Thinking that he is going to be here a few more minutes, Kit will look for a garage or something on this side with a some containment for the 4 prisoners. This will not be a situation that we are stopping guarding them, just a goal to reduce there running area without giving them a weapon.

Prerna hands it her rifle. "Now what?"

Roland takes Prerna's rifle, indifferent to the challenges of weight or balance and states "Caution: firearm hazard" whilst holding the rifle away from Prerna. It then momentarily stops. It then and holds the rifle close to its "face". The robot intones "Weapon. Identifying. Gauss Light Assault Gun 13. Sniper Variant. Personalis- correction. Standard issue". It then intones "Movement order. Allied sub unit Prerna standby to move. Move". At this a gently irresistible force touches the back of Prerna's knees. The glacier like pressure knocks her gently off balance into the "palm" of Roland's left "paw". Prerna then does her best Fay Wray as the robot lifts her to its chest height "Prerna. Secure for transit". The advantage of mechanically articulating joints allows shoulder and elbow to rotate sufficiently to give Prerna access to the robot's back where she (hopefully) takes advantage of the now protruding foot pegs and what must be a skeletal "pillion" type seat. She's grateful as the robot accelerates close to 100kph and then back to zero over the relatively short distance to the top of Hawkwind's hull.

Erica "steps off" her grav belt's lift onto the Hawkwind's hull and is greeted by Able who is fitting a demo charge to a glassteel panel in the trader's "glass nose". He grins "Miss East, Ma'am, you're a treat for the mince pies - if'n ter don't mind me sayin'. Mister Ghosal wants 'is 'oles up 'ere so we're doin' a first storey job". Whiskey and Dog cover the visible hatches. Erica replies "Oi, long dog, keep yer mincers off me 'aris - you can bog when the Imperial fire team in the berm wall's dealt wiv. Turn it rahnd - we'll go dahn the apples". Her Collace Downspire accent is frighteningly accurate. Able looks like he's been smitten in every possible sense. He orders "Lads cover the berm. The treacle's are on the in". He hands the detonator to Erica who blows the charge. As she does so Roland punches another panel with both massive fists and then rips it free.

Kit can see what looks like an open loading bay situated in the northern (black shaded) quadrant of the berm which would surely serve to provide at least a three sided "prisoner pen".

Please make a Recon Roll on 2d6+3 (aggregate +ve DM's from half Tactics plus Fwd Obs (as Recon) plus Int).

Er... I think that would be a "lifestyle choice"... Unless its for POWs (which you were expecting and can therefore quite reasonably plan for) in which case - yes. The Collace natives all carry heavy duty cable ties which provide improvised temporary 'cuffs for prisoners, security people or other would be "larceny limiters".

Kit will direct Ink and Route One to get the 4 prisoners into the pen and they will cuff the hands behind the back one at a time (one guarding - one cuffing) and then legs same process.

She drops down to land on a double bed and is immediately followed in by Erica who, placing a hand on her shoulder, stacks up behind her at the stateroom's closed door. Erica leans in to whisper "You are the tip of the spear. Ready?"

Meanwhile, Able moves up to the hole blasted by the demolition charge and kneels to peer cautiously within. He immediately takes fire from inside. Hard rounds embed in his breast plate and ricochet off his helmet and he recoils back from the hole. Shaking his head as if to clear it he screams "In the ruddy boat race? Fekkin' sauce!" Now standing he leans out to spray autofire back in return. A body thumps to the floor inside the crew common area below. Able vindictively and petulantly gives it another burst as he crows "Fekkin' 'ave that you mug!"

"Caxton, you, Jolly, and Freddie hold here; you are rear guard," Jakob said as he knelt by Freddie. He poked and prodded, doing a quick triage medical eval. If Freddie needs to be evac'd Jakob will have Tango and Victor do that first. "Good job Freddie, now keep them off my tail while I go visit the bridge. Just so you know, Killer got some cuddle time with the WO. You might want to rethink where you get shot."

Jakob determines Freddie's wounds are stable and non life threatening as is. Freddie chuckles (in between wincing while being examined) "Well, with the greatest respect, she's really quite lovely - just not my thing. I'll stick it out here, sir. Help Caxton splay his legs - he always needs a bit of help with his tripod". Jakob notes that having been wounded twice Freddie could have justifiably jacked it in - but didn't. Also two wounds would have "done for/mission killed" lesser men (Regulars and Recruits).

If I understand correctly, there is a hatch "up" that is jammed open but the ship defenders went forward through the iris valves? This assumes that is true. If not, just re-route Jakob to wherever he thinks the targets are.

Jakob sees that the ceiling hatch is partially closed and has a large engineering spanner jammed in it. This has upset the safety settings no end. They are flashing and demanding crew attention to the currently defective hatch. On seeing the lie of the land himself it appears to Jakob that the crew were trying to fight their way through to this hatch but ran into a stoically determined Freddie and then fell back. [OCC Int 2d6: (1 + 6) = 7 + Jakob's Service and other DMs = Success] Jakob reckons that due to the successful storming of the stairway and subsequent surprise ingress Freddie may have stubbornly cut off access to this hatch - which may be the only vertical deck to deck access on the entire ship. He ruefully also notes that had the crew used the portside route and/or not assumed Freddie had backup they'd be "upstairs" by now...

Dubs states "Sir, there's an incoming tight beam. It's a multiple transmission directed at our drones and also one of the IFVs. I've done nothing to acknowledge receipt of the transmission but you might want to be aware of the sender and content, sir".

I am ably defended by the warband of “The Gravedigger” himself Viktor Solonik. They are heavily armed. Any troops you send aboard will die to no purpose and whatever you achieve will avail you nothing for I am in possession of a live nuclear warhead. A device which I have no qualms about detonating - unless we negotiate terms. Respond or face the consequences!"

In the HQ Liv delivers her view "Sir, my assessment hasn't changed Vladimir Mikhailov is a local cover - an alias. He's an ex company man Carlos Zeitz - Imperial Intelligence gone rogue. Getting to be Avastan Secretary was clearly a career side gig that he monetised into an early retirement project. I met with him just prior to falling foul of the bogus Imperial Marshals who were operating in town. They really weren't nice people and if I'd ended up with them I wouldn't have enjoyed it - I am quite sure that he sold me out. Viktor Solonik “The Gravedigger” is not only a very proficient assassin but a man who enjoys his work. He's the guy who not only brings his work home but does it on his days off. Sir, you should be aware that my analysis might be coloured by the fact that if I got the chance I'd shot both of them in the head at the first chance I got. It's more or less the definition of pro bono".

Dubs says "Sir, there's some clutter at the end of the transmission. If I... er... here we are!"

He plays back an extra segment of audio: "Solonik, what was that?!? Keep me safe - send your men!!!"

Moving quickly, she stepped out into the passageway, moving at a tactical crouch with her weapon shouldered. She next targeted the pirate beyond her first customer, being careful to not immediately turn the next corner to her left.

Our mission is to capture the downport, not him, we could let him leave." he pauses for a second, thinking "He said aboard, that infers he's on one of the ships, one that we haven't boarded. Or perhaps from that last piece of audio one we are boarding right now, the Deliverance and the Hawkwind. Dubbs, with that in mind can we confirm the likely source is the berm at D4, based on the drones and IFV targetted? Also, have Freya's team go over the sensor logs to see if can confirm the presence of a live nuke."

He switches to the command channel

"We have just received a communication from Avastan Secretary Vladimir Mikhailov, which Liz believes is a cover for an ex-imperial intelligence officer. From the contents we believe that he, plus Viktor Solonik, are aboard a ship here in the downport. My hunch is the Deliverance or the Hawkwind, my money is on the Deliverance. They say they are protected by a heavily armed warband, so be careful, we overheard them sending some men to investigate a noise. They also claim to have a live nuke. We're trying to confirm their location, and the presence of the nuke."

Unless I'm reading the previous posts incorrectly, I have Jakob assaulting the Deliverance, and Prerna and co the Hawkwind.

"The major confirms they are priming the nuke on the Hawkwind. Voss, ensure our allies are informed of the situation."

On the command channel:
"We have confirmation of the nuke on the Hawkwind , Queso One is dealing."

As soon as the door opens Prerna puts a burst into the gunman beyond. The full burst struck his centre mass. As he was turned to his half left his left arm took the hits that his back ballistic plate would otherwise have caught. Prerna saw her DS rounds shatter his humerus on route to his vital organs. He dropped his weapon and pitched over. She hears the high pitched sigh of Erica's carbine and sees another gunman stagger forwards from the doorway of the room to her front and gurgle something through his ruined neck before collapsing even as Able's rounds rake him from above. Another thump and a "Blyaat!" is cut off by the detonation of a grenade.

A male voice calls out "Ekki skjóta, Snorri þarf hjálp".

Prerna turns left, weaving among the chairs and tables toward the ship's starboard side. She ignores the hostages as she looks for the other guards with lethal intent.

Sugar rotates the turret to rain plasma death into the API trenches as the two SEMC grav vehicles re-cross the runway and then approach the westernmost berm from the west.

Jess sees the usual, functional trench system of two up one back set into the berm's outer slope. A pillbox at the top of the slope covers the trenches below. She immediately sees that the entire trench system is what could be described by a journo as an active warzone. One of the forward trenches or, more accurately, the organic contents thereof appears to be on fire. The smoke requires some adjustment of vision aids but hardly obscures high tech vision aids.

Tasked with supporting the Aslan Jess tries to seek them out. She can see one lying still and unmoving near an API trench - at a guess he was hit with a LAW. She can see another unengaged but wounded. He still has his weapon and is dragging himself on up the slope. She sees the SEMC G Carrier down on the berm's slope within about 100m of the southern flank of the trenches. It has damage from an apparent LAW strike to its side and from the look of the "list" on it has lost a grav module. The female Aslan is on board apparently crewing the HMG solo as the SEMC crewman is sheltering underneath it. She has trouble loading a fresh belt as it seems that she only has the use of one arm. Nevertheless she completes the task and then sights the weapon carefully - apparently on one end of the burning trench. An API infantryman sticks his head up and Jess sees the female Aslan's tail twitch. She pulls back the Ma Deuce's cocking handle - and waits.

The movement of a pale blue sashimomo draws Jess' eye further up the slope to the "support" trench below the impact pitted pill box. A male Aslan pulls himself from the trench tossing his polearm out first. He is covered in blood. The blood is clearly not his own as, with frightening speed, he sprints up to the pill box and pounds his massive fist at the weapon slit. The partially shattered rockcrete crumbles and the Aslan swiftly thrusts his arm inside up to the shoulder. He then pulls something which instantly becomes a bloody mess partially back out through the hole. The Aslan roars his exultation.

Jess' audio sensors pick up firing just as she sees another sashimono waving about inside the "not on fire" trench. Someone screams as the Aslan wearing the holographic flag reaches behind himself and grabs a human body??? by the legs. He then smashes it over arm into something in the trench to his front.

Meanwhile, the wounded Aslan crawls up to the berm's crest and detaching his own sashimono extends its butt spike before smashing it into the summit. As the other two recover their longarms and trudge uphill a burst of HMG fire cuts down three API troopers fleeing the burning trench. The big Aslan near the pill box notices the hovering AFVs, bats his forearm and Jess receives a static laden translation "What?"

Jakob would take the potential nuke issue seriously and kick the reactions up a notch so that he and his team can support whatever else needs doing. So, boarding action all the way, and not sparing the ammo. If someone wants to surrender they need to be quick about it.
