Looking to start a game for Newbies using D&D Modules B1/B5:

#1 Post by PyroArrow »

I am setting up a campaign for newbies called "B1/B5 Guido's Keep on the Borderlands & the Hills of Horror & Chaos".
I am using both Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 1st & 2nd Edition Characters & rules for this.
Register your characters on http://unseenservant.com with the Campaign ID# 137!

Forum for the game is here: viewforum.php?f=96

I have Character sheets for your use, you just need to give them a name, age, height & weight.

Don't I know you from somewhere? :D

Welcome PyroArrow !
My recommendation is don't be shy, jump right in... Waitaminit!!

Seriously though. Welcome, good to have another game starting up.

--Ron--
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

I can't help but wonder: how many AD&D newbies do you expect to find on this board? ;)

Canon, this is a Play-by-Post forum. In general, all games are run in that format (though the site has hosted information/chats for at least one Skype game that I know of).

But I believe PA's intention is to run a PbP game here...

PyroArrow,

Followed you over from rpg.net, and would like to join the game. I'm a newbie in the "haven't played since I was twelve sense." Not too sure what to play. Maybe a ranger?

You have to be added to the games by the DM of the game. Just send them a PM and if they have a spot for you they'll add you.
Or find their Looking For Players thread and reply to that. :)
Either way I think only a DM (or GM) of the game can add you to the game which then gives you permission to post.
Good luck!

Send a PM to PyroArrow to confirm your entry into the game and make sure you have permissions to the game.

I am interested in joining the game. This would be my first time playing a PBP game. I haven't played D&D in years and would love to get into a game. This option would work well with my current work/school schedule. I created an account on the Unseen Dice Servant Dice Roller and I'm currently working on a character. Let me know if this is acceptable.

Thank You

I would like to join up with this campaign. It has been quite awhile since I have played, but I've still got the 2nd edition Player's Handbook and DM Guide. My schedule is flexible. Thinking about what class of character to be, but saw you were online; so I thought I would send a message and try and catch you.

To continue my last post, I was hoping to get into this campaign as...possibly a monk or halfling thief. I have registered@ the dice roller, and figured out the proxy setups etc. I've done a few sample pcs, but I am not sure what methods people are using to roll their characters. Seems like everyone so far has some pretty high ability and hp scores on avg.

If there is still room in this game, Pyro, I'd love to join in! Should I PM you like Alethan suggested to check? I'm not a newbie, per se... But I've been out of the game as it were for quite a few years. While I'm familiar with most of the general rules and system, I'm definitely not an up to speed player currently, but once you learn how to ride a bike and all that...
