Forum Request for Non-PBP Game > Is it even possible?

#1 Post by hedgeknight »

Hey folks > been awhile since I frequented these boards and I have a rather odd request. I am planning a game with some old gaming buddies who prefer gaming via email rather than by a pbp forum. I have nine players (maybe 10  ) and I would like a forum where I can archive maps, posts, character sheets, etc.
Some of the players are members here and I'd like to have private sub-forums should they wish to check in on something or send me something via PM. Is this possible to do?

I'm hoping we (as a group of players & DM) may eventually make the switch to these forums and bypass the whole email posting thing; but that may be awhile down the road, if it ever happens at all.

If this request is inappropriate here, please delete it and reply to me via PM.
Thanks!

~ Gary

Spanky Taz has had just such a forum since Dec 2015.

So...is this going to be approved?
If not, that's cool > just let me know so I can use another forum.
Thanks!

Hah hah, sorry Gary, this can totally be approved.
As Alethan said, there's definitely a precedent.

Do the whole request forum thingie, SEE HERE and tell your friends they must seriously consider PbP in the future so we can all enjoy what's going on. :D
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Sorry to jump in.

Hey Hedge! Great to see you!

This approach is interesting. Like many people here, I game from work sometimes. IT can see time logged to US. Whereas having my private email inbox open might be less of a red flag. Hmm.
