The Recreation Room (OOC)
Re: The Recreation Room (OOC)
Does it seem that we could cross the room, open the door and all pass through it in less than a minute?
Also, if the door doesn't open, does it seem we could make it back to the hall before the minute expired?

Re: The Recreation Room (OOC)
Yes, you can cross the room in 1 round, another round to get through the door beyond. So, if the door weren't to open, then you can still make it back into the hallway with 2 rounds to spare before the minute is up and the sound comes back.Inferno wrote:Does it seem that we could cross the room, open the door and all pass through it in less than a minute?

Depends, is the red shirt in the first group?Inferno wrote:Commander Nadix Ar Eth, Science Officer:
The experiment a success, Nadix says, "The weapon system targets motion, and requires one minute to recharge."
"We should cross in two groups for safety. If anything goes wrong, remain motionless. Who volunteers to cross in the first group?"

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Thanks for playing, everyone. I hope you all had a good holiday, those who had holidays this weekend.
Re: The Recreation Room (OOC)
Apologies for stalling over the holiday weekend. I'll definitely have this game moving along by tomorrow.
Re: The Recreation Room (OOC)
I've been watching episodes of the Twilight Zone and found a strong Star Trek connection to the episode "Valley of the Shadow" (1963). It's about a reporter who stumbles upon a small town in the middle of nowhere. The first Star Trek connection starts with actor James Doohan (Mr. Scott) who has just a few minutes of screen time. The further connection involves the technologies within the episode beginning with a transporter, which is shown as a small box with a connecting wire to a wand. When the device is explained how it can make things disappear and reappear it's said it can take the atoms and the spaces between and remove them and put them back together again. The second piece of Star Trek technologies is a force field. The reporter tries to drive away from the town only to be stopped with a force field. Once again the power is explained. By using a device on a large console a tight grouping of atoms can be placed to create an invisible wall. Also on that console is a replicator. Any item can be created from thin air as long as it has a punch card for it. I don't think these were new concepts of technologies. They all probably appeared in some media before but having James Doohan in the same episode with all these iconic technologies pre-Star Trek was mind-blowing.
Re: The Recreation Room (OOC)
Wow indeed. I think that may be one of the few Twilight Zone episodes I've never seen. I wonder how it slipped past my radar, what with James Doohan in it. I'll try watching that one tonight, thanks!

Endilev also recalls that the Romulan Commander had somehow developed the surprising ability to teleport herself seemingly at will during the fight.

Star, please NPC Nadix if I'm holding things up. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone.

I know I joined the game because of the posting rate and that Star Trek is awesome, but y'all make this game so much fun.
Just wanted to note that all four of you (Security, Doctor, Science Officer and GM) rock!
