Why would you say such a thing, Telkis?

What is this re Al a tea that you speak of?
Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
Must be some evil parallel dimension. A fake plane of existence.

Hey,
My last post went out two days ago.
I still need replies from Pelias, Mouser and Grothnak (although arguably the latter two are waiting on the others).
But more importantly...

Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
Hoom would press for the stables and then to a safe house, the couples or maybe an abandoned one. He believe the inn a bad place to be right now. Honestly if nobody had gone down in the fight he would have tossed a flask of oil with a lit wick into the place to cover their escape, but that didn't happen.
Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
See Grothnakj's previous comment about not abandoning captured territory, wanting to look around the place, and not being safer anywhere else. Also, no one ever answered Grothnak's question about where everyone else went. The PCs in the stable know where Grothnak is. Grothnak doesn't know where they are.

So, if Hoom will go anywhere except the inn, and Grothnak will only remain in the inn, may I assume we're dividing the party again?
If that's your wish, please let me know the sides so I may move this along. Thanks.

Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
It's his preference is not to return to the inn. He will be vocal about it but will go with the party even if it means going back to the inn. He will just feel uncomfortable being there.

Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
Grab some townspeople to interrogate at the inn, burn the inn down, take refuge in the couples house, interrogate. Is Charm Person or ESP possessed by a spellcaster?

Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
The inn is full of unconscious/half-dead/dead people. It needs heavy cleaning-up before we can stay there..
Maybe we can board it up, turn it into a fortress, but the townsfolk might torch it, I fear.
Moving to the house is a better idea.
But so far, in-game, one half of the party doesn't really know where the other half. So no real decision can be taken.

Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
Let's get into the inn, search it quickly, (if Grothnak hasn't already) interrogate any conscious townsfolk, and then get to the farmhouse.
Stat.

Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
Telkis will do anything if it means advancing the story. Unfortunately, he's in a stable with a dead guy on a horse and a party member he's not willing to abandon. Actually, he wouldn't be willing to abandon the dead guy either, since in this town that means fighting him as a zombie later.
Searching (quickly) then burning (or not burning) down the inn seems like a good idea. Fortifying the inn seems to serve no purpose but to trap us. Going to the couples' house is only good if we can do it in secret. So if we wait too long that's out. What if we say someone came out, told Telkis and Igrain the plan to search the inn, they drag Elden inside, do what needs to be done, then we go from there as a group? I'm seriously fine with any plan, even one I don't agree with. Even one that includes burning to death in an inn.

Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
Pelias gave the couple his word that he would look after them if they provided information. He agrees the inn should be searched, but he will want one able-bodied (i.e. more than 2 HP) party member to accompany him there. Of course, he'll go himself if need be.
Basically, he doesn't want to leave the townfolk there to awaken and attack them again, but he won't kill them either. He also agrees with Grothnak that the inn may have information.
Being a paladin is hard!

You're right. But 10 days of IC posts haven't resolved this. At this pace, it'll be at least another 10 days before you decide whether to regroup in the inn or the stable. This is just one of those things that PbP takes forever to do, and tabletop gaming can handle in moments. So I'm willing to briefly hand wave a jump cut of a minute or so of game time to get the PCs together so you can begin to debate your next steps in character, which should be really interesting.Fulci wrote:But so far, in-game, one half of the party doesn't really know where the other half. So, Fulci:
Everyone has said, either OOC or IC, that they're willing to at least briefly reenter the inn of the damned to regroup, except Ingrid. (So, please assume Pelias enters the stable with Bo and Hoom and they all say they're briefly regrouping in the inn with Grothnak. Mouser and Telkis will go, reluctantly.)
- 1) If everyone goes back into this house of horror, will Ingrid?
2) If not, does she remain in the stable or go somewhere else?
3) If she enters the inn, what does she do with Vodarte's body?

Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
You are right! Sorry...
Okay, Ingrid is ready to re-enter the inn.
Vodarte's body is a tough problem... With some help, she will carry it to the inn, and maybe lay him down in one of the rooms. She cannot hide the late Ranger well enough, so she prefers to lay him down on a bed, instead of the dirt in the stables or something.
Edit: added an IC post to reflect this!

I've just posted an update. Let's please move this discussion back to IC now, with IC dialogue, plans and actions.

Thanks, everyone.
Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
I have an urge to cast "Hold Person" on Pelias, but Ingrid is already low on spells

The paladin is gone! Quick torture interrogate the villagers.
Re: Whispers in the Darkness (ooc and questions)
Just an fyi: I seem to be settling into a pattern of posting on Monday morning, Wednesday afternoon and Friday evening.
Sorry, Fulci, that I pushed it along. Gotta keep movin'.
If you want to backcall an additional action for Ingrid, that's fine, please do so. Thanks.
