Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
What, you don't want to return the "friendly fire" to Grothnak?

I considered having Telkis turn and fire directly at him - the way things are going it seemed like the highest chance of actually hitting the snake.Zhym wrote:What, you don't want to return the "friendly fire" to Grothnak?

Reverse randomizer psychology, I like that.ChubbyPixie wrote:I considered having Telkis turn and fire directly at him - the way things are going it seemed like the highest chance of actually hitting the snake.Zhym wrote:What, you don't want to return the "friendly fire" to Grothnak?

I forget how we do crits... double damage? Whoohoo!

Double the rolled damage, as per the (Haunted) House Rules.
Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
Just double checking, as this is the first time I've played a monk and there's a good chance I've just misinterpreted it. In the PHB it says that monks take no damage if they make their saving throw, yes? (p. 30, 3 paragraphs from the end)Inferno wrote:Map:

Starbeard, you're right! Sorry. My mistake. Thanks for reminding me.

It's time to make our annual trip down to Garycon!
I will most likely still be able to check in periodically but, if I don't, you'll know why.
Back on Monday.

Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
Hey,
Both Telkis and Grothnak have expressed their desire to get into this fight.
If Pelias and Ingrid step back and away from each other, you could grow your front to three abreast, and the zombies' front line to two abreast. This movement is so minor that I would bypass the free attack at +4 that comes with a full disengagement from combat.
Your third slot could be Telkis with either Grothnak or Moogeye behind him with a polearm.
Just a thought.

Thanks for the advice, I think we should do that.
Then it's only a single attack to post, right?

Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
Yes, please. Let's go with one round of attacks if you guys are altering your tactics. Thanks.
Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
I'm happy with having Moogeye in the second rank with a polearm. She's kind of packed away in the corner there behind Ingrid, will she have to trade spots with Telkis before he can move up?
Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
Starbeard: Sorry, I already followed your IC post and placed Moogeye next to Ingrid, as you wrote. Once I opened the map, I saw that the wide cavern could actually hold 4 across (Moogeye, Ingrid, Telkis and Pelias, with Grothnak attacking from behind Telkis as usual). So everyone was able to do what they requested IC.
Because I've rolled the dice accordingly (before your OOC post), I can't allow you to change your action. Sorry. I'll post my DM update shortly.
AleBelly: Once we changed tactics, I said let's just roll one round of attacks. Because the confusion was caused by me, next round you may opt to use your stored, second roll, or just roll again instead. Up to you. Thanks.

Re: Unspeakable Oaths (ooc and questions ll)
I saw this after I posted. I think it's fairer to use a new roll - I don't like PCs knowing the outcome of something before they take the action (even though it would really have helped here!
).

Both rolls hit. One did 1 hp of damage, the other 2.AleBelly wrote:I saw this after I posted. I think it's fairer to use a new roll - I don't like PCs knowing the outcome of something before they take the action (even though it would really have helped here!).

The dice remain cursed... except for Telkis. He must be one of them.

Pelias is such a wimpy paladin.Inferno wrote:Both rolls hit. One did 1 hp of damage, the other 2.AleBelly wrote:I saw this after I posted. No worries, I was actually asking in terms of next round, but four abreast works!Inferno wrote:Starbeard: Sorry, I already followed your IC post and placed Moogeye next to Ingrid, as you wrote. Not sure if I'd have the guts to have Moogeye attacking from a back rank anyway, seeing as how well that's been going for Grothnak and Telkis.

Inferno, you are great at finding the most hideous zombie pictures... I stopped checking the "Graven Images" gallery, because I definitely don't want to see some of them twice
