Once he has bearings and a surface coordinate, he’ll reverse back to his man cave then reluctantly move off to find his friends.

The suit is going crazy, red warnings luridly blaring that just about every system has failed and suit integrity is comprised. Your faceplate is badly cracked, and you're sinking. The grav harness offline. Is that water flowing into your suit? Sure feels like it.

Teleportation requires pre-knowledge of where you are going. You don't even know which direction is up or down, much less what is out there. You would have figured that out in your final moments.
