Law of the Gun OOC
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
I am heading into the woods for the next week+, should be back posting regularly late December 8th or on the 9th. I might check in on a re-supply day but no guarantee. Please NPC my character(s) in the mean time.
Have a great week everyone!

Have fun in the sticks. Deer hunting?
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Thanks! Yes deer hunting and camping in the northern Adirondacks. We got about 8" of new snow. Would have been perfect except we had crazy high winds for most of the week.

Nimitz in the "Strange Pursuit" thread might be World War II Admiral Chester Nimitz's ancestor. Nimitz was from Fredericksburg, and there's a Nimitz museum there now. During the war with sugar and other shortage items (maybe coffee also?) were rationed, a plane would fly over the town and quietly drop parachutes with crates of rationed stuff....

Not in my most recent hunt, but a spike horn in early muzzleloader.
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Ooh, tender meat. Well done!
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
All meat is good meat.

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
I was wondering about about your inspiration for that name and Fredricksburg.jemmus wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 10:57 pm Nimitz in the "Strange Pursuit" thread might be World War II Admiral Chester Nimitz's ancestor. That's funny about the sugar/coffee bomber.

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
William will claim one of the Colt SAAs as his backup gun.
Re: Law of the Gun OOC
DT will ask for the Henry Rifle and all its compatible ammo (how many rounds is that? In return he’d offer his Lever Action Carbine and it’s 56 rounds to the sell pile.
He’ll also ask to temporarily hang on to one of Colt Single-action revolvers as a backup weapon until they get to Austin or wherever they will attempt the weapons sale.

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
Boot Hill doesn't break ammo down beyond the categories of Pistol, Rifle, and Shotgun. But we can do that for a "Survival/Realism mode" game if you guys would like. I posted in the House Rules thread about that.Thumper wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 2:04 am DT will ask for the Henry Rifle and all its compatible ammo (how many rounds is that? Re: Law of the Gun OOC
I would like to say that we might want to fight for the cash, right?
Doos thinks we have a good case to keep it.
GM: what do you think?

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
With his Law skill, Doos knows that generally in Texas the cash is the property of the original owners. But how much of it was originally owned by Wells Fargo or its passengers? And how much was owned by the robbers-rustlers (however they came by it)? It's kind of a moot question, because the group does have a claim to either. But you could argue that it does in court. With a good Law rolls by Doos and/or William (and/or a hired lawyer), you might win.

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
is a single action revolver better than a double action?
if so, Andreas would like one as part of his share of the loot/reward

Re: Law of the Gun OOC
SAR is slightly faster in a gun battle/shootout (fast vs average…in getting the first shot off) and can be fired repeatedly at a faster rate by “fanning the hammer”cybersavant wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 7:00 am is a single action revolver better than a double action?

They are less “Hammer safe” in reality, but that really doesn’t count in n these rules as written.
