A limping Freddie gratefully crosses the threshold into the large air lock just south of Freya's current post. He is now armed with his short barreled magnum revolver either due to his shoulder injury or damage to his ACR which are both apparent. He indignantly claims "I told you he was cross!" He adds meaningfully "Be a love an' get the door - there's a terrible draft".

He looks a bit more than "battered" and may have (miraculously) survived melee with a cargo bot.

Freddie goes a bit glazed and adds "I had the measure of him but then he went an' brought his mate along...".

Ragnar stands in the doorway labelled ""Extremely Dangerous: Do NOT initiate contact" as he gives disdainful attention to the gunfire whistling down the corridor and cheerfully bids Frank ""Komdu inn og hittu hersveitina mína". Within the bloodsoaked "Medical" (it's on the ceiling) a dark haired warrior the size of Ragnar growls "Enginn setti þig í stjórnina!" His dark eyes are both those of a battle commander and a ruthless warrior. He pulls a mail shirt over his head and then greets Frank "Haraldr Sigurðarson" then sets to strapping on a sword asking flatly "Erik hvernig er axlarsárið þitt?" He addresses a red haired bull of a man who drops a blood soaked lab coat from his massive yet seemingly uninjured shoulder and grates "Það læknaðist" before turning a gaze on Frank which Frank measures as having a resting state of only "mildly murderous". The red haired giant extends a massive hand "Eiríkr Haraldsson..." he then grasps the handle of his axe and absently kicks a lab coated SuSAG corpse off it "...Blóðøx". "Freydís Eiríksdóttir" the female viking strikes Frank as his boyhood imagining of a Valkyrie. Blond, piercing blue eyes, six foot tall, paired axes stuck through the belt over her mail and with the physique any merely mortal athlete could only ever dream of... and... challengingly aggressive.

Ragnar puts on his own mail and takes up a large round shield (which Frank guesstimates to be made of contemporary polymer crystal iron - the foundation for the armour in battledress) and absently comments in Old Norse "Skipið okkar landaði okkur hér fyrir löngu á meðan við sváfum. Mig dreymdi að ég væri að veisla í salnum föður. Þessi lending var svo langt síðan að skipið sjálft var umlukið af jökli. Ég held að okkur hafi öll dreymt og svo settu þetta... arsgat fólk... okkur í líkama. Til að stinga og pota og spyrja stöðugt heimskulegra spurninga...". Ragnar Lothbrok tests the movement of his swordarm under his mail then he laughs and effortlessly slips into Imperial "What in Óðinn's name do I need to understand about my "feminine side"...???" He casually adds "I learned their language - I thought it might be useful...".

He reverts to Old Norse "Þannig að við þurfum skip og þú átt eitt. Hvað ef við tökum á þessum „litlu stelpum“ fyrir norðan?" He looks at his fellows making ready for war and asks "Höfum við samning?"

Frank's mind reels: these "Vikings" are storied legends standing before him: Ragnar himself, Hardrada - commander of the Varangian Guard, Erik Bloodaxe - raider, kinslayer and King by his own hand, Freydís (and her half(?) brother Leif) planetary explorers of renown.

It seems that on Tarsus' surface, hidden in the wild mountains there is one of the mythical colony ships from Terra itself. SuSAG seems to have found it and "revivified" colonists for entirely illegal research (of course!!! ) but somehow got an awful lot more than they anticipated...

I think we all dreamed and then these... arsehole people... put us into bodies. To prod and poke and constantly ask stupid questions..."

"So we need a ship and you have one. What if we take on those 'little girls' up north?"

"Do we have a deal?"

The "proto Swordies" heft their large round armoured body shields and flanked by Freydís Eiríksdóttir and Haraldr Sigurðarson Ragnar takes post in the centre of a "shieldwall" that, if formed, would cover a corridor while Eiríkr Haraldsson "Blóðøx" hangs back. He mutters imprecations and glowers dangerously at any stranger he sees... while talking to his axe... It seems that his individual task is "linebreaker" or the shock element of the small unit.

Kit
gurusql wrote: Mon Mar 03, 2025 7:32 am Kit replies on the tac channel, "On our way"

Kit’s team prepares for their next move with a level of focus. Each member of the team knows their role, their movements rehearsed to perfection in countless scenarios. There is no room for hesitation, no space for error. As Kit gives the signal, and they spring into motion. They’ve trained for moments like this, and the time for talk is over—action is what matters now.

Their objective is clear: head east, past the medical bay, and north of the lab. The mission is to flank whoever is tampering with Prerna, the individual or group that threatens the safety of their comrade. Kit leads the charge, his expression set with a quiet determination, his mind already calculating their path. They move swiftly but carefully, every step a calculated decision.

The team reaches a junction in the corridor where the path splits. Kit signals for the team to hold their positions, using hand gestures to indicate their next moves, wanting to make sure they will not be flanked themselves. The walls hum with the quiet buzz of ventilation systems, the faintest noise of machinery from the distant lab. But the silence in the air is almost deafening, and it only adds to the feeling of anticipation. They are ready.

Kit gives the order, and with the silent precision that only a well-trained team can possess, they move forward. The plan is in motion, and they are no longer just chasing answers - they are making their own path.
Kit moves his squad eastwards putting his support PGMP to the rear to ward off any further cargo 'bot attacks. The squad's point man moves up shadowed by Corporal Abel who leads from the front. At Kit's direction the squad drives east out of the cargo hangar and into a main facility corridor leading within another quadrant. The path east leads through an open iris valve containing a SuSAG crewman on the threshold.

The Corporal holds the squad " 'Old up - 's a booby trap innit? 'splosives up! Frame charge on this to fek up the lasers". The SEMC troopers fit the pre-prepared explosives and touch a zippo to the "fool (and vaccuum) proof" detonator neutralizing the trap before Abel leads them on. "Spikes on lads - 's gonna get naughty sharpish!" In obeyance to the coloquial command to "Fix Bayonets" the Collace villainy draw forth and check a variety of close quarter weapons ranging from actually fixing bayonets, checking the draw on those used as knives or readying an assortment of close range firearms mostly consisting of cut down sporting shotguns and a few large caliber handguns. Route One draws his barbed wire bound "street bat". "Everyone got a tool? Right let's fekkin' ave it!" The squad surge along the east west corridor forcing doors to the southern side. The first is locked and needs a few HE rounds from an ACR to destroy the mag lock. Kit can only hear the conversation within:
"Wot the fek's your ruddy game then?"
"I'm performng vital Corporate work in pain threshold research!"
"Wanker!" The flat blast of the "Collace nostrils" is followed by a scream and drawn out sobbing.
"Medic!"
"Cripes, you 'it mate?"
"Nah - step over that Canute an' do wot you can for the rat!"

The next room along reveals a sleepy and terified female prisoner who is cuffed and sent to the rear.

Abel states "We've got all the charges - we can blow in north an maybe turn the position ahead".

Seeing the logic Kit agrees [OOC: stacked Tactical successes] and as further charges are set on the iris valve at the eastern end of the corridor a similar charge is placed on the access to the Engineering space north. The northern valve is blown and Abel leads a fire team into the "flanking" compartment. Kit moves up to see one SEMC trooper staggered and the rest of the fireteam pinioning a combat armour equipped enemy in an overwhelming group melee attack. The fight is ended when Trooper Dog finally limps into the fray and jams his sawn off up under the armoured enemy's helmet and triggers both barrels.

Further prepared breaching charges are set against the iris valve the SuSAG trooper was defending and are triggered simultaneously with the charge on the eastern exit to the corridor. Blowing both valves the squad surges through to see another combat armoured SuSAG trooper who seems to have caught the worst of at least one if not both of the blasts. Meanwhile a bizarre melee has developed between Abels fire team and another armoured trooper using a half closed iris valve as a protected firing point. Trooper Dog is down while Route One wrestles the SuSAG man for his laser carbine through the fire port. " 'Old him there!" Abel and Ink seem to be in the act of delivering grenades through the improvised weapon port.

Looking through "his" blown iris valve Kit sees the above and also a figure in distinctive tiger stripe jungle camo combat armour standing back from the primary fire positions in the role of squad leader. He appears to be armed with an automatic grenade launcher. Kit reckons this soldier might be one of the original 1188th veterans who are very efficient soldiers by any measure.

He reckons the "surprise" double breach (successfully stacked Tactics and Leader rolls) may have given him and Nuts on the squad PGMP a brief tactical edge...

(OOC:

No pressure but Kit really doesn't want to knob this one up! :P

You are in Snapshot 15 second round "bullet time". So the world is your lobster. You can perform "headshots" with aimed fire at -4, two snapshots each at -2 to get multiple hits or other "cowboy" options. The hitting a small target DM is -3 why did I mention that...

NB as +ve DMs with ACR Kit will get +2 Dex bonus and +2 Autofire + Rifle skill

Abel Recon Roll:
2d6 + 3: (5 + 4) + 3 = 12 Success++
SuSAG Trooper snapshot: 2d6: (6 + 3) = 9 Hit
Trooper Dog: 1d8: 7 = 7 Right Leg
2d6: (1 + 4) = 5 Light Wound

Dog later takes a Serious Chest Wound which will be fatal without a proper Medic).[/ooc]

helvorn wrote: Sat Mar 08, 2025 4:30 am Dzofin let's out a yelp as he is grabbed by his armor handle and bodily lifted and carried into the adjacent engineering space. He is shocked by how easily he was taken by surprise and manhandled well off the ground. He goes limp as his survival instincts kick in as well as a desire to keep the woman talking. As long as she was talking he would stay alive! After a moment Dzofin recognized his captor as the customer liaison from SuSAG. He carefully sniffed the air for her scent and hesitantly wagged his tail as her tone remained level and frankly unnatural. He makes to say something as she mentions the 1188th but is cut off with another yelp as she suspends him from his neck. Further recognizing the obvious Dzofin does not take any actions that might be regarded as hostile although he does make eye contact as best as he could manage.

"I don't have any contact or information about the Study and Operations Recording Activities Group." Dzofin couldn't resist a little bit of sass. "For a study group these guys you're asking about sound like pretty bad ass. I wouldn't take you as the type to join a book club." He shrugs his shoulders in a Vargr negative motion while gasping for air. "As for Urvash Gudrun I have never been contiguous with him in time or space or both. Does he owe you money? I would be happy to tell any friends of this Urvash Gudrun you and your organization are willing to negotiate." By this time he was frantically wagging his tail and brought his hands up to his neck to try to pry a bit of breathing room from her grip. "Diversity, yes… And breathing… All good things."
Alas, Dzofin finds Ms Pestis to be immune to sass. However, she still seems to be "not killing him" as unpleasant as that "interface zone" might be...

Through semi consciousness he hears "Hey, Vargr pirate, leave that young woman alone!"*

Then "An' you just wait there, Miss... You look a lot like...".

He next gratefully enjoys a relaxation on the restriction of his airflow and the bizarre idea that Ms Pestis might be going to one arm bench press him to... no.

Dzofin hurtles towards a SuSAG crewman wearing a yellow hi-vis vacc suit** as they both vocally rail against their vectored fate.

Both "collidants" are stunned by the impact. The SuSAG man seems to gather his wits first but squanders any tactical advantage stating "Sorry about that mate. Are you alright?" He then asks "Er... are you... a pirate? That door really shouldn't be open..."

Looking towards the door Dzofin sees Prerna with T'lia in close attendance.

He can no longer see Ms Pestis in ENGINEERING.

Dzofin finds he is positioned as per the map. The door referred to by the Engineer is likely the double blast door giving access to ENGINEERING proper (SE quadrant) from the quadrant so recently invested by the advancing SEMC.

(OOC:

* Dzofin feels he could bank this and retire into a career of "sensitivity training"...

...somewhere no one shuddered when they heard the term "Kforuzeng"...

** In the Kforuzeng the hi-vis orange vac suit clad Raiding Engineers are a vital part of any properly scaled pirate enterprise. Known for literally disassembling enemy ships in action and under fire they are another Vargr "elite corps".

Tracking Kit's squad's decisive flanking move on her HUD Prerna has the scout sniper squad maintain the smokescreen and their harrassing fire through it to pin the SuSAG opposition.

Then as Kit's squad assault east she mirrors that move dashing her squad across the main north/south corridor and into the last quadrant ENGINEERING.

On entering she sees Dzofin tangled in a heap with a SuSAG Engineering crewman.

Ms Pestis is not present.

OOC: You are here (Turquoise is you, Freddie is Fuschia (of course) Killbot (current) is Angry Red):

In response to the wounded Freddie's prompt Freya moves from her console and hits the manual override to close the quadrant blast doors leading to the hangar.

She is just turning her attention to her wounded bodyguard when two massive metal paws insert themselves into the closing blast doors and begin an attempt to wrench them open!

(OOC: Apologies in advance, and please don't find me too harsh, but given your limited response to the last two action posts I had to perform something of a good faith "guesstimate" and so here you are! ;) :) )

Just off to a Wake, sorry distracted due to death of friend
Freya takes her grenade and tosses it through the door's gap just over the head of the disgruntled bot...steps back and awaits the "Bang!"

That over, she steps forward and readies her gauss rifle in case there are still signs of life.

Klaus:

Directing the 2nd team to inspect the med facilities and cover the corridor towards engineering and the fuel tank.

Klaus and his half of the squad round the corner to see Dzofin in a rather uncomfortable position.

"RELEASE HIM, NOW!"

All weapons are brought to bear ready to fire dependant on Ms Pestis action

On entering she sees Dzofin tangled in a heap with a SuSAG Engineering crewman.
(OOC: See map and Dzofin post above).
A quick clarification for all:

Ms Pestis is not present in ENGINEERING (parts thereof that you can see) when SEMC units arrive.

Only Dzofin and the SuSAG engineer are present/visible.

Apologies all for any lack of clarity...

I've edited in Ms Pestis' "evident absence" into various posts above.

"Keep moving," Prerna orders her team as she presses on past the downed Vargr to secure the Engineering section. "T'Lia, would you check him, please?"

Kit

Rifle Shot [_2d6+3]=(1+5)=6+3=9 (Rifle-2, A DEX)
Rifle Shot [_2d6+3]=(6+4)=10+3=13 (Rifle-2, A DEX)

Kit watches as the heavily armored figure steps forward, the jungle camo not exactly blending with the starship interior. The 1188th warrior, his movements calculated and precise, adjusts his grip on the ominous-looking automatic grenade launcher. Kit knows this is his only opportunity. A flurry of grenades with no cover would be fatal.

He steadies his breath, aiming carefully at the weapon, not the man. The barrels of his firearm gleam as his finger tightens around the trigger. The sound of the first shot rips through the air, followed closely by a second, both shots designed to hit the most vulnerable part of the enemy's weapon: the weak point, the trigger mechanism, or perhaps a grenade itself. Anything that might make it malfunction or worse, detonate.

After Kit fire, on his comms he will call for the medic to help Dog.
