Beannachtaí
Greetings.
I am Stormraven, a gamer from as far back as the late 70s, with no real hiatus in my gaming to speak of.
I started with the blue book D&D, and I collect RPGs. I won't claim I have them all, but in any list of 10, I probably have at least one that would fit.
My current favorite games are Fate (Accelerated, mostly) D&D 5E, Hero 5th (though I have 6 ed and do like it), M&M3E and I'm playing around with PF 2, The Dark Eye and Mongoose Traveller.

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Welcome to the Unseen Servant!

Re: Beannachtaí
Welcome! Glad to have someone else that likes Hero rules, 5th or 6th (although I'm partial to 4th).

I've got 4th, too.VonAlric wrote:Welcome! Glad to have someone else that likes Hero rules, 5th or 6th (although I'm partial to 4th).
TBH, I've got Champions, Champions II, Champions III, 4th, 5th and 6th.
Like I said above - list out ten RPGs, odds are I'll have at least one of them.
Re: Beannachtaí
You dare me... Here are 10 RPGs I own or have owned over the years that lie on the more obscure side of things: Mega, Space Quest, Legacy (from 1978), High Fantasy, Dream Along With Me, Fifth Cycle, Reich Star, Hahlmabrea, Adventures in Fantasy, Thieves GuildStormraven wrote:I've got 4th, too.VonAlric wrote:Welcome! High Fantasy I definitely have. Adventures in Fantasy, I might have at one time.ffilz wrote:You dare me... Edit - I may be thinking of a different one than you. I know the title has been used a couple of times.
I have two (or did) with that title. One was more like a paperback book presenting a D&D esque system and setting it in a quasi-historical medieval era. The other is more modern, looking like a cross between D&D 3.5 and BRP, which I bought mostly for the artwork.

Nope. Don't tend to keep track of kickstarters, actually. There are one or two I've considered backing, but not often.VonAlric wrote:Did you back that Champions Now Kickstarter?Stormraven wrote:I've got 4th, too.VonAlric wrote:Welcome! Re: Beannachtaí
Not bad, and of course you said 1 out of 10, though I half expected you to have a few more of them... Dream Along With Me is almost a trick one... An Alarums and Excursions contributor offered it for sale, so I sent of my check and received a stack of photocopies in return. I'm not sure how it's publication time frame coincides with Champions but it's got point buy advantages and disadvantages that aren't too far from the point scale of Champions (they also mesh well with GURPS, but I know it was published before GURPS).Stormraven wrote:High Fantasy I definitely have. I figured High Fantasy, Adventures in Fantasy, and Thieve's Guild were the easiest ones.

Welcome!

You beat me to it. You were nicer than I was going to be, however. I was going to try to pick things that were obscure and/ or unpopular. And I was definitely not going to limit it to things I have owned.ffilz wrote: You dare me...

On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Oh, I tried to pick on the obscure side of things. I did feel it was only fair to limit to games I have owned though. I did pick one really obscure thing that didn't see regular publication, but I didn't list anything that was only in private distribution.Scott308 wrote:Welcome!

Re: Beannachtaí
You did do that; and based on my recollections, you probably did come up with ten I don't have. I'd have to see the cover of the Adventures in Fantasy to be sure, but if it's the one I Googled, that's not one I've owned.ffilz wrote:Oh, I tried to pick on the obscure side of things.
