Re: 8-Undermountain Trip 4 - SkullPort
I think we can afford by ship. But yeah the two dwarves and solo gnome might be able to determine that.

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:
"I don't disagree," rasped Vek. "But how do we ensure that we're following people going to the Tavemple? We need to move quickly, and don't have time for new exploration, or wrong turns."ylinett wrote:"Let us not rely too heavily on our new friend. Passage out by ship is likely to be costly. Do we have sufficient reserves? I am almost inclined to watch for a small group leaving via tunnel and follow them. It could be very useful to determine another way in and out."
Re: 8-Undermountain Trip 4 - SkullPort
Sure - it appears that Glimble has the best chance, so I'll rule you get an accurate idea of the depth on 1-5 on a d6. A roll of six will be misleading.*Perhaps Cormac, Glimble and Thorax can combine their insights and determine the direction and depth of Skullport together and receive a more accurate answer?
If you can trust the information you've been given, Skullport's tunnels lead to the third level of Undermountain, and there are likely ways to get up from there to the 2nd and 1st levels, but they could be monster ridden and treacherous. But then again, hanging out in monster ridden treacherous dungeons is what adventurers do

Detect any grade or slope in the passage they are passing through [1d6] = 5
Determine the approximate depth underground [1d6] = 5

You would say that you are roughly 400ft below ground and don't think there is any real grade in the area around the inn. You have a good bearing that the inn faces south...

Glimble "I can't speak for my dwarf friends here but my underground senses tell me that we are about 400ft below ground, the inn appears to be on a level surface and facing south."

"Just curious but, what was the plan to get out of here when we found the fatman? Did we not have a way back already planned?" Ganon say inquisitive to his comrades.

Glimble "I'm not really sure Ganon, but that make a good point. Why didn't we have a plan to get back from here before we entered the place?"

Glimble "Ah yes I forget my cousin dwarves aren't ones to like boat rides. So what'll we be doing?"

I feel we need more information before making any moves. We've been here a day. A solution may present itself if we wait and watch.

Thorax waits, perhaps Tella is right. Trouble an adventure have a way of popping up.

Glimble "In a place such as this we cannot hope to survive any encounter with that estate too many foes with too many connections we are better off seeing about joining one of those mercenary bands."

Re: 8-Undermountain Trip 4 - SkullPort
What have you all decided? Stay inside the inn for another day? Try to book passage out on a boat? Or visit the mercenary captains? Or wander about the city more?
Re: 8-Undermountain Trip 4 - SkullPort
I think we wander (generally towards the boats), but we will see where fate and Clangeddin lead.
Re: 8-Undermountain Trip 4 - SkullPort
Ok, if somebody 2nds Thorax, I'll have you guys leave your room, exit the inn, and then head down toward the docks area.
Re: 8-Undermountain Trip 4 - SkullPort
I seconded Thorax's plan.
