Gilda Ironfoot

Gilly blocks and ducks and then finally gains her footing, bringing her new pick, "Arealsar" down on her foe's head!
Footman's Pick: [1d20] = 16 Damage: [2d4+1] = 5+1 = 6

"How'd that feel ye piece o' shite!" Gilly yells, clearly enjoying this way too much.

Red lunges and tries to grab hold of some more Orc flesh...
Red Attacks: [1d20] = 10 Bite Dmg: [1d4] = 3

Tinuwen stows her bow and draws Limrîw in one smooth motion. She attacks the Mouth if she can, otherwise the nearest Orc.

To hit with Limrîw [1d20+3] = 17+3 = 20, damage with Limrîw S/M [1d6+2] = 4+2 = 6, damage with Limrîw L [1d8+2] = 2+2 = 4

If Folco can find an opening in the ranks, or stab over the top of Red, he takes a poke at one of the orcs.

Letopna Attack (+2 Shortsword) [1d20+2] = 8+2 = 10 Damage s/m [1d6+2] = 1+2 = 3 l [1d8+2] = 5+2 = 7

If not, he spends his time trying to verbally rouse and encourage any of his friends who fell under the sorcerer's spells back into action, staying clear of the huge swords of the smelly orcs.

"Friends! Do not adhere to the evil words of the spewing, foul mouth. We are your true companions, and they are your true enemies. Have you ever fought beside the likes of the evil you see before you? Stand tall and hold your ground, only then will you see the truth for what it really is!"

Vindoboduoc shakes the rattling chill out of his nerves, and sees clearly. The cold words of the cruel servant of Sauron have been like a splash of water, jolting him from sleep.

With his own cruel howl from the hills, "Dunland!", and another, unexpected cry new and uncanny to his lips, "Enedhwaith!", the White Crow raises Birr high and charges into the right flank. (O8)

Vindo Wisdom (8): [1d20] = 7

Short sword (THAC0 20): [1d20] = 1, Damage: [1d6] = 6 vs Small / [1d8] = 6 vs Large

Naruthirdor gasps slightly at the cruel, malice-ridden words of the wretched servant of the Dark Lord, and offers a few words of encouragement as he resumes his mystical invocation, tossing in the air a small bit of phosphorus.

"Hearken and take heart, fair Companions, for the very earth under our feet, Stone and Marble alike rise in fiery wrath to consume our foes! Tremble, O unworthy foes, for if Anor's light strengthens our arms, the very Flames Deep of the earth rise to consume you, in just protest to your villainy!"

Naruthirdor finishes his invocation, causing a faintly glowing, vaguely Dwarf-like shape to materialise, as if it were a spirit clad in fire from tip to toe. The Elf shouts a battle cry and instructs the shape to advance towards the Mouth's direction, as if charging to assist the Companions already engaged with the orc host protecting the Mouth of Sauron.

Naruthirdor casts Dancing Lights, causing the Dwarf-fire clad apparition to move as if charging to assist the Companions already engaged with O6-O7-O8. Idea is to break the Orcs' morale and make them thing Dwarven spirits rise to confront them!

Erebor, The Lonely Mountain, The Desolation of Smaug, Rhovanion, Middle Earth
March 24, Year One of the Fourth Age
Day Six. Midday. Misty, cold

"Back!" commands the iniquitous Mouth of Sauron! With cold dread, Elbenarin feels compelled to obey, but the valiant ranger resists the insidious yoke of mesmerizing words!

All around, the wicked spawn of Morgoth hack and hew with crude iron blades! (8hp damage to Therone!)

The Company's weapons glitter in answer!

Gilly splits an orc-shield and her enemy falls dead beneath her fearsome pick!

Elbenwin and Vindo overcome the poison whispered in their ears by the heinous Mouth. The ranger is cold and perilous now. He joins Tinuwen in charging the vile servant of Evil, and both their shimmering blades strike true!

As he crashes to the floor, the Mouth of Sauron gives a hideous, shivering cry filled with anguish and regret. Then he makes no sound ever again.

Naruthirdor the elven seemingly summons forth the fiery spirit of dwarvish vengeance from the very stones of Erebor itself!

The surviving orcs break, and ready to flee!

Glasik Ironfoot

Glasik steps over the body of a dead orc in order to finish off the lone foe on his side of the entrance. Unfortunately, he stumbles on the corpse, causing his axe to flail wildly and miss the Orc.

Gilda Ironfoot

"Get 'im, Red!" Gilly yells, seeing one of the Orcs trying to get away (O8). Red lunges after the Orc nipping at its heels.
Red Attacks: [1d20] = 12 Bite Dmg: [1d4] = 1

Her new pick dripping blood, Gilly steps over the Orc she just slew and attacks the fleeing one...
Footman's Pick: [1d20] = 8 Damage: [2d4+1] = 2+1 = 3
The beast is too fast for her and she curses its kin, its mother, and everything else she can think of.

[1d8+1] = 5+1 = 6 +3 for ranger

and shouts in elvish

There is no were for you to run orcs, you nor your wretched master. By the hand of the descendants of Elendil we will remove more than just his fingers this time around.

Folco uses the orcs sudden departure to switch weapons again, slinging a stone at the backs of any fleeing targets if he can.

Seeker Sling Bullet [1d20+8] = 11+8 = 19 Damage s/m:[1d4+3] = 4+3 = 7 l:[1d6+3] = 2+3 = 5

Naruthirdor focuses on directing the fiery apparition towards the fleeing Orcs, causing its mouth to dilate unnaturally as if it were ready to consume them alive! A hissed sneer escapes his lips as their foes break ranks and bolt away.

Erebor, The Lonely Mountain, The Desolation of Smaug, Rhovanion, Middle Earth
March 24, Year One of the Fourth Age
Day Six. Midday. Misty, cold

The twisted, malformed progeny of Morgoth are overtaken by fear and they break.

With fierce oaths of vengeance, the Company run down the fleeing orcs and smite them without mercy! The discarded banner of Mordor, black and red, is trod in the mire of its bearers' blood.

The ferocious battle is ended. Its echoes fade. The only sound now is the soft crackling of Naruthirdor's fiery apparition.

All around the heroes looms the vast silence and emptiness of lost Erebor.

Image

Its ageless, towering vaults are choked with the black fumes of Smaug.

Behind the DM Screen:
Initiative: Good: [1d6] = 6, Evil: [1d6] = 5 Good wins.
Orcs are fleeing a melee, so PCs get bonuses to hit, for striking at their backs, as per the DMG.
Rumil, Gilly, Elbenwin and Therone all hit and kill one orc each, ending the combat.
Folco won't fire into a melee, and no orcs escape the melee to give Folco a chance to attack with his sling.

Gilda Ironfoot

Gilly ventures to the right a few feet, peering into the darkness, wrinkling her nose against the stench of dragon breath. Red goes with her, sniffing for scent...

She's going to wander toward the raised area with the steps on the right side of the map.
