Tella - Elf Mage
To Vek in a different time and place: I never thought about using the Drow magic... I have thought about snuffing Drow souls though. Their magic often loses it's potency when it comes in contact with the sun and away from subterranean power so to say. I would also view the beans as tainted magic... carries an evil aura. They might be worth something in coin though. Folks buy the oddest stuff, you know? Used chastity belts, old furniture, Drow beans that sprout giant poisonous spiders.... She will say with a slight shrug pondering a visit to the academia district pub to dampen reality.

Round 3: "The Riddle of Clangeddin"
*Although your rolls haven't been good, you guys only need ~4, to hit without bonuses or penalties. Also the wrestling table uses the number you roll as what kind of move you score, so the cool thing is you guys have ~16 different results you can get. If you needed an 18 to hit, you'd only have three results (I would probably have you roll a second time).*
Coming right back at each other, Vek moves quick and picks up Thorax once more, fending off a glancing kick, and then hurtling the dwarf into the air. Thorax falls to the ground in a quick roll, and lists his arms up to fend off the oncoming fighter!
Tantos - LV6 Fighter, THACO=15 (13), Str=18/72 +2/+3 (AC=10)
Thorax - LV5 Fighter, THACO=16 (14), Str=18/73 +2/+3 (AC=9)
Tantos: 57=>53=>49=>45
Thorax: 45=>41=>37=>33
*Guys, in order to speed things up, why don't you roll 2 initiative rolls, and 2 attack rolls this time, and I'll resolve two rounds at the same time? Unless somebody gets lucky and gets a lock, you can only do 4 damage a round, so this combat is going to take quite a few more rounds before it is over.*

Re: 7-Undermountain, Trip 3: Gratecrashers
Thorax had been waiting for Vek to fight dirty, the man's restraint what did it mean? Was he resisting evev Clangeddin's embrace? Well Thorax would put an end to that nonesense. Clangeddin would have his due. There was nothing he could do to Vek that he could not fix, but if Vek were to have this prize by Clangeddin's axe he would earn it! No more nonesense. Thorax switched styles immediately. Going from the more traditional form he transitioned into Badger style. Large or stronger made no difference, fingers, eyes, testicles, someone was about to have a bad day.

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:
Vek kept fighting in his workmanlike manner; cool and dispassionate. He found it hard to believe that he had once been a true believer, a holy warrior, like Thorax. It seemed impossible. And yet, the dwarf seemed to know peace, thought Vek.

Rounds 4&5: "The Riddle of Clangeddin"
Taking advantage of the dwarf falling to his back, Vek comes in hot reaching out to get him in a grab. Thorax rolls quicker than Vek would have expected and trips him into a leg lock (4 damage)!!! The dwarf twists Vek's leg viciously, getting him in quite the pickle (can only be broken by a gouge, or throw!). Vek tries to swing at Thorax, but from the angle he is at, he is unable to at first.
Vek tries a different strategy, and with a huge buck, he slithers and gets the dwarf by the arm, throwing him back once more! (4 damage). Vek starts to move to leap into a move to drop onto the prone dwarf, but Thorax works at Vek's sore leg, and trips him(4 damage)!! Vek goes down into the floor with Thorax, and the both of you are now fighting from the wooden boards of the Tavemple!
Tantos - LV6 Fighter, THACO=15 (13), Str=18/72 +2/+3 (AC=10)
Thorax - LV5 Fighter, THACO=16 (14), Str=18/73 +2/+3 (AC=9)
Tantos: 57=>53=>49=>45=>37
Thorax: 45=>41=>37=>33=>29
*Let's do 2 more rounds again, with initiative for each round. This is working well, and should get the battle complete first. Should we create a HP threshold? 10hp or something, and then somebody has to "tap out" *

Ganon thanks Thorax for the continual light pebble. He will then visit a jeweler to have the pebble mounted on a ring. He asks the jeweler to create a ring that looks like a single eye with a closing lid with a spring and locking mechanism. The eyeball of course being the continual like pebble.
Ganon - you will be able to find a jeweler to make this ring for you for 200gp price!
Also your appraisers figure out that each of the gems Thorax recovered is probably worth around 5000gp each!!! That is a huge haul! You are going to have to find a suitable buyer, neither of the appraisers could move gems of that size, and you didn't like the looks they were giving the Tavemple when they left either. This is a huge score for any thief!
Re: 7-Undermountain, Trip 3: Gratecrashers
Thorax is now in his element! Size advantage negated he attempts to get in as close as possible and deliver some worthy moves. Switching back to common "You want it? Earn it Vek! Whether you admit it or not you must appease Clangeddin to wrest it from me. We care not if you are dower as a Dwarf, Clangeddin may actually prefer it. Have at thee!

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:
Wrestling on the ground with him, Vek understood that the dwarf knew more than peace. He knew happiness, contentment... That which had long eluded Vek.
Envious of that inner serenity, Vek tentatively allowed himself a little of the old bloodlust, the old battle joy... He released himself, let it come back, start to overtake him....

Rounds 6 & 7 : "The Riddle of Clangeddin"
Falling to the boards of the tavern floor, Thorax grins madly and calls out to Vek "You want it? Earn it Vek! Whether you admit it or not you must appease Clangeddin to wrest it from me. We care not if you are dower as a Dwarf, Clangeddin may actually prefer it. Have at thee!" Struggling against the larger foe, he grips Vek in a headlock (4 damage)!!! Vek leans down and grips Thorax's legs with a twisting motion of his hips, but he is unable to shake Thorax's hold on his head!!! (4 damage)
Thorax maintains his headlock, gritting his teeth and sputtering at Vek to bring forth his inner warrior (5 damage!) as Vek plows him in the chin with an elbow over the dwarf's hold on his head. (4 damage) But still Thorax holds on!!!

Thorax begins to shout, "Give in to Clangeddin, submit to his will. It is the only way you can win Vek. I know you are lost, do you not hear his call? It is calling you to battle Vek. The Fat man is just the beginning. That is not the sound of your heart and blood beating in your ears, that is the sound of drums. War drums Vek. Rounds 8 & 9 : "The Riddle of Clangeddin"
Struggling and grunting to hang on Thorax tries to coax Vek into submission (6 damage!). However, Vek gouges Thorax good in the eye (4 damage!) and then with heaving arms, breaks the headlock! Blinking away tears Thorax delivers a hard kick to Vek's midsection (4 damage), then the fighters lock into a roll again. Vek slips his arm in again and gouges at Thorax's eyes once more, stopping the smaller fighter from securing another hold!

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:
Vek had found the old battle joy. For that, he was thankful to Thorax.
But then he snapped out of it; the joy and gratitude suddenly gone.
Had that been the dwarf's secret agenda?
Was that the way it was with all so-called 'holy men?'
Vek fell out of War's embrace, and the temporary release it afforded.
He determinedly tried to finish it, his way: pragmatic, grim, passionless and faithless; feeling stronger with every step... and bleaker.
