I was wondering about that too...

Also, I think even if we end up killing the guards, we should leave one of them alive, to hear both the chained guy's version and his.

Is there even a reason to kill them right now, if we can just bypass them? I'd prefer to have a better idea what's happening before we start killing people.

Indeed. That's why I proposed psychological terror. These guys are quite freaked out in this place.

I still think using Suggestion to get them monologuing is the most awesome thing ever.

That would be hilarious too, yes... Is Matthias in range now, after, like, getting up on his feet again?

I love the idea of Suggestion too. The flavor I went with for Mathias (beyond being a changeling from classic mythology) was kind of Jack the Ripper-in-London. However, I only have it memorized once, so we'll have to decide whether we use it here or on the Captain. The captain is almost certain to have more details of the plan, but he's more likely to resist, too. With two low-level guys, we're almost guaranteed to get one of them talking.

We'll have to worry about them behind us.
They prevent us from questioning their prisoner.
Our second wave isn't stealthy and will have to burn spells to pass them.
You and I are evil. :)

C'mon. You already killed a pentinent. It should get easier. ;)

Toying with somebody in a dark, creepy dungeon is considered pretty "evil" in my book 8-)

Oh, Mathias has no moral qualms about killing them. Particularly in a church. My only question is to tactics: your argument that the second group won't be able to bypass them makes sense, which simply leaves whether or not we use Suggestion to question them before we kill them.

Either way.
I agree with you that the Captain will know more, but has a higher ST.

I suggest we use Suggestion before killing them

The Captain might have a save against it, plus I have a slight feeling that meeting him would be a whole different story.

A rather exquisite performance! Time for Chekhov's gun to go off...

So I guess we kill one of them, maybe interrogate the other (then kill him) and interrogate the chained dude?

Just so long as the second guard can't scream his head off after we assassinate the first guard. Are we looking to use a Silence spell on this?
