Ch. 4: Onward and Downward
Re: Ch. 4: Onward and Downward
"Great work Dredd. Let's hope things keep going our way for a change",comments Abrex.
Re: Ch. 4: Onward and Downward
Dredd Doomsmith, dwarven trap-hacker:
"Hm?... Oh! Thank ye, lad," Dredd mumbled without taking his little beady eyes from the fascinating stonework he was currently scrutinizing. "'Tweren't nothing!"

Xale heals Elsa of a few of her wounds. Dredd keeps popping in and out of the bouncy room in nine-minute segments interrupted by hours of bouncing. This time, he manages to disable the alarm on the door before leaving the room. The room starts shaking about, yet again tossing coffers, chests, and furnishings about the room.

"Thank you Xale," says Elsa as the cleric applies divine healing.
"This room is a bitch," she mutters. "I should know."

Dredd Doomsmith, dwarven trap-hacker:
"Well," rumbled the dwarf. "I think I've disarmed the trap on the door. And, near as I can tell, I think it's a door and not a slime. In an hour, when the room stops shaking, we'll have nine minutes to pile through the door.
"Bitch doesn't begin to describe it," he agreed. Then, quickly: "The room. I meant the room of course."
Dredd will spend his hour eating, adding this area into his dogeared dungeon schematics, and visiting with the party, especially the other dwarf.

Re: Ch. 4: Onward and Downward
Xale waves off Elsa's thanks and talks freely with his fellow Dwarf Dredd while awaiting for the 'window' to get through the door in the trap room....
Re: Ch. 4: Onward and Downward
Abrex waits with the others and chats amongst the group as they kill time.

When the room settles down, who will enter, and who will open the door?

Malibran waits quietly and prays to his god. You think you see him peer out at the group and then the door seemingly waiting for someone brave enough to enter - but you're not sure...
Re: Ch. 4: Onward and Downward
Abrex says, "I will go in and open the door and then come back out. I'll let Dredd go back in and then check for traps again if none went off so he may search just beyond the opening before stepping through the door. If someone has a better plan Abrex adjust his or steps aside."

Dredd Doomsmith, dwarven trap-hacker:
Dredd wags his big, thick head, and readies himself to enter the room after Abrex has opened the door.Cwreando wrote:Abrex says, "I will go in and open the door and then come back out. Eduardo will follow Abrex into the room to act as cover, in case something comes rushing out when the door is opened. He'll then guard the trap-smith as he searches inside the opened door.
Re: Ch. 4: Onward and Downward
Xale adds; "Dredd, call out when you get to the other side and if all is well, we'll all rush over there either before the room starts moving or after it stops. Is this agreeable with everyone?"

Worren agrees.
Re: Ch. 4: Onward and Downward
Abrex and Eduardo venture into the room after it finally settles down again. Abrex steps up to the disarmed door, says a quick prayer to his deity, and opens it...
...only to reveal a blank wall with a small hole in it about 3' high.

Malibran sighs and shakes his head dejectedly, "Of course. A dead end. Only thing left is to scour every nook and cranny of this room for a secret passage. This whole damned place is one frustrating secret door..."
