Trist tells Jivet telepathically, "Jivet my dear be careful something came out of the cave.

Egon
Headed which way?
Can Egon get a shot on it with his bow?
Whispering to the others, "Looks like something spotted us."

Re: Chapter 5: Harvest of Death
The dwarf sized creature is running toward your group and further behind it you can see a small group of things chasing it.

Re: Chapter 5: Harvest of Death
As the figure gets closer you can see it is a dwarf, a burly dwarf with a fire red beard containing several braided sections in the front. Running from what appear to be a hobgoblin and several goblins, mostly carrying spears, though the hobgoblin in the lead is carrying a sword. Lumbering in the back of the small hoard of monsters chasing the dwarf is taller brute that looks almost like an orc and an ogre had a baby and it grew to adult hood, it carries a long pole sporting an axe head. The dwarf has no weapons at ready and looks to be not a threat, but the things behind him are certainly a threat!
distance wise I would say that things are still far enough range wise that you can actually make out most of what these creatures look like but still enough distance that only ranged attacks will work for now. Total of 8 monsters chasing the dwarf.

by the looks of it no nothing more than leather, spiked or studded. Most of the goblins are in almost no armor ragged armor.

Weston casts Hold Person at the approaching group, the main target being the hobgoblin, then goblins.

Trist
Telepathically, "Jivet, be careful coming back to me, fly high and to the side, as we are firing arrows.
Jivet replies, "I think some grease might slow the enemy down a bit from catching the dwarf. giggle
Jivet fly invisibly into range (within 30 yards) to cast grease just in front of the attacking enemy units (10x10 patch) trying to catch the dwarf and at about medium range for the short bows, if possible.
"Everyone, I've warned Jivet so that she will fly high enough to avoid arrows or way to the side. She's going to cast grease hopefully to slow them down. Target that area if it catches several in it.
Trist fires her bow as well.
[1d20+4]=1+4=5, dmg sml [1d8]=7 Fumble
Ugh
IF a second shot is allowed.
[1d20+4]=6+4=10, dmg sml [1d8]=5

Re: Chapter 5: Harvest of Death
Fumble roll Percentile Die Rolls [1d100]=37 = Clumsy: Roll Dex or fall and drop primary weapon. If you pass on Dex roll you slip and do not fall and can take 2nd shot.

Re: Chapter 5: Harvest of Death
Since I had a fumble as well with a 38, I will assume is it the same. The Dex roll on a d20? or some number of d6?

Re: Chapter 5: Harvest of Death
1d20 typically for saves and stat checks. Lets see a 38% on the fumble roll is the same result Clumsy is 26% - 39%

At least in this case the back to back 1's is good
DEX Check for fumble
DEX Roll (18): [1d20]=1

Grimnir
He will turn when about 20 feet from the others and hurl a Javelin at the Hobgoblin.
Help!! Damned Goblins is after me. Think I killed their breeders.
===============
[1d20+3]=15+3=18 Javelin thrown Keep forgetting +1 for Dwarves vs Goblins and Hobgoblins but it is a hit either way.
[1d6+5]=1+5=6 Javelin damage

Elanriel a little put off at the strange events takes up her bow and aims for the hobgoblin or next in line if it dies before her shot.

Xlore takes up his bow and fires at the next foremost foe.
