, alert for any enemy presence.
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. After a few moments, the bugbear slips back into the room. Pointing to the east, he says, Skeleton, no legs. Gesturing southwest, Pile of bones. To the southeast, he says, Hall. Door. He shrugs. All I saw. Heard nothing. Too quiet, don't like being there.

"Do goblinoids honor their dead?" Baroness Nella queries in response, looking at the mounded bones. Unable to decipher why the goblin tracks moved from the pillars to the bare walls, she returns her attentions to the strange white pillars. She makes a mental note so she can sketch this later. She remains unwilling to touch her flesh to the columns - she produces a jeweled dagger from the bodice of her dress and strategically pokes the pillar with it, checking for cracks, triggers, etc.

"There must be a living space with a water source somewhere in this section of the floor, remain focused on our most immediate needs," she advises Unari and Gruthuuk as they prepare to advance.
