How do we know you're not a donkey-brained man?
Re: Howie's Speakeasy - "Come on in"
Hey Grognard,
I'm leaving on vacation tomorrow. Will be back Tuesday, April 7.
Please NPC my character for me while I'm gone.
After the Miskatonic U brainstorm, Archer will bring Hazradbad's maps and letters to Carter, and return the master room key.
If Carter needs any extra security transporting Hazradbad for extradition, Archer will help out.
Thanks!
Best,
Inferno

Re: Howie's Speakeasy - "Come on in"
After my summary post this morning for the Providence group of investigators, I wanted to point out that though we've been playing for five months, only six days have passed in game. In that time, you've uncovered a good deal. The PbP format can make it feel like an endless dialog and investigation, but there has been real progress. More action-oriented developments are in the wings.

Re: Howie's Speakeasy - "Come on in"
In light of the summary from our Keeper, I thought it might be helpful to discuss strategy at this point OOC, given the many avenues of investigation open to us.
For the next day (September 13), I think it prudent for most of the investigators to stay in Providence. Harold and Reg can continue their studies, as well as meeting with Dr. Randolph. Harold and Reg could go through Carcosa’s letters as well, and reach out to contacts in other cities. I’m especially interested in the letter from Hazrabad in Turkey, which is mentioned in the Pnakotic Manuscripts (almost certainly the very location that Dr. Clarke and crew are currently (err, previously? Stupid Nyarlathotep, messing with my temporal perceptions!) headed towards). Meanwhile, Isaiah and Baines will raid Club Z, hopefully learning some more about the band and/or its elusive manager.
Marius and Eddie can either head to Beantown early, or stay in Providence. They might be of some help during the raid, if Baines acquiesces to their presence. They can also track down some of the references in Carcosa’s letters from Providence.
The boy, the wino, the Circus, and the Hepcats are all in or near Boston, hopefully for at least a few days each. After finishing up in Providence, we can all meet up in Boston to follow up on the Boston leads, possibly check out the circus as a group. (I have a bad feeling about the circus!)
Darrin hasn’t encountered the rest of the Providence crew just yet, but he seems to have his own investigation well in hand. Presumably he will meet Baines and Isaiah at the raid tomorrow night. He’s currently a wanted man, so we should try to get to him before the police lock him up!
Clarke, Archer, and Finn can continue their European vacation.
What do you guys think?

Re: Howie's Speakeasy - "Come on in"
Baines is actually not joining the raid for two reasons, first he thinks it's a waste of time, he even told the new office head so and because he has a new lead.....can't talk about it though....surprise factor *waves his hand mysteriously*
And just to clarify, Baines doesn't really know about the circus
no one told him anything about it since he fought with Sharpe before, the one holding that piece of information. That's why he was gonna go to Boston with Isaiah, a fellow survivor that might put the surviving kid at ease, and pass by the wino on the way there. What are Sharpe's plans?

Re: Howie's Speakeasy - "Come on in"
That actually sounds good to me. Although do you mean September 13 or August 13? My character's timeline is still stuck in August.
To be honest, as Marius is still out on his own, I've been trying to avoid reading the other game threads, to keep the metagaming down. So, whatever the rest of you decide to do shouldn't really matter to Marius, since I'm only vaguely aware of what's going on in your arcs anyway.
Marius has enough leads to occupy himself for the next round of investigation: investigating the P.I. (I did a search for Gordon Pym in the game forum and didn't turn up anything, so I'm assuming that's a new lead), and heading out to the circus for a follow-up, or wherever Pym takes him.
Of course, that's likely to change once stuff actually starts happening.

Re: Howie's Speakeasy - "Come on in"
Good plans of action SL. The Carcosa letters add tantalizing new possibilities and connections.
Oopps, somewhere along the line I didn't sync the timeline. Marius' discovery of the bodies was in August, and his subsequent investigations up to the circus. Then let's say there was a lull and now Marius is current in time with the others. The circus is in Worcester. It is reasonable to have Eddie, an associate of Marius, join Marius (and the PI) in investigating the circus (others could certainly go as well.)
Baines may not have a choice in joining the raid... but we'll see what Garret Holmes says.
