Cave near the Starfall, Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Nightfall. Friday, April 13th, 912 CY

Image

From within the glistening mucus, deathly otherworldly horrors stare out at the adventurers!

Maskelyn's illusory flames protect their rear as Mungo and Connak loose slings and arrows that shatter off the stone walls!

Draupadi holds forth the holy symbol of Dhianha, goddess of wisdom and war! She attempts to drive back the wet, shambling terrors... to no avail!

Then Finver and Ko-Nan charge into the fray! The barbarian's aim is ruined by a primal revulsion shuddering within him! But the dwarf's war hammer strikes true! The bone-splintering blow would have killed a man, but his viscous, lumbering foe only unleashes a gurgling howl! (S5)

It and another slimy monstrosity (S6) try to strangle Finver and Ko-Nan but the two warriors narrowly evade their murderous, dripping grasp!

"Er... ok..."

Seeing that the creatures do not seem to want to advance through the flames, Fiefo finally turns and scampers otherendwards to help with the fighting there.

Maskelyn
Maskelyn holds his position, watching the Squishys behind us, in case they break through. Maybe burn them with a torch? he says, to no one in particular.

Thick, harrowing moans gurgle forth from the heinous mouths of the slime-coated dead!

Disgust and loathing ravage the aim of Connak, Finver and Ko-Nan! The barbarian beats back grasping, reaching hands! But Connak is strangled by a wet, slithering mockery of life! (3hp damage. Please Save vs Poison and post regardless of the outcome)

Behind them, Draupadi fails to drive off the living corpses at their rear flank! But Maskelyn the trickster holds them back with his fraudulent flames!

Mungo doesn't see anyway he can help. Slinging bullets at the slimy things could end up injuring his friends instead. He turns and instead whips a lead ball at the ones behind the flames. Take that, rude and aggressive thing!

Realizing he can't fit onto the front line and with nothing more productive to do, Fiefo will begin cleaning his fingernails with the ens of his scimitar, then clear his throat and say, "Ahem! If you let one through the middle a step, Connak, I can help you out..."

Connak and Ko-Nan cannot land telling blows upon the revolting, slime-covered cadavers! But Finver strikes true again, and shatters a disgusting muck creature in a rain of bones and glop! (S5)

Another shambling wet horror takes its place and crushes Finver's throat in its vise-like grip! (3hp damage. Please Save vs Poison and post regardless of the outcome)

And the dripping thing that has a hold on Connak squeezes tighter with otherworldly strength! (6hp damage. Please Save vs Poison and post regardless of the outcome)

Mungo fires a sling bullet through Maskelyn's firewall into an ooze monster that does not fall! (S1)

And Draupadi summons forth an invisible, spectral hammer beyond those flames which crashes against the cavern walls!

Finver releases a guffaw of victory as the first slime creature falls under his war hammer. But his cheer is short-lived as the next slime creature steps forward and clutches his throat.

Saving Throw vs Posion [1d20]=10 Successfully saved!

He wheezes for breath and defiantly snarls, "Not the beard, that's gonna be yer last mistake!!"

He chokes up his grip on his war hammer and brings it down again on his new assailant.
