Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Neev
"I fear we have found ourselves at a crossroads. Malakon is tasked to retrieve Eirik and return with haste. The rest of us are tasked with finding and returning with the men of Tragidore. From a base villain's standpoint, if we were getting too close to their destruction, fabricate a situation to withdraw us and give them time to rebuild. On the other hand, we would be remiss if the threat to this woman is true. I think our best recourse is to continue our quest to find the men and vanquish the villain. Then we can return and cure the woman. Both tasks resolved. And if this is a ruse, it will be revealed."

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Lubidius, Human male Thief
Lubidius was rather bored by the whole situation; he didn't much care which course they took, as long as they didn't take too long making the choice. Upon seeing the newcomer flash signs; he responded back in the same 'language'. 'Paladin and Wizard VERY crazy, watch yourself'; with a subtle nod towards Alanis.
Speaking up Lubidius says; "I agree with Theodore; let's get to the bottom of this curious situation and then we can return here." He shrugs his shoulders and finishes with, "That's my vote anyway."

Thifli, Dwarf Fighter
“I trust in the fates,” Thifli grumbles to his companions. “We must honor our word and complete the task at hand. Master Malakon, here, may prove his worth by assisting us. If he gains our trust, then we should heed his words and make haste when returning to Tragidore”

Eirik the Just, paladin:
Max, Neev doesn't agree with Theodore, as per the quote above.
So, so far:
Lubidius and Theodore: go to Tragidore immediately.
Neev and Thifli: finish quest, then go to Tragidore.
Eirik said, "Perhaps this solves it. I'll go to Tragidore now, alone. All of you and Trask continue the quest. I'll ride through the night and return as quickly as I can."
Also, I'm on vacation next week, so the timing is good for Eirik to step out for a while.
He won't take Trask with him. He doesn't trust him until this gets resolved, as per the above.
Eirik said, "But if it is a ruse, then Trask is working against us, and it won't be discovered for days. We'd have an enemy in our midst for too long. We can't trust him until we reach Tragidore."ybn1197 wrote:Neev

MALAKON TRASK
Malakon smiles, apparently delighted that the good paladin will be returning to the town to help him finish his job.
" Thank you Eirik for helping me complete my job. I'd be happy to stay here an help your friends if they will have me. One last thing before you go Eirik! watch out for those old crones, there is definitely something strange about them. They gave me the chills. Be vigilant in the forest too there may be more orc's out there.

thieves' cant:
Gandrel turns again from the door, having listened to the exchange:
"well it seems a decision is already made but too my mind the sick shouldn't be left to get worse so I agree someone should check on the poor woman's."

Eirik the Just, paladin:
Eirik said to his friends with humble sincerity, "Thank you for your wise counsel. I ride now for Tragidore. Watch Trask. If he suddenly disappears, it likely means this was a ruse and you should locate him with haste.
May Pelor watch over you upon this noble quest. Fare well."
He turned to the demonsword-wielding thief before he departed. His face was chillingly serene as he softly said, "If my friends are betrayed, or harmed in any way, know that my justice will be savage and without mercy."
Eirik departed from this place, returning to his horse by the quickest path possible.
He'll ride straight through to Tragidore at top speed without stopping.
He is expecting an ambush and has his lance, for some awesome jousting fun.
If he sees Trask at any time on this journey, he'll swing first and ask questions later.
See you guys after Easter. Have a great week.

MALAKON TRASK
Malakon looks at Gandrel and says;
" Now that we have that business out of the way I must go relive my bladder. I've been holding a piss since the conversation started! If you will excuse me for but a moment.
Malakon leaves the way that he came towards the fire balled doorway. after about two minutes the sound of urine sprinkling upon the floor can be heard coming from the direction he went.

Lubidius, Human male Thief
Lubidius looks at Theodore for a moment in a confusion and then with a slight smile, he nods over at Eirik the Paladin and says; "I think you mean to travel with him", he teases his companion in a light-hearted way.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
map correction, Alanis has been at the unopened door, cooing softly to it as he unlocks and opens it for the past 2 "rounds" now.
Speaking of... I did post that he was opening the door.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
Alanis never gets the door unlocked ever so he will stand there forever. Just a friendly DM's note.

Re: Part 6: When Golem's Attack
After making sure everyone is well and good away from the door Alanis squares off against the thing, seconds tick past as he battles mentally with the cursed door, his fingerings twitching near his wand...
Like lightning Alanis grabs the wand and points it towards the door, screaming the magical words, "Vescere bracis meis!!!!"
Alanis Rod of Wonder: [1d100] = 57
54-58 Darkness, 30-ft.-diameter hemisphere, centered 30 ft. away from rod.
And suddenly the room descends into blackness, all light and sight 30 feet from the door is gone and inside the blackness Alanis can be heard yelling curses and damning the door's clever tricks.
