Coming back after some time away.

#1 Post by PresGas »

Hello!

I'm PresGas. Some of you would know me from Dragonsfoot and (lurking mostly) at Knights & Knaves. I am mostly in the Fediverse (Mastodon) and someday ....SOMEDAY!!... I will have a blog. I currently maintain the OSRIC wiki space that holds that along with Dangerous Dungeons.

I am a sysadmin by trade, but now I guess they call us DevOps engineers these days. It's all words...

I have been looking to maybe get a game started somehow or join one and been thinking about systems. The one I use in my F2F is a heavily modified and cobbled-together-from-other-sources version of OSRIC that is still a work in progress. #folkdnd all the way!!

Hope to hear from some old and new folks and maybe join up in some shenanigans!

Welcome back PG!
I like to DM with a heavily unmodified version of OSRIC :D
But it's all good, and no wrong way to D&D. ;)
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Thanks! I feel all warm and fuzzy!!

Are you including all the errata that has been lingering in forums only? I'd sure love to get it into the wiki but whadareyagonnado?

I like to strip things down, even from the three core 1E books!
My friends are slowly moving towards a more OSRIC campaign as opposed to strictly 1e - mainly because it's easier to find the books.
But I'm a "no UA" DM, but I'll probably allow OSRIC's weapon (single) specialization, no evil characters ever, and everything else pretty much BtB. The only thing I modify is initiative, because we are on Skype I use a d10 individual initiative - with some modifiers for casting time, weapon damage, and DEX. Iniative is probably my crunchiest area, in the rules (instead of rulings) arena. Glad to see you again Pres!

Welcome aboard back!
On November 2nd I will be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.
