"Welcoming for sure."

He can't help but go and look into the pot, expecting floating eyes and bunny boilings.

Sai

Carries his shield and Blazing Morning Star before him like a torch.

Let's not stumble into this like a bunch of fools. Steps need to be taken for our safety. Fahima, come here. You will be our safety net. I will cast Invisibility on you and you can have a look around and stay out of sight just in case.

------------

If she agrees I will cast Invisibility on her.

Cassius

"How much longer through this water-soaked land? And what do you know of this cabin?" He asks Snake Bite via the mossy translator.

"Well. We need a place to stay the night. Maybe we can bargain a deal."

The archer waits for Fahima to vanish and then leads the way to the cabin.

"Roan, would you mind taking my pack for now? Thanks."

Once invisible and Roan has her pack for safe keeping she will sneak up and scout the cabin area, including the cauldron.

Greyhawk, 586 CY, Readying 19
Southern Hool Swamp, Early Evening, Cool and Foggy

Sai has a good plan and once the situation of holding backpacks and such is figured out, the tri-classed Elf invokes his magic and turns Fahima invisible!
Vilana rolls her eyes as the Halfling and the Dwarf go back and forth, sighing loudly and fidgeting with her bow.
Gordansk and Zan agree it is best to check things out.
Cassius asks Snake Bite about the cabin and Tree Moss translates. "Never been in this part o' the swamp. Still...it be kinda odd fer a cabin to be out here in the middle o' nowhere. And it's right out in the open."

As Fahima disappears and goes off to search, the rest of the group can't help but wonder what could be bubbling in the cauldron. Then the wind shifts slightly, bringing with it an odor not unlike that of one of your favorite foods you used to eat as a child. It smells so good, your stomach growls and your mouth waters. It smells so good, you feel compelled to venture over to the cauldron...and take a sip.

Everyone needs to roll a saving throw vs. Spell. If you pass, you kind of come to yourself and wonder what the hell you were thinking. But...if you fail, you begin walking toward the cauldron.
I'll leave it up to you to describe a food from childhood, perhaps one your mother or grandmother made for you.

Fahima:
Sneaking up to the cabin is not as easy as you would think, due to the spongy ground and ever-present threat of stepping into a hole and sinking in over your head! Fortunately, that does not happen, and in a couple of minutes, you are between the cabin and the cauldron.

The smell coming off the cauldron is surprisingly pleasant: a mixture of cinnamon and honey...which reminds you of the sugar buns your grandma would make for you as a child. Could there be sugar buns in the cauldron?

Roll a saving throw vs. Spell; if you fail, you approach the cauldron, and using the ladle, scoop out some mixture and take a sip. Whereupon you will need to make a saving throw vs. Poison

Gordansk

Drawn by curiosity as well as the smell, he goes to investigate the cauldron and stir the pot.

"Curious smell. But to me it looks like curiosity is cooking the cat." he says.

"Perhaps some extra salt is required?"

Cassius

"That smell...could it really be? I haven't had real Elf Bread since forever..." Cassius lowers his guard and moves quickly for the pot. Unless, of course, this falls under a charming effect. :D

Zan

Zan smells a fish dinner that his mother made long ago but realizes that this cannot be that meal. As everyone claims a different smell, when someone starts for the pot he will try to talk them out of it.

Sai

Casts his Invisibility spell on Fahima. And stepping back. Be careful up there could be anything in there.

He hoist his Morning Star, casting its light around everyone. Giving Fahima time to slip away.

Damn, that smells like Old Ginger's Morning Tarts. She used to make them every morning and hand them out to random men at the Inn. They were always stuff full of Berries and topped with Whipped Cream. Delicious. Wonder what she is doing how? Hey. Tarts don't bubble in a cauldron, at least not one i'd want to eat. That's just plain nasty.

No one touch the cauldron there is some kind of foul magic at work here.

The Cabin in the Swamp

That might be a record in my games > every player replying in less than 20 hours. 50 XP for everyone!! :D

The tasty fumes wafting along the swamp are enticing to the companions...but almost all do not give in to the temptations assailing their nostrils. All but two Elves > Vilana and Cassius, one believing it is her grandmother's rhubarb pie, the other Elven Bread from his childhood...and one hungry Lizard Man > Snake Bite!
The trio make for the cauldron, drawn like moths to a flame.
Zan speaks to them, trying to stop them, but they do not listen.
(Does Zan put his hands on them, try to physically prevent them from going?)
Gordansk is already there with a witty quip, and so is Fahima, who realizes quickly things are not what they seem.
Roan looks uneasy "What in tha hells is goin on round ere? Somethin' feels off anyone else feel it? Like we're bein bewitched er somethin."
Sai, holding aloft his glowing morningstar, readily agrees. No one touch the cauldron there is some kind of foul magic at work here.

Tree Moss grabs hold of Snake Bite's arm, trying to hold the lizard man back, but it's like trying to hold back a strong bull. Snake Bite drags the old trader through the swampy mess, snapping at his hand in protest, hissing as he jerks free!

As Cassius and Vilana move closer, the door at the top of the stairs on the cabin opens, and there is a silhouette standing there, watching. The form is that of a woman...or is it a man with long, wild hair? You can't really tell, but there is a stubby-tailed cat winding back and forth between the legs of the person and the door facing. What do they want? Why are they watching?

Gordansk

He sees the bubbling cauldron and tangle going on between those who would dine in the swamp bushmeat treats. He approaches the woman closer, perhaps by the foot of the ladder.

He invokes his Detect Evil cantrip to assess any physical or moral threat the suspected sorceress might have.

"Greetings good lady. My companions and I are just passing through, on the way to a rendezvous with the lizardman chief. We don't mean to trespass upon your abode."
