Re: OOC II
I mean the outpost could also be turned into a waystation, tavern, inn & stables. Just sayin.

Re: OOC II
Yup, lots of options. The main thing it can't do is be the center of a farming village. Chysbia exports food, and that's why Gerolt wants to focus on Darcen. If we just focused on the outpost, someone else could claim it, or just take it.
In the really long term, it will be an outpost on the path to Azadmere. Dwarves can come as close to Burzyn as they like, but many may prefer to meet humans at the outpost.

Re: OOC II
Gerolt was trying to avoid the topic, but it seemed like we would not have gotten the baron's support without showing that Eldura's words were true. That's why Gerolt mentioned that the outpost was outside of Chysbia proper, and that the Dwarves would be interested in it.
Re: OOC II
Ooh, a griffin hunt
While I remember, here is my skill improvement roll for the casting of Tongues:
Percentage: [1d100]=10
No luck.

Re: OOC II
Okay, a few questions.
Does Gerolt actually know much about Jebril Rythal? Things like "good baron", or "total lush"? Does Jebril know, or know of, Gerolt? How about Marak and Balesir, the hunting troupe?
This seems like a win for the team, hob-knobbing with the elite. Sort of like playing golf with the CEO; it may open doors. Of course, he may just be trying to take us out of the way and kill us all. "Gosh, the griffen ate them, but we got our vengence on it...". I'm hoping it's more of the former situation.
Of course, griffens have wings and Gerolt doesn't even own a bow.

Re: OOC II
Jebril is to new as baron to really know if he is good at it yet. But his heart seems to be in the right place but less patient then his father, the first baron. Marak is the MArshal (head of the military) for all of Chybisa and Balesir is the heir to the throne. Jebril and Balesir are known friends/allies. That Balesir is on the outs with his father and it is common knowledge, they disagree on how to handle Melderyn and Kaldor. Jebril is Balesir's biggest supporter.
Something you could at least throw might be handy, LOL.

Re: OOC II
hedgeknight had to drop out so I will be running Volin as an NPC for now.
Re: OOC II
Same.
Re: OOC II
Hmmm, if we're not heading on to the capital, what are we going to do with the rest of the drake? We can't hold off getting the leather treated for much longer I would imagine.
Re: OOC II
You could propose heading to Burzyn to deal with some stuff. It is only a half day walk,
Re: OOC II
A possibility. Keep in mind that the majority of dwarves in Chybisa are in Burzyn as well. Any outreach to them will need to be there.
Re: OOC II
That was the thought. Getting the hide cleaned and treated needs to be done quickly, but the armor can be crafted later. Not sure what Volin's verbal skills are, but he could start the conversation.
Once we know what Baron Rythal thinks, we can improve the pitch to the dwarves and Ivanians.

Re: OOC II
Volin's communications skills are nothing special/bad. Intrigue 45, Oratory 16, and Rhetoric 39.
Re: OOC II
With it it unclear when the baron might want to see us again sending Volin to at least sort out the hide works for me. Otherwise we're going to be gone for at least a day, more likely two, and we don't want to annoy the baron.
Re: OOC II
Maybe send a message letting him know you have business in Burzyn for a couple of days and ask if you would be needed before then?
Re: OOC II
I just decided to ask before we leave the baron

Re: OOC II
A better idea anyways.
