The hostile airborne forces close in and regardless of losses seek to use the sledgehammer aggression of overwhelming firepower to force the issue and win access to the hangar below.
Frank slips an HE grenade into his underslung launcher and fires it at the on coming pro infantry. Alas, the round misses not only the guy he aimed at but also the guy he could have hit! While the frag effect no doubt hits about half the fireteam the only noticeable effect is one attacker taking a "ding" to the head.
Klaus, knowing that nothing wins a firefight like sustained firepower, opens fire with his issue ACR selecting a mag of DS rounds and full auto. He hits an advancing Para with three bursts and sees rounds penetrate his CES armoured right leg and "wing" his left arm but the already wounded enemy comes on undaunted.
Prerna finds that the SAW is ready to rock n' roll. She selects an already wounded para slogging forward and starts the music. She's not sure whether she ever fully penetrates her target's armour but when the SAW's can runs dry she sees his armour running with blood as he pitches forward onto his knees and then his face and lies still.
Able stirs as First Squad return fire. He drags himself up to deck height blindly firing over the parapet urging
"Go on First Squad! Fekkin' give 'em it!" Dog and Ink blaze away both getting hits. Ink cooly asks
"You OK, hijo?" Dog returns
"Leakin' - fek they're 'ard to stop". Ink slams in another mag and getting a lucky leg hit that drops her target declares
"Stopped!" Killer and Johnny both put full mags on target but the Paras' armour is too good for their DS rounds. Route One peppers his target but the tough para keeps coming. Nuts recovers his aim at the para who launched a grenade at him
"You fekkin' saucey canute - gertcha!" The PGMP's bolt of plasma hits the para centre mass - it doesn't stop.
The squad of Avastan(?) Paras continue to fire and maneuver throwing down a torrent of accurate automatic fire. The Para engaged by Klaus fires back but his aim is "off" and he only hits Klaus once. Credit for center mass but that's where the armour is - and it worked. In the Merc "firepit" that is the sunken lift Dog takes a hit and as he collapses mutters
" 's awright Inky - the armour stopped it... fek..." Switching onto the Command channel Ink calls
"DFSOS my pos - all you got". Another Para staggers forwards but due to his wounds he can't bring his AK to bear accurately. An unwounded Para crests the lift/firepit and hoses rounds into Killer who staggers backwards under the delivered kinetic energy but then bewilderedly turns in his pincushioned armour to Johnny to relate
"Ruddy 'ell - I'm alive!" As he does so a RAM grenade passes through the space where his head would have been. Johnny can but comment
"You fekkin' lucky barsteward!"
