Chapter 3: A Search Underway

[Dizlexus]

Gus:

Dismounts, bow drawn, pointed at Human Male Bandit.
Gus walks toward him, quickly, and says "You put the bow down now or we fight now! Garbonzo is hungry!"

Gus will force this person to fight, flee or surrender - - he's coming quickly -- if he gets no response at 25 feet he will attack - one can see it in his eyes.

[Dizlexus]

Clem:

"Stranger! Choose your side quickly. We are a law enforcement detachment from Lord Guido's keep. These bandit leaders must be taken there to be subject to justice."

To the Woman, Clem says, with an angry look:
"Do you wish to resist arrest?"

[Pulpatoon]

Odderick commits to the sudden new course of action and readies his halberd with more resolve. Figuring that Clem has eyes on the woman, Odderick trains his attention on HB2.

Linos dismounts, to be at a better hobbit-smashing level.

I will take over Luna Cee for now. Is there any way we can backtrack a round and say he is already dismounted at this point?

Luna Cee dismounts and tries to shield himself with his horse as best he can.

"Oh my! It looks like a brawl!"

He has his sling in hand with a bullet in the [chamber]?...dagger sheathed, but always in mind as a backup.

Garbonzo has his hand axe ready to throw, and is still on course for MB9 at a gallop. Headed for the 10' gap and then planning to turn SW toward MB9. "Give yourselves up NOW!"

Trindon is headed on the same path, but at a slower speed. He will let Garbonzo overtake him on the inside track and follow toward MB9. He is ready to chuck a javelin.


P. 53 of the MONSTER MANUAL has info for horses. Not sure if you intended horses to attack, but it says warhorses begin attacking the 2nd round of combat, as long as the rider stays mounted.... Just let me know. I don't care either way, but it may affect my strategy for combat.

Dizlexus, Gus is already about 20 feet away from HB9! Scale is 1 square = 5 feet.

Male Human Bandit (MB9):

The Male bandit seeing that 2 of the group is closing in towards him & confused as to whether the burly Elf at the rear with the 2 un-ridden horses or the Shiny Knight at the head of the group is the leader, shouts:

"Oh, alright, alright, I will drop my bow!"

[Dizlexus]

Gus:

Gus maintains tension on the bow and says to Garbonzo: "Brother, take his weapons. Bind his hands. Sounds like this guy and his girl are gonna get familiar with Lord Guido's justice system."

Garbonzo says: "Aaayeee!" (like the Fonz) He is grinning, happy that he didn't have any arrows fly at him. He's very happy that we were able to impose our will upon them. He pretty much forgets about BOC, and his current anonymity.

He continues toward MB9, grabs his rope, and dismounts with his shield and long sword in hand. He will sheath the sword and lay down the shield to bind MB9. "Now that's more like it...nice and tight." He then grabs MB9's Long Bow and gives it a good stretch. "Hello", he says diabolically.


Trindon pulls up about 10' short of MB9, but is watching BOC to see what his reaction is. He has javelin primed if anyone attacks.

Phew, that was a rush, he thinks to himself.

Luna Cee is still ducking between horses, waiting for some kind of signal that the coast is clear.

[Pulpatoon]

Linos, weapon raised, tries to corral the two halflings nearest him and calls on Father Tenebaum to get some rope and tie them up.

If the woman is now bound, Odderick will start rounding up halflings with his halberd.

Human Male Bandit (MB9):

To the other Bandits:
"Men, drop your weapons & surrender!"

Clem:


Says to the Woman,"Ma'am, will you go peacefully?"

If so, she too will have hands bound.

Clem's plan is to put the leaders on the extra horses and take them back to the keep. We should discuss what to do with the Halfling crew.

[Dizlexus]

Gus:

Gus brings an extra horse to where Garbonzo has arrested the male.

Gus asks the bandit, "What is your name?"

NB. Gus is a full blooded elf. Clem is the 1/2 elf. Pyro recalled some background well. I cast Gus as a large elf.

Gus is 100 years older than Clem. Mom was an elf.

Girl Bandit to Bro. Clem:

"Yes i will go, peacefully."


Male Bandit to Gus:

Silence.

Durgan watches as the group rounds up the bandits, he keeps an eye out for any activity.

Seeing as how the bandits have surrendered and are being arrested Boc decides to lower his bow, putting away the arrow he had as well. He then calls out to the group, "Who is the leader of this group? I wish a word."

[MonkeyWrench]

Stormbrow walks towards the mysterious Ranger, "I am the leader of this group, my name is Stormbrow Okenfell, and these..." He motions to the rest of the group, "Are my companions as we quest to save the lives of innocents, I will leave the introductions to them. May I ask your name good ranger?"

Boc looks towards the group, meeting Stormbrow's gaze. "Boc Maxima, I was hunting some creatures that were raiding a farm. They were last tracked heading to the location of the Caves of Chaos..."

Stormbrow looks among the group before regarding Boc further, "After we take these criminals in for the justice that they deserve I do not see why you cannot join us, it seems our missions are intertwined as it were... if the rest of my companions agree with this course of action of course." He then regards the rest of the group for their decisions.

Boc regards Stormbrow with a quiet gaze, his earlier actions saying more of his own ideas of justice than his words ever could, he watches the group for their answers.

Clem:

Clem binds the woman's hands. He attempts to overhear Boc and Stormbrow. The stranger afforded Clem with a perfect distraction at a wonderful time and Clem is pleased with the stranger's very presence.

Clem asks the Woman: "What Ma'am, is your name? And may I add that I am glad our parties did not go to blows."

Clem hollers over to Boc, "Good to meet you stranger!"

Clem asks for a conference: "Gentleman! He hollers, I suggest we release the Halflings. These humans appear to be the leadership."
"If we arrest the Halflings we risk overwhelming Lord Guido's jails. We also invite greater risk to both ourselves and our bandit captives if we over burden ourselves with prisoners."

[Dizlexus]

Gus, everything said in whispers

Gus mounts the new male prisoner up onto a horse with Garbonzo's help. But Gus does not ride his own horse! No! He mounts-up behind the prisoner, on the same horse, so he can whisper creepy things in the prisoner's ear. Casual observation reveals that Gus is operating at a high level of agitation. He appears to have taken the ambush personally -- way more than Clem.

Gus very slowly drives the 3 horses back to the main party. He takes time to talk crap (as usual).

Gus steams up the prisoner with his bad Mead breath, as he gets creepily close, and touches too much. He says the following:
"No name huh? Well my name is Gus. I'm from the Coffinwoods. Next time you try to get the drop on someone, make sure he ain't from the damn Coffinwoods!"

"We don't get ambushed. Your girl just got arrested by a grave robber! Ha! Not a law man, but a freak'n grave robber."

"How smart do you feel now? You got apprehended by a grave robber too. Not the big guy. Me!"

"I robbed graves. But you are far greater scum than I'll ever be. My victims, my brother's victims, they were dead. What you do is disgusting!"

"I'll be taking your purse as compensation for the stress you brought."

"What's more, if I don't know your real name, and that of your mother and father, by the time we arrive at the keep, well, I'll slit your throat and make that woman watch you bleed-out. I don't like you."

"I hope you stay silent, or attempt a lie, because, I really want to kill you."

Gus gently caresses the prisoner's cheek and then kisses that same cheek, softly, slowly.

Shushhhh, stay silent. I would rather kill you than know your name. Oh, and I have a "truth" spell. So, please, lie to me. Oh hell yes, tell me sweet lies!

Gus nibbles his ear briefly, breathing steamy breath on him, and licks his neck.

Then Gus approaches the others.

Stormbrow, with Long Sword+1, dismounted & walked over to talk to Boc Maxima.

Bro. Clem with Mace, is Tying up Girl Bandit's Hands.

Odderick with Halberd, is watching HB2, now that Bro. Clem has her.

Rondoel (Mounted), with Bow trained on & watching HB2.

Bro. Karick (Mounted), with Mace, watching HB3.

Bro. Radac (Mounted), with Mace, watching HB5.

Fr. Tenebaum (Mounted), with Mace, watching HB1.

Linos with MorningStar, watching HB4.

Luna Cee, with Sling Bullets, is laying low & watching HB6 & HB7.

Durgan (Mounted), with Spear, is watching HB7.

Trindon (Mounted), with Javelin (Note: range is 20'/40'/60'), is watching HB8, Boc Maxima, MB9.

Garbonzo, with Shield & Long Sword, is talking to & tying up Male Bandit MB9.

Gus, with Short Sword & Bow, is talking to, tying up & gathering MB9 onto horse.
