I’d be okay with the door now that you made me curious

Door is fine with me. We can always back track. We are not under pressure of time just resources so finding extra before we go deeper might be wise anyway.

As a player, I'm up for whatever.
As Dahinna, she's up for leaving and never looking back

Sorry, I have no particular preference- so long as it's not _directly_ into the meat grinder.

Check out the locked N door, then continue W and down?

Re: In the Mind of Man (ooc and questions V)
I'd like to clear out everything up above here before going down the stairs. I don't mind the order. Chubby is intrigued by the locked door, as am I. Let's go there.
That said, what lies behind this secret door and what lies beyond the dark corridor Cruloc leapt to are interesting as well.
What can I say? I'm a completist.
With the locked door to the north currently unlocked, our rear is exposed. I think it is correct to assume that the cube probably wiped out everything in this area, so I think we can safely close the secret door for now and feel fairly confident that nothing is going to sneak up on us from behind it.
We will also need to rest soon for HP and spells. Let's see if we can find a defensible position. A door that locks is a good start.

Hey everyone,
I'm back. New DM post should be up tomorrow.
Thanks for forging consensus in my absence. I really appreciate it.
Anyone got a team in today's game?

What's behind the next door is my Super Bowl.
Re: In the Mind of Man (ooc and questions V)
Are the shield and/or helm any better than what Cruloc currently has?
He has a large shield and a great helm.

They are a large round shield and great helm of Thracian make.
Re: In the Mind of Man (ooc and questions V)
If any of our clerics can cast Light, now would be the time.
How much light does Grigor's sword emanate? Cruloc doesn't like leading while going in blind.

This gave me chills and nearly made me piss myself. So thanks, thanks for that! Then, from the darkness comes a sound like a tattered flag flapping in a howling gale.

I don't like that description at all. I mean, I hate it, but I also love it.
Re: In the Mind of Man (ooc and questions V)
According to the PHB p.102, magical swords will emit 15 to 20 feet of light in a radius, which means Grigor's scimitar will do no good with him at the back.
We can:
a) GTFO of here, rest, and come back with a Light spell.
b) advance with Grigor's sword held by someone at the front. Neither Cruloc nor Torix can be that person because it is magical.
c) go explore beyond the secret door for now, then rest, and come back when we have a Light spell.
For the upcoming round, I'd suggest retreating to the chapel, lighting some torches, and wait to see if anything comes out of this hallway at us.

Re: In the Mind of Man (ooc and questions V)
Grigor.
I am out of 1st level spells memorized for the day. If we can go forward using the sword radiance, I don't mind leading that. My sword is listed as 'family heirloom' and Grigor would probably take any risk at the front to himself than hand it over for someone to use. Someone can walk beside me, stuck Gnasher on his leash, he can sniff anything out in front of us, bark out as warning if he smells someone approaching maybe.

Yes but please remember that in these strange obsidian territories...
