Mole-man Mungo thinks the worm-like things might turn out to be edible. "Spit, well roasted, and with an oil, salt, and hot peppers dipping sauce." Then he realizes making a fire in Sleestak City won't work. He tries to bring his smith hammer down on one of the wriggling things' head.

Not sure he can do much but try to dissuade the creature from latching in to him with a long sticky toad tongue. He doesn't fancy being swallowed whole or even parcelled up between them.
If I can shoot the phaser at the creature I will, then I will submerge to sink to the cavern floor and out of the many eyed vision of the toads-creature. He phaser doesn't seem to like the water it seems.
Finver steps toward the writhing creatures and swipes a wide arc with the glowing dagger. His desperate attack nearly slices off Fiefo's ear if he was any closer.

The adventurers peer over the rock ledge and suddenly a den of writhing sand eels lunge at their eyes! Ghastly mouths of rowed teeth bite and affix themselves onto the faces of Fiefo, Finver and Maskelyn! (4hp, 3hp and 4hp damage respectively!)
Unable to attack them with scimitar or staff, else risk injury to themselves, Fiefo and Maskelyn instinctively hack and hammer other repulsive serpents around them, killing one and wounding another! Draupadi smashes to death a third one with her mace!
Finver staggers off the ledge onto the sand, his aim spoiled by the horrific squirming thing attached to his cheek! Connak scrabbles up the cliff behind Finver and beholds the nest of bloodthirsty sand eels!
Actions?!
Before Yul can switch weapons and fire, one of the Toad Hydra's bloated heads launches a grotesque tongue at him that adheres to his torso!
Yul's Crossbow of the Gods shrills in a flash of cold starlight, but his aim is ruined! The cyborg cowboy desperately tries to submerge but cannot escape!
The disturbance of hissing, inhuman voices on the shore swells. And the hideous tongue begins to draw him toward its immense, fang-filled jaws!
Actions?!

Mungo is aghast at what has happened to Fiefo, Finver and Maskelyn. "Figures that the regular Sleestaks and the ghoulish Sleestaks would have this kind of thing living with them," he thinks. He tries to land a blow of his smithing hammer on one of the nasty wriggling things.

Once wrapped up in the tongue he fires towards the gaping mouth of the creature but the turmoil of being lassoed by a tongue and wrangled into a maw looks a grim fate.
I rolled for both as I wasn't sure if the phaser worked under water or not and I might have noticed it being dampened or washed out ineffective last time.
He closes his eyes from the radiant dagger and stabs at the wrigling creature desperately trying to remove it without doing additional harm to himself. His only lucid thought, perhaps, is to cut it in half or slice it along its body enough to deter its attack.

Ko-Nan's head is on a swivel as hears the sounds of battle from above. He climbs up the wall to continue his onslaught against the filth of this realm.

(Not an entirely accurate depiction)
Trapped by the hideous tongue of the colossal toad-hydra, Yul fires his magic crossbow wildly!
The mounting clamor on the shore of the Sleestak city is suddenly silenced as the cyborg cowboy and the monstrous amphibian submerge into the depths of the subterranean lake!
The gigantic tongue draws Yul inexorably toward its vast, fanged mouth and it bites him deep across the torso! (8hp damage!)
Actions?!
Meanwhile in the cave of the sand eels, Ko-Nan peers over the rock ledge and beholds a frightful sight! More heinous maws of fangs attach to the faces of Connak and Mungo! (1hp and 4hp damage respectively!)
A writhing, ravenous eel is fastened beneath Fiefo's eye, drinking his blood! (-2hp!) The ratman cannot grab hold of the wriggling horror to cut it in half!
Maskelyn shrieks in terror and grabs the head of the sand serpent burrowed deep into the flesh of his cheek, consuming his lifeblood! (-3hp!) He pulls it off with both hands, tearing open his face (-2hp), and passes out, falling from the cliff into the water below! SPLASH!
Finver hacks at the rapacious snake devouring his life essence! (-1hp) His dagger cuts but does not kill! Bloated with the dwarf's blood, the parasitic worm sprays a deluge of crimson!
Unable to safely target their own faces, Connak and Mungo reflexively swing at the nearest squirming creatures! Revulsion ruins the catman's aim but Mungo hammers one to death!
And with her mace, Draupadi bludgeons another of the revolting eels into oblivion!

Finver groans in pain while clutching the eel still locked onto his face with one hand. He sheathes his illuminated dagger, and grasps the writhing eel with two hand in an attempt to crush the creature's head. "Not... tha... beard... ya foul lowlife!"

Mungo sees Maskelyn slide/bounce/fall down the ledge into the water. By Verne and Welles! he cries. Two of his phobias at the same time-- heights and water. He shudders a little (the strange way, to other folk that mole-kind shudder), climbs down/jumps/slides as fast as he can down the ledge, rushing to get the gnome mage's head above water.
