I keep seeing this map from Dyson Logos and wanting to procedurally generate its contents on the fly:

Rules are secondary to DM style, what's yours?seanfsmith wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 2:53 pm Anyone game for some British-style OSR dungeon bash? My QUARREL + FABLE is light on rules with an open ended character generation system.
Found them and posted them here: https://www.unseenservant.us/forum/view ... 96#p606496
If you had the data, it could be done programically. Not sure how the ecosystem would work, though.hedgeknight wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 4:39 pm Sean, that's an insane-looking dungeon! Stocking that bad boy would be really fun.
Nah, that takes all the fun out of itLeitz wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 5:13 pmIf you had the data, it could be done programically. Considerably filmic, fairly permissive; spatters of tight evocative description rather than reams of text. I recently ran a live play-by-post using Maze Rats and a different Dyson map --- the loosely edited report is here and it gives as good an example of my text games as any otherLeitz wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 4:22 pmRules are secondary to DM style, what's yours?seanfsmith wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 2:53 pm Anyone game for some British-style OSR dungeon bash? That was my thought upon first seeing it! It's possible to get the whole thing printed on a metal plate and I'd love to take that to cons, but I don't yet have the funds! (For the map, less the cons.)hedgeknight wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 4:39 pm Sean, that's an insane-looking dungeon! Stocking that bad boy would be really fun.
I haven't read the entire write-up yet, but that is a heck of a sample.seanfsmith wrote: ↑Fri Apr 22, 2022 6:55 pm I recently ran a live play-by-post using Maze Rats and a different Dyson map --- the loosely edited report is here and it gives as good an example of my text games as any other.
I see you're already connected to tibbius; he's a great DM.FarseersSeeFar wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 9:34 am I'd love to play or run any of Jason Tocci's 24XX modules!
I've been intrigued by actual play of the Dune game, which shares the engine, right? I'd be eager to give this a shot!
I'd be game to give it a try. Start a new thread for recruiting.jemmus wrote: ↑Tue May 03, 2022 11:15 pm Here are some highlights of the Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of system.
-Players roll 2 d20s for actions and attacks. If either roll is below the number required, it's a Success.
-If both rolls are Successes, the second one earns a Momentum point. The Momentum points go into a pool that the players share.
-Players can spend Momentum points for various things, including buying an extra d20 to roll for a difficult task.
-Similarly, the GM accumulates Doom points to add Complications to PCs' actions.
Does Dune have the same system?
He is! And also a great contributor to the gaming community, it's a pleasure to witness his work firsthand.I see you're already connected to tibbius; he's a great DM.
