Act V Search for the Skyfish

Since things seem to be under control, Wyntar positions himself so he can watch if the ice gnomes come back out.

Seeing (Or rather NOT seeing) Blodget already invisible, Mira will redirect her spell to Xano.

Quickest. Battle. Ever.


With the four giant creatures still stuck in the force dome, the remaining pair is dealt with rather quickly and quite effectively.

Trotter nearly kills one himself with a viscous gash of his sword. Morgi happily finishes it off with his scimitar.

Blodget sneaks around silently as the last giant charges Halo and Xano. Before the beast can even get a swing in, Blodget sneaks between his legs and hacks away with his deadly sword. The blow must sever some vital arteries because blood begins to shoot out wildly in a gushing geyser and the giant suddenly collapses to the icy ground.

Halo activates his majestic magical lions but the immediate threat already seems to be well in hand.

Xano blinks, (twice) as Mira descends to touch her, suddenly turning her invisible. Mira flies back up while Xano and Wyntar keep a constant watch on the doorway that the ice gnomes disappeared into. As expected, the gnomes begin to creep back up and out of the doorway with their daggers drawn. When they see what is transpiring and that they are being observed, they immediately flee back inside.

Actions?

Still fumbling with her tinderbox, Mira glances up and sees dead Giants. That was entirely too easy, those close hear her softly say. You there, in the hut! Come out now, and explain yourselves. Come out politely, or I will put a spell on you. I will not enter there, but will send in the wicked Halflings who have slain your Giants. Choose wisely! She looks to Morgi, then shrugs as if to ask What are we gonna DO with the imprisoned Giants??

How long does your invisible wall last Morgi? Perhaps there is time for you to resummon your lightning?" the halfling says tentatively, calling Patsy and Edina to his side.

The halfling will move forward with the sunsword bared and call to the gnomes. "Your plan to slay us failed it seems. Come out now and surrender and we will be merciful, make us come and get you and it will go ill for you I fear!" the paladin says in gnomish at the entrance to the gnomes lair.

[Dram]

Xano now invisible will move beside the door that the ice gnomes went in. She whispers to Wynter. Move yourself over with Mira so that they believe that they are safe. If they ask where I went tell them that I teleported myself to safety of a cave.

Blodget, halfling thief:

The foolish young hobbit was more surprised than anyone. Back to the gnomes, mouth agape, he stood over the bloody ruin of the giant he just slayed. "...what?... he... I... who?..."

Trotter says,I will gladly go into the invisible dome and slay those giants, when the time comes.

let's question those gnomes. There is more here, I think, than meets the eye.

Morgi replies to the questions from his friends, "We have some time to play with here. Lightning is probably not our best choice, I am thinking mud. But first, let us parlay with the gnomes and try to determine intent here."

Morgi moves towards the hut and adds in some additional comments, "Come on out and talk, I have the power to smite you all as you hide in there do not doubt me. Come out and tell us what you know, now."

[OGRE MAGE]

There is no reply at all from inside the ruined building.

The invisible Xano peers inside to find only a single stairway leading down into a softly lit room of some kind.

You see no sign of the gnomes whatsoever from your vantage point at the top of the stairway.

Halo looks within. Could the Giants fit in here at all or are they too big to follow if we entered?

The giant creatures under the dome are about 12 feet tall.

I suppose they could fit inside, but they would be quite cramped.

We must deal with them first, Mira eyes the Giants within the invisible prison. The Gnomes maybe slippery, but we should not divide our strength. For the time being she stows her tinderbox and wick, and flies upward to visually reconnoiter for any more visitors.

What do you others want to do with Giants? I could use a real "stinker" of a spell on them or the fighters could go in and decimate them. Whichever we choose is acceptable by me.When Mira comes back...Well Mira, did you view any new threats on your reconnaissance flight?

Xano says I am to injured to be of any use in conbat. I am sure they wish to draw into a trap below.

Mira sees nothing but the ruins and the tower as she flies up for a higher vantage.

There are no visible threats to be seen.

Mira glides her broom down easily to the party. We seem safe enough for the now. How do we deal with these, the Giants and the Gnomes? Perhaps the Giants can be questioned? Xano, just be still for now, until you can be healed. It's to all of our advantage if you stay invisible.

Blodget, halfling thief:

The young hobbit finally regains his composure and sheathes the magic sword that slew a giant. "My oh my!" he murmurs as he walks around its massive corpse, back the way he came.

Nigh-invisible, Blodget creeps to the top of the ice gnomes' stair and peers down, looking for traps and ambushes from those naughty, sneaky, adorable, squeaky-voiced little troublemakers.

Can we get a layout of the situation please. Rock to Mud is and idea, but I am hesitant to slag the gnome caverns

Gnome caverns?

You are in a courtyard with a large fountain surrounded by ruined buildings. The 3 ice gnomes descended through a doorway and down into what looks like an old cellar. There are still four of the 12' tall creatures trapped under the force dome. There are no other threats visible. The gnomes don't come out when you call them.
I'm not sure if that's what you mean by "layout of the situation".
