Hail, Well Met, What's Up

#1 Post by Psychicmachinery »

Hi folks. I'm Jim. Been playing TTRPG's since the early 90's. Started with AD&D 2E and Twilight 2000, kept playing sporadically and had some fun with VtM in the late 90's, ended up taking many years off in my mid 20's, got into a very serious Pathfinder habit about 10 years ago, including lots of PbP over on the Paizo forums. Still play and run some PF with a regular group, but really miss the gritty dungeon and hex crawls of my youth where death seemed to lurk around every corner.

Very interested in trying out some LL, DCC, Scarlet Heroes, The Burning Wheel, RuneQuest, and Ars Magica.

This looks like a really cool board and I hope to get to game with you fine people very soon.

Hey Jim, welcome!
I think you'll find folks here with many of the same lists of games as you. :) And most of them are being played, or have been played here. Woot.
Welcome and well met, hope you find a game soon! Glad you found your way here!
--Ron--
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Welcome, Jim.

You can/will almost certainly find the types of games you're looking for here. If not, there's a 'What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)' post where you can float new game ideas. I can almost guarantee there will be others that share your interest.

Welcome!
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
