"Ye gads!" Mungo thinks. "How many of those things can a lake of slime produce?" He wonders what kind of horror Finver encountered in the western chamber. Surely it can't be anything worse than the thing Ko-Nan just... killed? He gladly follows Finver's advice to flee to the northern passage.

When he meets Finver, he'll case his remaining Cure Disease on him.

Maskelyn
And stay down, ya flea-bitten, baggy- eyed maroon!

Maskelyn heads North toward the passage, slowing to help Finver. He'll scrape at the Slime on Finver with his hands, trusting the Shamaness' words that he's immune.

I suspect Maskelyn's 'immunity' is phony, so I'll throw in a save vs. Poison:

Having seen what Finver is fleeing, Fiefo thinks heading northwards and outwards is probably the best idea he's heard in a long while. He turns in that direction and scuttles as fast as he can while still remain on his feet in the room's slick coating of slime...

@Rex, sorry, this action may fail simply because it assumes Finver will remain still long enough for Draupadi to finish casting the spell... but not Finver! Nope, he's outta here - or least trying to get out! Never saw a dwarf move faster and perhaps the slime coat facilitates that!

It will most likely fail anyways, but she needs to try.

Small in stature Mungo pursues small in stature slime-covered Finver, arms outstretched to lay on paws for a disease-curing spell.

Connack charges up toward the shouts, ready to do battle, seeing the slime creature be formed and then reabsorbed into the slime, he considers the words of Finver to be wise indeed. With his saber at the ready to "kill?" any slime creatures that pop up, he will follow the general exodus to the north, praying that it's not a trap. As he runs, he yells Does anyone have any oil left?

Caveman Dwelling at the Starfall, Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Morning. Saturday, April 14th, 912 CY

Image

Half mad from the horrific transformation of his slime-infected flesh, Finver stumbles backwards down the stone steps away from the fearsome Slime God from another world!

By his size and voice, Finver's friends recognize him, barely. The hideous slime-dwarf frantically urges them all to flee as he staggers north in hopes of finding a means to escape with his life!

The others race after him and they find a slime-coated stairway up! Connak and Maskelyn look back and immediately wish they hadn't.

Image

They witness the Slime God's ghastly immensity slide down the western stairs and pour itself into the luminous slime pit!

Image

A shifting, rippling thing of eyes and mouths, birthing new slime minions from its ever-changing, revolting mass!

Image

They struggle to comprehend what their eyes behold, as the Slime God's many voices gurgle,
"Finver, Draupadi, Ko-Nan, all of you. Join with us."
Finver and Ko-Nan can also hear the inhuman voices inside their minds!

The adventurers flee up the northern stairs!

They burst outside into daylight, free of the caverns, and find the jungle around them blighted and entirely coated in slime!

Maskelyn shouts Murus ignis speciem! , casting Phantasmal Force to create the illusion of a wall of fire on the stairs behind the group. Then he runs on up the stairs and out into the slimy sunlight.

Finver slows their frenzied escape at the top of the steps, folding himself forward at the hips to recover his breath. The dwarf rises after momentarily bracing himself on his knees. Shielding his eyes from the bright daylight, he takes in their new surroundings. His mouth opens agape in a distraught stare at the slime coated jungle surrounding them.

He emits a slow, rising groan when he realizes they must immediately resume their flight for survival. Each few of his words are interrupted by heaving breaths in or out, "We made it ta tha surface alive, fellas," breaking a wry smile and chuckle he adds, "but we're not safe yet!."

He frantically scans the landscape in all direction searching for a new escape route or objects to climb and get a better view of the terrain. He offers his plan to his fellows, thinking aloud in anxious collaboration, "We got ta find where tha fallin' star landed! Follow the signs of tha fallin' star, like we saw on tha cave walls, remember?"
He'll be looking for paths or areas free of slime, particularly changes in elevation that may lead them to a crash site of the falling star.

Little Mungo also arrives at the stair, breathless. He looks around at the slime-coated trees, just about to fall into dejected dejection.

The priest thinks quickly. Draupadi, my friend, who's to say the thing can't ascend these stairs? Eyeball by eyeball and tentacled bat or toad at a time? The moleman cleric casts his goggles all around, seeing only deep slime below and slime hanging from the trees above. He looks around to see if there's a door at the top of the stairs to close. And then calls on the power of Verne, Wells and the Professor to rid Finver of the slime.

Fiefo pats himself for an oil flask and remembers he never had any. Not that it matters much, since he also has no means of lighting it.

“At least maybe here we can fight it as it comes up the stairs? he says, doubting himself even as he says it. Oh well, it wouldn’t be the first time they were wiped out by a hideous otherworldly creature. Last time he got this cool cybernetic eye, so…

He scampers up to the opening they just exited with scimitar and shield ready.

Caveman Dwelling at the Starfall, Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Morning. Saturday, April 14th, 912 CY

Image

Escaping the caverns of the Slime God with their lives, the adventurers find the jungle around them blighted and entirely coated in slime!

Fiefo draws steel and returns to the doorless cave mouth as Maskelyn suddenly conjures a wall of fraudulent flames that covers its maw!

Image

Nearby, Draupadi implores Dhianha of the sacred pantheon of Dhee Zhee Khamix!

Image

By Her holy mercy, Ko-Nan is cured of his Void Slime infestation.

But Finver remains in a horrible state. "We got ta find where tha fallin' star landed!" he cries as he runs off, half-mad!
Alone, the frantic slime-dwarf soon finds an immense, de-forested, slime-coated impact crater! At its bottom is a large opening into a cave that he remembers.
The Slime God is not present there, but the broken shards of the fallen star remain.

In his mind, he hears the thick, wet gurgling of the Slime God: "Finver. You are one with us now. Come back to us. Back where you belong."

Sorry, I revised Mungo's post to cast Cure Disease on Finver, but DM may not have known that. Sorry about that.
Mungo follows Finver, ready to cast the healing power of Verne and Wells to cleanse disease, at the soonest opportunity.
