He is a bit reluctant, isn't he?

Re: Abandoned Games! Where's the Love?
I have no clue about other forums, the only other one I have ever played on is Roll20. But I have run one game here, which finished up as planned and I have been a player in several games that finished up. I am also in a couple of games now that have been running for years. I will concede that the majority end early, but if you have never played in one to finish, you are probably very new to the US or very unlucky in your game choices.
Re: Abandoned Games! Where's the Love?
Running a PbP is an ongoing experiment for me and I've introduced new methods and techniques into existing games to try and improve the flow. I consult the players unless its a minimal change that could be construed as a natural evolution.

Re: Abandoned Games! Where's the Love?
My first foray into pbp gaming was on a Yahoo Groups page and it was set in Greyhawk and we were having a good time...when the DM just disappeared! Gone! No warning or nothing, and the weird thing was I had just talked to the dude a week or so before. So, I called him up and left a message that was never returned.
My next foray into pbp was on a webpage called Online-Roleplaying.com (or .net); I can't remember. And up until a few months ago, it was still active...with very little gaming or posts, but I had a lot of gaming content on there.
Now I can't find them at all.
But, the first game I joined folded with no warning from the DM...and we were having a damn good time! So, after that, I ran my own game that lasted a few years and was a shit ton of fun!

Gary were you on AliveAndOutOfPrint.com too? That was a short lived forum that had some fun PbPs

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Are you thinking of RolePlay onLine? That's the only other space I tried gaming, and for some reason I want to say that's where you and I first ran into each other?hedgeknight wrote: ↑Wed Dec 16, 2020 6:40 pm My next foray into pbp was on a webpage called Online-Roleplaying.com (or .net); I can't remember.

Sounds like we could start a new thread called Abandoned Forums.
Re: Abandoned Games! Where's the Love?
That's what I thought too Dave, but RPoL is a hopping place. Lots of gaming, not "very little". I don't think they really have any other posting there but gaming. But their set up (sorta like other places, definitely Roll20, and Myth Weavers too maybe) is strange that you can't peruse the games, just see the games you are in.

Thank you sir! And it's coming to an end! We are in the final battle. I'm hoping to wrap things up fully by the end of December.

Very possibly. I know I was in that game, and it was fun, but I don't really remember it very well.hedgeknight wrote: ↑Fri Dec 18, 2020 3:31 pm Dave, I think we were also in Jeffrey's game together, weren't we?
