Busy Dad need to go back to RPG
Busy Dad need to go back to RPG
Hi Guys ! My name is David and i'm 41 yo from Canada (Quebec). I'm looking for a new home for my PbP RPG games and ideas. My research brought me here so I decided to try and register. Btw, I speak english ok but my 1st language is French.
Im looking for people that are somewhat like me, who prefer slow pace but fun campaigns. If im DMing (which is 100% what I do), I expect players to be comprehensive and fully commited. If I find the right game, I would really like to try and be a player.
I can play WoD, nWoD, 3.5e and 5e, but right now im really interested in lite-rules systems, like TinyD6, World of Dungeons, 24XX... I dont like Fantasy much, would prefer Far West / Weird West / Western, Sci Fi, Military or Super Sentai.
Hope to be a part of the Unseen Servant family soon !

Welcome, David. Glad to have you on board.
You’re definitely in the right place for play-by-post gaming. This is a great site, with a great community.

Hey David, welcome!
Your English is fine, and if you mess up no one will be upset. The best advice I can give is look at games and see what you'd be interested in. From your list, here are some to consider:
tibbius loves to run 24XX and has written games based off it. He's currently running an Ouroboros OSR game.
tiglath is running the 268 Traveller game, and atpollard is running another Traveller game for your sci-fi options.
jemmus is running a Boot Hill game and may have spots open.
max_vale has been running versions of d6 for a long time; check out the Star Wars and Supers games.

Greetings and welcome.
As stated, I run a Traveller game based on "Rule 68A" ... it doesn't get much more Rules-Light that "Roll 2D6: 6+ for easy task, 8+ for average task, 10+ for hard task" (10 = A in Hexadecimal notation, thus the name 68A). So you are certainly welcome if BACKWATER seems like something you might be interested in.
If that's not what you are looking for, there are a LOT of great games and GMs on US.

Welcome David!
Confirming that we do have a spot (or spots) open in the Boot Hill game. Actually it has broken into two games: bounty hunters (the main group) and Indian fighting Army scouts. Boot Hill is Western, of course, but it's not rules-lite. It's pretty crunchy, actually. But we've been at it for two years now, so we've pretty much got it down.

Welcome!
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Welcome David, I loved Quebec when I was there, many years ago.
