I'm assuming Ambergris has the mirror since he is the one who fleeced the bodies of the Necromites.
However, going forward, when I give out things like this, along with treasure, if there is no mention of "I put it in my backpack" or "I pick it up and carry it for later" then I will assume no one has it. ;) Fair enough?

Tap the frame, talk to the young missy reflected in it. He tries a bit of warlock empathy. As his mind link frames the gift to 'whoever he can see', he tries to connect to the elf on the other side of the reflection.

"Hey babe." when he remembers that Tommy is trying to find someone and his search has led him thus far. "Recognise this person? You can link to her maybe. Try it."
The lady in the mirror does not respond or react to the sea captain's attempted mind link or empathy.

Tommy throws his backpack next to the books and brings the unseen servant to have the books packed inside, if nothings happens he picks up his backpack, keeping one out (the red leather bound) to start studying them
arcana check- Arcana: [1d20+3]=11+3=14
Tommy takes a quick look at the red leather tome and finds it contains the following spells: burning hands, detect magic, disguise self, fog cloud, ray of sickness, silent image.
with one last check around the room - Investigation: [1d20+3]=17+3=20
he commands the ghostly form ahead and begins the exploration again (all the way back to the split room and to the eastern hallway that we haven't explored)
The door to the eastern hallway opens easily, revealing a long hallway with at least two sets of stairs descending further and further below the bathhouse...

Ambergris

Illiciting no response from the pouty woman in the reflection, Ambergris decides against flashing a 'dick pic'. Just as well, after Mina's exertions the woman might think he was a grocer hawking button mushrooms and walnuts.

He pouches the souvenir and follows, draped in black cloak behind the torch carrying unseen servant.

I should have asked these questions before, but better late than never as is said:
1/ Is the unseen servant still carrying the torch it picked up in the necromite chamber?
2/ How long do you think it has been since you first entered the dungeon?
3/ Lesh and Tommy have darkvision (I think) but, how is Ambergris seeing without a light source?
4/ How far back are Ambergris and Lesh from Tommy?

Ambergris

He was seeing by the light of the torch though he has the warlock ability to cast an Eldritch Invocation named 'Devil's Sight', which allows him to see in normal and magical darkness to a depth of 120'ft. I do have a lantern listed in my pack (mentioned when we first entered) but someone struck a torch so I have not lit that.

I think the Unseen Servant has a 60'ft range but I would think in any exploring that we are not more than 30'ft behind it. I picture us being one square (5'ft?) behind each other.

Probably been exploring at least three turns with all the stop and searching.

OOC-
1- i'd rather the unseen servant not be carrying a torch, pretty much would let everyone know we are on the way, but given that the necromites had torches, i think the best bet would be to have the unseen servant change the bathrobe for a necromite robe (there were 3, ambergris, the unseen servant and tommy are wearing them) and carry a torch
2- the unseen servant spell lasts for 1 hour, your call on if its been more than that, i think it's fair if you call it done or one last room/encounter

Deeper In...

Tommy sends the unseen servant farther on ahead while he and his companions follow along behind. The unseen servant no longer wears a pink bathrobe; instead it is draped in the dirty robes of a dead necromite; its torch sheds light bright enough to see clearly at 20 feet and dimly for another 20 feet.
Turning the corner, the torch reveals a chamber unlit, flooded, and braced with floor-to-ceiling wooden beams...

Actions?
Unseen servant currently on turn 4.

Lesh will attempt to move up to the wooden beam near Tommy and touch him, casting Guidance. On the the other side of wooden beam he peaks around to take a look.

Perception: [1d20+5]=10+5=15

OOC: I would like to have the third book of black scaly reptilian hide to examine.

Guidance (PHB pg. 248) You touch one willing creature. Once before the spell ends, the target can roll a d4 and add the number rolled to one ability check of its choice. It can roll the die before or after making the ability check. The spell then ends.

Ambergris

Halts Tommy with a tap on his shoulder.

"I don't like the look of this section. Liable to collapse, we should proceed with caution. I suggest we take the edge of the room rather than the centre. You go this way, I'll go that." he points around the flooded chamber.

Clothed in his dark cloak and prodding ahead with his spiked spear, Ambergris will edge his way to his right, back to the wall and go west along the wall.

not sure if you need a roll of any kind if the area is dangerous.

Ambergris: dexterity check vs 15, proficiency with athletics +2 [1d20+2]=4+2=6

Hoping his experience in confined decks of creaking hulls and a surprisingly high Dex and athletics will help him dodge any collapse. He has to adjust the head on the spiked flail, dangling between his legs and swinging side to side as he walks, the shaft tucked in his belt. The pendulum action kind of chafes upon his inner thighs, swishing this way and that.

If he senses no threats, he will look over the wooden beam. If it appears in decent shape he will move to the next wooden beam southwards, to McCoy the U.S.'s left, but if not he will follow "Hook Hand's" advice and move to the eastern wall.

Ambergris

Intrigued by the temple room, he studies a minute then decides that our torch bearing 'McCoy' might have blown any surprise.

So act natural!

At least, Ambergris tries to ham up how a black robed necro-cultist might naturally act.

"Cor .. by Myrkul and Bane, who do we have here? Blood for the blood god, Bhaal." he announces his presence to the chained man, taking a few wading steps towards the drier steps. He turns looking back over his shoulder to the unseen servant, muttering to it.

"Necro-mites, might one day become really powerful and necro-lights, like you McCoy might one day radiate upon the glorious abattoirs and necro-tites, well they hang on tight, see! Like that fellow over there. Hang on."

He chunters and mutters, apparently to the garbed servant, all the while prodding ahead with his spear to check unsafe ground or traps on the steps.

Lesh
He sees Tommy crouch down by pillar #3 (counting clockwise from the top) and watches Ambergris speaking to the chained man and McCoy. As the U.S. begins to move forward he uses it as cover to move up to pillar #4. Once safely behind the pillar he takes a deep breath and lowers himself beneath the surface of the water swimming quietly as close as he can to the steps on the northern side.

OC: RACIAL TRAITS
Hold Breath (VGtM)
You can hold your breath for up to 15 minutes at a time.

Altar of Bane > Surprises For Everyone!

Draped in the garb of the necromite, "McCoy" floats on ahead "climbing" the stairs toward the landing. Opposite the unseen servant is Ambergris, dressed in similar garb and following along, chuntering and muttering, apparently to McCoy, while also prodding ahead with his spear to check for possible traps.
"Cor .. by Myrkul and Bane, who do we have here? Blood for the blood god, Bhaal." he announces his presence to the chained man, taking a few wading steps towards the drier steps.

Rough-hewn steps rise out of the murky water to the western portion of the room, which is dry and lit by two torches in sconces that flank a stone altar. Shackled to the wall behind the altar is a sickly man in a loincloth with a burlap sack over his head. An alcove in the north wall contains a freestanding suit of plate armor missing its helm.

"Necro-mites, might one day become really powerful and necro-lights, like you McCoy might one day radiate upon the glorious abattoirs and necro-tites, well they hang on tight, see! Like that fellow over there. Hang on."

Suddenly, an arrow pierces through the "body" of McCoy which disrupts the spell and surprises everyone...including the woman who shot the arrow! The torch falls to the floor and bounces into the water and fizzles, but there is enough light in the room to reveal the the source of the arrow and Ambergris quite clearly.

The woman looks powerfully built. She drops her bow and arms herself with a mace and a wooden shield with a leering skull painted on it...in fresh blood. Her chainmail clinks as she walks. "How did you get in here?" she hisses, looking at Ambergris.

"Yeah, how did you get in here?" this from a man who stands up from behind the altar. The man is even bigger than the woman and wears chainmail and a bucket helmet. He holds a bloodied spear, cocked and ready to throw; another spear lies atop the altar.

"Necromite, you are in the wrong place," the woman hisses again. "You should have stayed with your friends."
She begins to advance toward Ambergris...and the man looks ready to throw that spear at any moment.

Ambergris

Doesn't think he can intimidate either of these warrior types, dressed for battle and violence.

"My pardon, I meant no harm. No hand even. How do I light my way now?" he says raising his left hook hand and gesticulating wildly with it.

With his back to the suit of armour, it makes sense to use the plate mail as a shield, while not a complete defence it may halt a thrown spear. So he squeezes behind the suit if he can, just his head sticking over the top.

His hook-hand semantics and some extra verbal glossalalia are actually the precursor to invoking a spell, should the woman close to melee him.

Ambergris initiative [1d20+2]=15+2=17

Ambergris invokes Arms of Hadar spell [2d6]=5 damage.

Hearing voices Lesh tenses and begins to ready a spell, when Tommy releases an eldritch blast he bursts up from the water with a roar and lunges halfway up the steps. Invoking the The Great Guide he casts Guiding Bolt at the woman.

Guiding Bolt (PHB pg. 248)
A flash of light streaks toward a creature of your choice within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 4d6 radiant damage, and the next attack roll made against this target before the end of your next turn has advantage, thanks to the mystical dim light glittering on the target until then.

Altar of Bane - Even More Surprises!

Initiative Order: Ambergris (17), Tell (12), Tommy (8), Banites (6)

Gesticulating wildly with his hook hank, Ambergris maneuvers behind the suit of armor, having to push it slightly out of the way in the process. As he squeezes behind the armor, he also invokes the power of Hadar, the Dark Hunger...and waits. He doesn't have to wait long as the armor shudders and the gauntlets detach and float about in the air! They float about and punch at Ambergris, but do not hit him.
Gauntlets: [1d20+3]=4+3=7, [1d8+1]=1+1=2
When they attack, purple tendrils erupt from his body, lashing out at the flying gauntlets.
Gauntlet save: [1d20+1]=14+1=15
Does this beat your DC?

While the sea captain is fighting against magical flying gauntlets, Lesh bursts from the water with a roar and lunges halfway up the steps. Invoking The Great Guide, he sends a bolt of white light, streaking toward the woman. But she cries out to Bane and lifts her shield, deflecting the bolt into the ceiling.
She laughs and takes a step toward Lesh...but then a crackling blast of eldritch energy from Tommy knocks her backward! (Dmg 14? The spell says it does 1d10 dmg; am I missing something?)

She cries out in pain and anger, "Kill the lizard!" and then she charges Tommy's position. Leaping into the water, she swings her mace with deadly accuracy!

The armored man behind the altar, leaps atop it and hurls a spear at Lesh, and somehow, the shaman turns at the last moment, and the spear careens away, doing no damage. Yignath's attack: [1d20+5]=12+5=17, [1d6+3]=4+3=7

Actions!
No updated map > Ambergris is fighting flying armored gauntlets, while Tommy is battling a crazed woman and Lesh is counting his blessings for his natural armor.
