Hi! My name is Che a Webster (host of the Roleplay Rescue podcast) and I am making my first delve into PbP gaming.
I have been playing since about 1979/80 when my friend, Daniel, introduced me to Traveller. My first RPG owned was RuneQuest 2e which I stole from my father when he discarded it. I have been playing my whole life and own more games than I can count or remember. My GM experience started in earnest from about 1998 when, having moved to Nottingham (UK), I was forced to run or not play. More recently, I created a podcast to call lapsed players back to the table and have been exploring different aspects of the hobby ever since.
My goals here are to try running a PbP game, probably using Castles & Crusades or something equally simple in the first instance. I am pretty Old School in sentiment and have a preference for fantasy, SF, and the weird.
Hope you can help me get a game going and invite some friends to give it a try.
Game on?
Greetings!

Howdy!
I really like the logo for your podcast and am looking forward to having a listen to a few of the early episodes.
I also look forward to seeing what you contribute to the forums!

Re: Greetings!
So... the ten million dollar question for me is... how do I get started?
Re: Greetings!
Welcome, Che!
Good luck, and feel free to ask any questions you might have.
As for this, I would recommend poking around in the following two topics to start: The first will help you get familiar with the site; the second will be where you can find games to join. Keep in mind, new games are starting all the time, so don't get discouraged if what you're looking for isn't immediately available. And definitely feel free to express interest in or request a particular type of game; there are a lot of active players here interested in a wide variety games so finding other users interested in the same thing you are can also lead to new games being started.UbiquitousRat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 6:45 pm So... the ten million dollar question for me is... how do I get started?

It's hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.

Re: Greetings!
Welcome!
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
