Kit seeing that his men are defending themselves well against the 'bots will urge them to continue.

If Kit can see a terminal, knowing that wizard is trying to stop the golem he will try and get the crane to disarm itself by dropping its payload on the 'bots. If not he will join in opening fire.

Kit notes that while merc ranks are usually ephermal those in established units might need adjustment. Corporal Able leads his squad in the role of Sergeant acting as both a Junior Leader and Force Multiplier.

"Nutsy come up, come up 'ere wiv me". Kit monitors the combat by both HUD and audio feed. "Right. Target front - torch it!" He muses that a really efficient NCO allows the commander to slide off and seek our comp terminals to deal with other threats. "New target. Flankin' left. Move, move!"

He sees the robot crane drop a crate over the mobile SEMC squad but there are no casualty reports.

Finding a comp terminal Kit gains access and finds himself "unopposed" inside the system. A very much ad hoc piece of programming together with an (illegal) suspension of human recognition and safety protocols seems to have been unleashed but left unattended. He is able to restore a previous safety protocol reset and lock it in.

The overhead crane and cargo robots he can see become inert.

Frank

Frank brings his rifle to bear on the woman and attempts to enounciate clearly in case the woman's hearing is impaired by the grenades.

"Drop the pistol and you won't be harmed."

He will repeat the command clearly and slowly, but if she brings the pistol to bear on him or the others he will fire.

Frank's efforts are rewarded in that the female seems to focus on him but still seems dazed and confused. In such state she fails to register Venner's approach from her flank. With a terse "Mam'selle" he lets his rifle hang on its tactical sling, twists her pistol away with his left hand and pops her a brutal jab to the face with his right. This seems enough to tip her concussion over into unconsciousness and she collapses to the carpeted floor.

Ignis directs clear those last two rooms and the heads "Keep it moving people".

The remaining rooms are found to be empty.

The "doorkickers" have a handful of prisoners secured with "quick cuffs" and the Lounge is cleared.

Prerna, Dzofin & T'lia

Dzofin will continue to snap at the heels of the two fleeing crew using his bayonet as motivation. Seeing that the area is unoccupied he growls at the crew. "Continue through the door ahead and go to the left if you want to live. My teammates want to just frag you but I will allow you to serve me." He will continue east.

Assuming per your last that Prerna is going to funnel her team along "ENGINEERING"?

The two fearful SuSAG crew, Dzofin, Prerna the Scout Sniper team and T'lia head "east" through (Auxiliary) Engineering. As they transit they hear and those with"officer spec" HUD see the battle computer projection of rapidly placed them removed "hostile" icons in both Sensor Ops and Lounge to their south. Neither are SEMC casualties reported nor is the speed of advance of Klaus and the Colonel's teams reduced.

Dzofin sees the SuSAG humans clear the door into the broad north/south corridor and turn left as instructed. One looks relieved and dodges northwards shouting "Help - there's Vargr chasing us!" followed by "Nooo!" His female companion starts after him but is immediately struck by laser fire (from the north) and drops stone dead just over the threshold. A "whoosh" noise blends into an incohate human scream as a staggering "human torch" ablaze from the waist up now staggers southwards and back into your line of sight. The crewman collapses into merciful unconsciousness and continues to burn while now prone in the corridor.

You're still in (and not yet emerged from) the east/west corridor labelled ENGINEERING. Prerna & Co are stacked back westwards from the Green dot on the map below. The two Pink dots are the newly deceased SuSAG crew (see map below). Klaus' team are in the SENSOR OPS room south of you (showing label HOLO PIT on your map below) and Frank is in the LOUNGE room/corridor below that (on the big map).

Looking at your map the incoming fire came from the north so it's a safe assumption that the double doors two squares above the position of the bodies are open.

Prerna pings Kit on the tac channel. "We're blocked at the intersection east of Engineering by unknown forces to our north. Can you move east out of the cargo bay to engage them? I can back track to assist if needed."

Dzofin blinks as the two crewmen are cut down rather effectively. He gives the defenders high marks on firepower and lower marks on the effective use of IFF. At least the burning body will provide some smoke in the corridor. "Anyone have an anti-laser aerosol gas grenade?" He asks as he lays out four grenades on the floor in front of him. "I'm going to blind toss two explosive and two smoke grenades to the north and then sprint across to the East-West corridor just to the south of us while firing blindly to the north. If anyone has that aerosol grenade step up and throw it now or provide covering fire if you can!" Dzofin pulls the pins on two grenades (smoke & explosive) blind tosses them around the corner to the north, pulls two more pins and throws those grenades (stroke & explosive) to the north as well. With that he will let out a howl and run like a tree bat out of hell across the corridor while auto firing blindly to the north.

Kit replies on the tac channel, "On our way"

Kit’s team prepares for their next move with a level of focus. Each member of the team knows their role, their movements rehearsed to perfection in countless scenarios. There is no room for hesitation, no space for error. As Kit gives the signal, and they spring into motion. They’ve trained for moments like this, and the time for talk is over—action is what matters now.

Their objective is clear: head east, past the medical bay, and north of the lab. The mission is to flank whoever is tampering with Prerna, the individual or group that threatens the safety of their comrade. Kit leads the charge, his expression set with a quiet determination, his mind already calculating their path. They move swiftly but carefully, every step a calculated decision.

The team reaches a junction in the corridor where the path splits. Kit signals for the team to hold their positions, using hand gestures to indicate their next moves, wanting to make sure they will not be flanked themselves. The walls hum with the quiet buzz of ventilation systems, the faintest noise of machinery from the distant lab. But the silence in the air is almost deafening, and it only adds to the feeling of anticipation. They are ready.

Kit gives the order, and with the silent precision that only a well-trained team can possess, they move forward. The plan is in motion, and they are no longer just chasing answers - they are making their own path.

Frank and Klaus

Frank opens the door from the Lounge and on a tactical glance sees empty corridor but hears activity from the north. Turning his gaze northeast he can see through the window into a compartment on whose door is stenciled "Lab No Admittance" (LAB on the map). A red warning light pulses over the door which shows red "Locked" panels illuminated. Through the window Frank sees a male in "Lab coat" modded crew wear beating at the invulnerable window (linear little squares per map) with a stool. His identically attired female colleague spots Frank and silently screams at him while gesturing towards the locked Lab door. In the next instant at some inside stimulus both despairingly look up as all consuming flames blast from what could have been mistaken for an industrial fire suppression system but seems the exact opposite. Super heated flames fill every corner of the workspace and yet are perfectly contained within.

Looking north he sees what Klaus sees (and also sees Klaus).

Klaus opens the door from Sensor Ops and on a tactical glance intially sees empty corridor but, while noting Frank to his south, hears activity from the north. However his attention is immediately drawn to the room almost opposite his position - a door stencilled Medical (MEDICAL on the map). A SuSAG employee dressed in "Lab coat" modded crew wear frenziedly wrenches the door open and with a fearful glance within bolts into the corridor. Within Klaus gets a snapshot of one of the most violent and surreal brawls he's ever witnessed. He also registers that this is surely the most "naked involved" brawl he's ever witnessed. Also a fully equipped security team seem to be coming a definite second place to the nudists!

Further dialogue from inside:
"Fekksakes, one of them has an axe! We should pull bachuglurk..."
"Þú berð eins ok lítil genta!"
"What??? But... you're the "Kill Team" for fekksakes!"
"Vegið!"
"Just... killl themm!!!" (hysterical)
"Kill Team requests more units to Medical. Containment (unintelligible)".
"Óðinn!" (drawn out as a battlecry)

"Wait, wait - there's been a terrible misunderstanding!"

The SuSAG scientist skitters to a halt on seeing Klaus and babbles "Containment breach! It's a Purge Protocol failure on the "core sample" they just... metabolized... the lethal injections! Stars help us all - they're loose!!!" He collapses onto Klaus instantly slain by a missile striking the back of his head. Klaus sees that it is a contemporary tech hand axe carved with "Swordy" runes. He notes that the axe bears a neatly labelled SuSAG Labs tag "Artefact: Camping Tool" and several reference numbers now obscured by brain matter.

He thinks he sees Dzofin dart across the corridor but then a naked woman who was perfectly camouflaged against the FUEL area grabs him and effortlessly pulls him into cover / out of Klaus' line of sight (northern of the two corridors into the next quadrant. Between the area marked FUEL and MEDICAL).

And, yes, she was coincidentally almost identical to Ms Pestis in height, build and (possibly assumed) strength.

(OOC: Trans service (detecting partial Sagamaal but oddly registering a dialect from the Solomani Rim).

Both Frank and Klaus see that the corridor above Prerna's position is masked by IR "hot" smoke and anti laser aerosol. Unaimed laser fire whickers down the corridor through the smoke.

(OOC: Gents, please forgive my presumption here but I feared that I had blundered into offering you little more than the tactical option of "Well, I open the door then" which seemed to rather limit the artistry of your potential response! I've therefore assumed that you will open your respective doors and now have a little more to go on / react to. I hope this is agreeable).

While Prerna waits in command role the team improves their tactical position.

T'lia catches up from covering the rear and quickly lays a supportive hand on her wife's shoulder.

The scout sniper team embrace Dzofin's idea and produce the (TL 14 prismatic) anti laser aerosol which facilitates his plan. On cue and with range estimates guided by the available floorplans one volley of grenades follows another finally followed by the aerosol so as not to disrupt its dispersement.

Although the effects can not be observed the return fire slackens. Another burst of flame replies to the HE grenades (possibly anticipating or fearing an infantry rush) and after the smoke is established and supported by blind firing scout/observers ACRs Dzofin darts across the corridor wildly blazing away which miraculously results in a scream of pain from beyond the smoke.

Just as he's changing mags Dzofin is seized not by the humiliating scruff but something anatomically adjacent - the grab handle on the back of his armour. He was absolutely sure he was alone! As he is absolutely effortlessly dragged eastwards and into what must be a power plant area (ENGINEERING on the big map). He notes a dead SuSAG crew chief on route. He diagnoses the cause of death as being "having his head on backwards" (3+ Medic 0 ).

While suspending him off the ground Ms Yersinia Pestis speaks monotone casually over his shoulder "I am Ms Yersinia Pestis, representative of Nemo Sicarius, Executive Outcomes Division, SuSAG AG, LIC, Trin, Trin's Veil. Thank you for the opportunity of casual conversation Dzofin Vargr. Executive Outcomes Division and the SEMC are allies in our current undertaking to restructure the staffing on the Rond facility. As we are enjoying a "water cooler moment" I will advise that your colleagues have yet to encounter the remaining elements of 1188th Mercenary Lift Infantry and Drace Keening, former employee of SuSAG, whose contribution is recognized by Executive Outcomes Division".

She switches her grip now suspending Dzofin by the throat while dexterously slinging his SnubSMG to his rear "While we enjoy casual conversation in a workplace setting..." She then goes momentarily quite still before continuing "Dzofin Vargr of the SEMC please state anything that you may know of an organization known as the Study and Operations Recording Activities Group and define any relationship you have with them. Thank you".

Yersinia Pestis then recites "It is predicated with high confidence that the organization known as the Study and Operations Recording Activities Group is active within the Corporate Directorship zone recognized by the Imperium as District 268".

"It is further predicated with reduced confidence that this organization is responsible for: the degradation of Schunamann und Sohn AG market share on Collace prime and within that system due to... Redacted Data ...including the effective bankruptcy of the 268 Directorship due to the purchase of exclusive mineral rights for the less intrinsically valuable Planet 0938 local designation: Inchin". (OOC: sic. Yes, she does pronounce "Redacted Data").

"On arrival at Collace to manage the above business opportunities Nemo Sicarius, Executive Outcomes Division, SuSAG AG, LIC, Trin, Trin's Veil was served with a notice by the Zhodani Ambassador of a breach of the "Camarena Protocols" - unofficially observed by all Intelligence Agencies for the torture and murder by SuSAG sub contractors of Urvash Gudrun, an operative".

Dropping back into more conversational monotone she continues "With low confidence it is predicted that you have a profile possibly contiguous with Urvash Gudrun in both space and time. On the authority of Nemo Sicarius, Executive Outcomes Division, SuSAG AG, LIC, Trin, Trin's Veil inform them that SuSAG is willing to negotiate".

She adds "Equally if you have any information proving or disproving the true identity of Urvash Gudrun then Executive Outcomes Division, SuSAG AG, LIC, Trin, Trin's Veil would engage in a negotiation with potential for a financially rewarding outcome".

Just as he's beginning to pass out the naked Ms Pestis, now visually blending entirely with her background, gives Dzofin an utterly incongruous winning smile "Thank you for the opportunity of casual conversation and expanding inter species interlocution and diversity in the workplace".

Dzofin immediately determines Ms Pestis is phenomenally strong and possesses reactions on a par with his own which makes any "Do or Die" reaction a last resort. As she talks endlessly on a realization dawns that if she was going to kill him... she easily and effortlessly could have done so by now...

(OOC: Dzofin also has absolutely no knowledge of any such organization as she refers to. He has heard of the Zhodani - but so has everyone on Collace! Seems he's playing a Deuce and a Seven here... ).

Dzofin let's out a yelp as he is grabbed by his armor handle and bodily lifted and carried into the adjacent engineering space. He is shocked by how easily he was taken by surprise and manhandled well off the ground. He goes limp as his survival instincts kick in as well as a desire to keep the woman talking. As long as she was talking he would stay alive! After a moment Dzofin recognized his captor as the customer liaison from SuSAG. He carefully sniffed the air for her scent and hesitantly wagged his tail as her tone remained level and frankly unnatural. He makes to say something as she mentions the 1188th but is cut off with another yelp as she suspends him from his neck. Further recognizing the obvious Dzofin does not take any actions that might be regarded as hostile although he does make eye contact as best as he could manage.

"I don't have any contact or information about the Study and Operations Recording Activities Group." Dzofin couldn't resist a little bit of sass. "For a study group these guys you're asking about sound like pretty bad ass. I wouldn't take you as the type to join a book club." He shrugs his shoulders in a Vargr negative motion while gasping for air. "As for Urvash Gudrun I have never been contiguous with him in time or space or both. Does he owe you money? I would be happy to tell any friends of this Urvash Gudrun you and your organization are willing to negotiate." By this time he was frantically wagging his tail and brought his hands up to his neck to try to pry a bit of breathing room from her grip. "Diversity, yes… And breathing… All good things."

He calls in in swordy, doing his best to not throw any modernisms into his speech as best he can:

T'lia responds "Frank, your Sagamaal's likely better than mine and... uber Swordies... Well, do you think they'll pay more attention to you or me?" Maybe ask Prerna or..." He can hear her smile as she adds "Just... just take your shirt off or do something similarly macho". Her flippant tone fades as she adds "In their acquisitive greed SuSAG have brought the "Animus" of Tarsus aboard... its contained... no, manifested within what their scientists discovered as "proto Swordies". I can best describe it as really concentrated pent up Sword World... mythos... and yet it has the present ability to make itself real. You need to "manage" not fight it - especially here on Rond. I'm beginning to suspect that in Tarsus' Walds certain of the tangletrees somehow collect or naturally produce Thongamonganite. This is what fuels your people's rich folklore... and also explains its... strange habit of becoming reality".

Frank dodges las bolts fired blindly down the corridor through the smoke to the north and reaches "Medical". An armoured security man tries to bolt outwards but is grabbed by the back of his armour by a bare, heavily muscled arm. In what becomes the same movement the screaming SuSAG man's head is then propelled face first into a workbench with hyperviolent homicidal efficiency.

As relative silence descends Frank gets a reply "En, bróðir, við eigum nú þegar fangelsið!"
