Lost in the Dark
Sometimes, because of life or disinterest or whatever, folks drop out of games. Some of the people I play with on another board call this "Lost in the Dark" and the premise is as follows: the PC is not dead, but has merely slipped away to pursue his own agenda. It is possible that in the future the PC will rejoin the party, if the player gets back into the game, but for now the character simply shuffles off into the darkness.
Please note that as a general rule they will take any magic items and possessions they have, assuming they have already been distributed. However, if they are simply carrying treasure or magic items that have yet to be distributed to a party member I will rule the group now has possession of such objects.
The length of time one must be gone to be considered Lost in the Dark is generally one to two weeks, assuming no prior notice has been given for an absence. I will be fairly strict with this rule for this game, seeing as we have a waitlist and it is not fair to those waiting.
