New Beginings
Re: New Beginings
Exact Location Unknown, near Kiraz.
Date Unknown. Dusk.
I am going to skip ahead over the next 2 days. No encounters one more rest at an old campsite. You have just arrived at Kiraz after a full days march.
You have arrived at Kiraz, all seems quite. The river you have been follows comes from the city itself. You are on the opposite side of the river from the stairs and the bridge is destroyed. From a distance it looks like the dwarven seal may have been broken, but you have work ahead of you to cross the river and the open air where the upper bridge was intentional destroyed. It will be dark in less than an hour. You haven't seen any sign of any life in the last 2 hours.
Please check out this video for what you see. If the link doesn't work for you let me know.

Re: New Beginings
"Crossing the river will be easy compared to that missing upper bridge..." she muses. "Keep an eye for that sword to glow as well, hmmm?"
(How wide is the river? How far across the gap at the upper bridge? Can she guess logically at a back door?)

Re: New Beginings
Lharzin knows this is the West Gate. The front door. If the door is still sealed it will require the master key or 2 lesser keys. You have a lesser key. The back door would only require a lesser key to open but you don't know its location.
The river here is narrowest where the old stone bridge used to cross. It is only about 10 feet across and the water is littered with stone from the bridge that could be used to "hop" across, but it is getting dark and the stones are all wet and likely slippery.
Above, it is harder to judge but probably 20 feet across. There was once a wooden drawbridge but from here you see no evidence of one. The landing at the top of the stairs is about 10 foot square, with no railings or side walls.

Exact Location Unknown, near Kiraz.
Date Unknown. Dusk into the night.
The decision is made to find shelter and make camp for the night. A place about 250 paces from the river offers some cover next to a stand of fir trees. Lharzin's sword shows no evidence of Orcs but everyone seems a little on edge, this place seems to unsettle everyone. A meal is eaten and watches set.
A little after the start of mid watch a howling is heard that awakens everyone from their slumber. Louder and not quite right for wolves, it sounded only once but it seemed very loud and close by. Lharzin checks her sword but it remains dark. nothing more is heard or seen for the next few minutes after the noise.
Ingram, "I have never heard anything like that before, some sort of weird Ivashu perhaps?"
An Ivashu is a monster created by the God Ilvir and set loose on the world. Some are fairly common, or at least descriptions of them are well known. But some are said to be unique and unfathomable. The place Ilvir is said to live is about 150 miles from Kiraz as the crow flies. He is the only God said to dwell on Harn. His tower and pit a major site of pilgrimages.

The Ivinian grabs his shield and axe, and remains alert.
"To close, that was." he whispers.
He listens for any sign of movement outside the camp.

Kiraz, the west gate.
Date Unknown. Dawn.
Everyone is tense and has a hard time getting back to sleep, but in the end everyone manages to get some rest. Dawn comes along soon enough with no other strange occurrences. The day is breezy and clouds seem to be thickening, rain may be coming but it hasn't started yet. It is cooler here but not yet cool enough for snow. Murgar decides it is time to seek a vision once more.
Galra's Enhancement + Focus (60) [1d100]=35
Critical Success, +50% to Prescience EML.
Skill Development roll (65) [1d100+16]=43+16=59
His Savorya convocation did not improve.
Murgar gained 1 FP, -5 to all actions.
Prescience (30+50=80) [1d100]=3
Marginal Success.
Murgar enters a trance for about a minute. When he comes out he declares, "There is great danger here, but I was not strong enough to determine where exactly. Power, ancient power like I have never encountered here permeates this place. To try to learn more would require me to rest some and then try for a much longer trance, like 10 to 12 hours long if you want me to try I can."
Murgar now has 3 FP which will require him to rest for about an hour to recover. He will be -15 at everything until he recovers them.

Arngeir uses his blessed rune stones and casts the bones. Studying them he begins to see a pattern. Great risk and great reward underlie everything. The obvious entrance is barred to you but the hidden entrance carries greater risk. The Gods are watching.
Re: New Beginings
Lharzin suddenly feels a sense of awe and power like she has only ever felt when in the presence of the Godstone at Azadmere. Ancient power resides behind the broken hole in the wall above.
