[LFP] Tomb of Horrors now recruiting!

I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.

If I may, I'd like to get on the waiting list. I'm relatively new to playing 1e, but figure by the time I actually make it in I'll have some more experience. Anyway, I can probably die horribly as well as the next guy already.

Thanks,
ChubbyPixie.

Dying horribly in this module is a badge of geek honor!
:)
You're on the wait list... which (if Party 2 doesn't speed up their character generation) might get utilized quicker than we thought!

As the undetermined character materializes in front of the tomb, a gigantic bolt of blue lightning comes down from the sky...
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Always wanted to do Tomb of Horrors, so if there's a waiting list to be put on, thanks for adding me and I'll start looking into character creation ahead of time. Gotta get some gaming on this 2013!

Thanks! BTW, any guess how long it would likely be until I might join in? Not rushing, just so I don't dawdle and not have a character ready when it happens!

Cheers!

I don't want to guess as I'm a co-DM for this meat grinder.
But the other waitlisters have started prepping characters. :)

Seriously though, we'll be off the ground and running in the next day or three, and then it all depends on:
1. When the first death happens;
2. How quickly they can get out to pick you up.

It could be a matter of days where this module is concerned, but I'm expecting (with the preparedness and caliber of players we have here) you probably have a few weeks.

The Tomb of Horrors campaign has room for two players who want to take over existing characters. All players on the current waiting list have been offered these characters and passed (or not responded), so I'm opening the characters up to anyone who wants to take them over.

The characters are Fosco the Thief and Malibran the Cleric. Malibran is ready to go right now. Fosco will need to be re-rolled because the character sheet was accidentally deleted. And he'll start at -23 HP. Perfect for a player who wants a challenge. ;)

Please pm me if you're interested!

I'l take the thief, as I'm already playing a cleric in two other games.

The two characters have been spoken for, but there's room for more on the waitlist.

We have room for one more body for permanent residence in the Tomb of Horrors. Malibran the Monk needs a new possessor. Inquire within.

Or just, y'know, post or send me a pm.

I haven't journeyed into Tomb of Horrors since High School (~ '87). Color me interested. Could you send me or provide a link to the character sheet of said monk?

Looks good to me. Once I have access, give me some time to read the posts on what has already past and then I will jump in.

It is filled with terrible traps and not a few strange and ferocious monsters to slay the unwary. It is filled with rich treasures both precious and magical, but in addition to the aforementioned guardians, there is said to be a demi-lich who still wards his final haunt (Be warned that tales told have it that this being possesses powers which make him nearly undefeatable). Accounts relate that it is quite unlikely that any adventurers will ever find the chamber where the demi-lich Acererak lingers, for the passages and rooms of the Tomb are fraught with terrible traps, poison gases, and magical protections. Furthermore, the demi-lich has so well hidden his lair, that even those who avoid the pitfalls will not be likely to locale their true goal. So only large and well-prepared parties of the bravest and strongest should even consider the attempt, and if they do locate the Tomb, they must be prepared to fail. Any expedition must be composed of characters of high level and varied class. They must have magical protections and weapons, and equip themselves with every sort of device possible to insure their survival.

So what system is this exactly? Whoa 2 parties are you crazy lol
