Xhalh Vhaldharian, human 'knight'

The cloddish cavalier advances and watches, standing guard, covering Bingus and Luthon as they focus their attention upon the doors.

Lúthon continues to listen at the door, focusing on the chanting coming from the other side, and arrives at the conclusion that some sort of religious ceremony is being performed. However, with its animated moments and brief lulls which grow in intensity, he is unable to deduce with absolute certainty that it is absent any sinister undertones.

In case you missed this, Dave, did Bingus learn anything about the two doors?

There is no way to physically bar either door (to your left or straight ahead), but they could potentially be blocked. And, as the doors open inward, it would not be possible to use a rope to open one from a distance.

Good ideas, but, no. ;)

The inelegant knight errant remembered Bingus' tale and whispered, "Threat, nay. But opportunity, perchance! Uh... Methinks yonder blackguards are holding funerary rites for their vanquished brethren. Um... 'tis likely they'll be greatly distracted while we explore."

Xhalh is proud and honoured to lead the advance across the platforms east.

Rummus nods his head, hoping the ones in front agree to move. He doesn't like standing exposed with those bats hanging around building up an appetite.

Xhalh leads the group east, over the study rope bridge spanning the initial chasm filling this entrance area. The inelegant knight errant is trailed closely by Relve, with his lantern is next, then Luthon, Malfindel,Bingus, Rummus, and Dorin in order. Their progress takes them over a second, similar bridge which spans another gaping hole in the surface less than 20-feet from the initial opening. This second bridge only spans a 20-foot distance before depositing the group on the far east side of the cavern, with the passage turning due south after another equal distance.

Peering around the corner down the southern passage reveals a 30-foot long passage which appears to open into a wider area -- a room, perhaps? -- at its termination. Attached to the far southern wall, at the very edge of the lanterns light, appears to be a basin mounted a few feet off the ground. A metal clanking sound, which Bingus can frightfully identify as being the metal from the armor worn by the guards in this area, is heard just out of view to the south.

"Dagnammit!" hisses Bingus. "Them bastards stop their chantin' and come out, we're done for. Someone follow me back there. I'll hold them doors shut with my magic. Keep us from gettin' attacked from the back."

The thin mage, trembling slightly, makes his way back to the doors from which they heard chanting.

Dorin goes back with Bingus unsure just how much help he will be but does what he can for the mage.

Rummus takes a breath while over looking the bridge view. He keeps his arrow nocked, ready to fly if attacked.

"Uh... verily." The clumsy cavalier quietly grunts as he withdraws with the group. He intently keeps watch so Bingus may magically secure the chanters' door, enabling the party to have a fair fight with these evil blackguards, one front at a time.

Relve unsure what is going on not knowing if he is going this way or that tries to stay where he is at the moment.

Bingus, recognizing the sound, and understanding it to be the threat that it is, hurries the group back towards the door in the northern wall. Relve, perhaps curious by the sound, holds his position near the intersection... and finds himself standing alone, in the dark, while Bingus, who's still carrying his lantern, leads the group back the direction from they came.

Dorin, now in the lead, reaches the end of the western passage and can turn north towards the door, or south towards the exit.
