Return to the Barrow Mounds:
Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
Orgoth
"Not concerned with town at the moment. He was alive, but curled in the corner shaking in fear. Looks like he survived the fall at least. Should we tie up the others before they wake up and try running off to their death again?"

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
Sven looks at the rope in Orgoths hand.
“Good idea. Might as well put that thing to some use.”
Sven keeps a sharp eye and ear out for anything coming to investigate the ruckus while his partner ties up the sleepers legs.
“Maybe a gag would be in order, in case they still want to scream?”

Barrow Maze.
Exploring the corridors.
8.12pm. Candlelight (Sven).
The indefatigable duo remain standing, considering their options. Isvand looked more bruised than bloodied, shaking in fear. Then the pit doors closed over him. Gerdal and Amos managed to flee to almost the tapestry room before being snared by the sleep spell effect which made them comatose and crash to the floor in their flight for freedom and they are in a heap at the top of the corridor.
You both walk up to them, discussing what next.
Surely you cannot continue to remain undetected.
What next? Happens! From the second door (O), several figures exit, attracted by all the noise going on. I mean, it is enough to wake the dead. You see these fellows in the north corridor.
Actions please.

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
Sven motions to Orgoth that they could quietly drag the sleepers into the tapestry room if there is time before the skeletons arrive.
If there isn’t time, he shrugs, open for suggestions.

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
Snatch and grab: Sven & Orgoth [1d6]=5 Skeletons [1d6]=5
You can grab a character each and drag them into the tapestry room but closing the door will be contested as a strength vs overbearing situation.

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
I assume that means the skeletons had already spotted us?
Here is Svens roll to aid with the door, if necessary.
Strength Check (7) [3d6]=10

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
yes. The skeletons are forty feet approx away by the two doors in the north corridor and see you almost immediately. So you can grab the sleeping duo into the tapestry room and brace the door or engage in a melee though overwhelming numbers are not in your favour.
The duo will sleep for three more rounds unless woken earlier, though they may still be subject to the fear effect.

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
Orgoth
Once inside the room Orgoth tried to hold the door shut.
"This is not going well, can you wake the others well I try and hold the door?"
Not sure what to roll here.

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
Just working it out now ...
You both grab a pair of legs, drag the comatose duo into the tapestry room and shut the door in the face of a grinning mob of undead skeletons.
They bash in the door, pushing, kicking, hacking. You both brace it in return. Orgoth goes into Hodor mode.
roll me three [1d100+35] I will compare this to my rolls. If skeletons wins, they break through the door.

Holds on for all he is worth.

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
Unsure what else he can do other than risk awakening his panicked cleric, Sven relies once again on his magic as a last ditch effort.
He casts his Enlarge spell on Orgoth, hoping the 20% boost in size is enough to keep the door closed a bit longer.
1st Level Spell Retention (INT 15) [4d6+1]=16+1=17

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:

Barrow Maze.
Battle of the (former) tapestry room.
8.13pm. Candlelight (Sven).
Caught short, the duo brace themselves for what seems an inevitable conclusion. The clerics not around, two warriors elsewhere, not even the leaping squires for comfort.
The door is hacked, pushed and barged by the skeletons. Braced against it and pushing with all his might, Orgoth keeps them at bay temporarily while Sven sorts through his pouches and mind for inspiration. He casts Enlarge, thankful for the earlier rest in this room which provides what turns out to be a game changer. (Literally).
The 235lb half orc warrior increases in mass and size as arcane steroids bulge his biceps and bulk him out incredibly. Now a raging bull of 280lbs+
here is my edited consequences: I modified the opposed rolls with a +/- per full 10% weight difference. Assessing 7 skeletons weigh approx 210lbs vs Orgoth at 235lbs. So gave a +10% weight allowance. Now the extra enlarged mass 282lbs will give your roll totals another +20% .
So, for the first three rounds of hacking and pushing, Orgoth holds the door.
Amos and Gerdal awake as the sleep duration ends. They scream, seeing a larger than life Orgoth blocking the door and their exit.
After a minute they calm. Next actions and three more [1d100+50] opposed rolls please. Irrespective, the door will be broken through by the end of the fourth round as the skeletons hack their way through the wood barrier.

Orgoth
Still trying to hold on.
Hold Door [1d100+50]=11+50=61 [1d100+50]=54+50=104 [1d100+50]=91+50=141
Once they are through, he grabs his silver spear and attacks.
Initiative [1d6]=3
Magic Silver Spear [1d20+1]=11+1=12 to hit [1d6+3]=2+3=5 damage
Rolls from before, does not include any bonuses from the spear or Enlarge spell.

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
so just to bring some transparency. I computed the method of opposed rolls, skeletons bashing the door vs party defending.
Then rolled when I should have waited for Sven's actions which as in the case of Enlarge, actually modified your results further. I then scripted an update prior to Sven's actions and mistakenly posted it in error rather than stored it as a draft.
In my unedited post I called for initiative and subsequently rolled this for the creatures and their attacks, which may have resulted in a near tpk.
I then realised I needed to wait as obviously Sven's actions could preempt, stall or make obselete the unedited post.
So: Orgoth hold the door x 3 (ooh! first roll doesn't look good
)
Sven gives some explanation to Gerdal & Amos and makes any preparation necessary for the impending attack.
The skeletons are coming in sooner or later ...
Skeletons vs Orgoth x 3 rounds [1d100+30]=3+30=33 [1d100+35]=81+35=116 [1d100+40]=27+40=67
Two rounds later the door shatters into splinters and the skeletons surge in.
If you don't mind, I am going to call for a completely new initiative and set of attacks.
Sven, Orgoth Gerdal & Amos actions please.

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:

Orgoth falls back when the door is breached, grabs his Silver Spear and attacks.
Initiative [1d6]=4
Magic Silver Spear [1d20+3]=18+3=21 to hit [1d6+7]=5+7=12 damage
Does not include the Silver Spears magic bonuses if it has any.

Re: Return to the Barrow Mounds:
Gerdal gasps in fear and casts entangle trying to catch as many skeletons as simply possible, lest they will reach her. I think there were roots and wines coming down walls and roofs so it should be possible.
"Get away from me demon!"
There's only the candlelight now but Gerdal can see well thanks to Harkazz.
will hold retention roll until I see that the spell goes off
by the way, what timezone are you in? I'm in Central Europe time, so 6-8 hours away from Canada/NA etcetera. seems like a lot of action happens as I sleep
