Greetings, y'all!

#1 Post by werehounding »

Hey! My name is Mordechai, I'm from Dallas, TX. I've never used this site (or really been deep into PBPs before) but I saw a post on Reddit for a VTM game so decided I'd try out the forum.

I've been doing TTRPGs in general for about 11 years, give or take a bit. I've mostly done face-to-face or voice over Discord, but I've also spent about as much time doing RP as I have TTRPGs (mostly Star Trek-related, tbh). The system I'm most familiar with is D&D 5E (but I started with AD&D 1/2e - I still have some of those books lying around, too), but I also enjoy Call of Cthulhu/Delta Green, FATE, and The Sprawl RPG system. I've never gotten the chance to play them, but I'd love to play Shadowrun, Vampire: The Masquerade, Cyberpunk 2020, or others like it. I'm a huge fan of sci-fi, post-apocalyptics, urban/modern fantasy, and cyberpunk (especially games like Shadowrun which blend fantasy + cyberpunk) fan, though I can also definitely get behind a high-fantasy Tolkien-style game. I'm a long-time GM, but would love the chance to be the player (especially in a Cyberpunk, Shadowrun, or VTM game), as all the games I'm in right now are the ones I'm DMing.

Looking forwards to playing on this site!

Hi Mordechai,

That's a great bio, one we are familiar with here. :D We have (whether currently or in our history) most of those games played on Unseen Servant. Hope you get into a game soon!
Be well and be welcome,
--Ron--
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Hello! I really sympathize with the "long time DM" issue ... really glad that I've found several great DMs on this board from whom I can learn some things while enjoying being a player for a change.
Neil Gaiman: "I started imagining a world in which we replaced the phrase 'politically correct' wherever we could with 'treating other people with respect', and it made me smile."..."I know what you’re thinking now. You’re thinking 'Oh my god, that’s treating other people with respect gone mad!'"

Welcome!
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
