It seems unlikely either Jess or Gaughan will leave the front line until immobilised. Sergeants don't abandon their troopers or officers in action, the poor devils would get into a terrible mess.Leitz wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 10:40 am I don't know how many wounded are in sickbay, and who could be brought back to the line. If Jess and Gaughan can take over sickbay and build the fall back position Jakob could run to his room, get into combat armor, and get into the fight. He does have a goodly supply of grenades.![]()

Current locations in gardens:
SW doorway: Frank, Jess, Kit, Beau
SE doorway: Charlie, Baker, Mike, Kingy
Inside: Prerna, Easy
Freya is to the south with Freddie and Dog,. We could recall Dog and/or Freddie to help as Freya is in minimal danger with the guards around.
Is this right?

Okay, the "Crickey Map" shows a lot of one floor. Tiglath, is the sickbay on this floor/map? If so, where?
If we have two, or more, concentrations of force then establishing clear and safe lines between them is helpful. Not top priority, but very helpful. The real downside is that we don't have the bodies to easily clear and secure the entire place. We have sickbay to protect, as well as the diplomats and various functionaries. If we establish a "rear area" with sickbay and non-combatants, that might reduce operational load.
For note, Jakob has Medic-1 and Int-C. Liv has Medic-0 and awesome bedside manner. Jakob will happily go where directed, but someone needs to be running the sickbay. Otherwise injuries and morale can become worse.

Reasonable summary of injured (but not locations) can be found here:
viewtopic.php?p=533752#p533752
To that add light wounds for Freya and Baker. Have I missed anyone else?
If Jakob looks after sickbay he can also help Voss manage those guarding the dips and the pirate prisoners
edit: medical is behind the Purser's office near the leftmost purple door on the Crickey Map

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
I'll try to fill in blanks as I see them/oil the wheels of the thought machine...
The "third man" (armed with a gating laser (HMG equivalent) so you do want to locate him) must be located so as to cover the gaps in the coverage og "Red" and "Green" on shaidar's very useful diagram.
You do know:
he likely needs to be able to cover both the "blindspots" due south of his buddies
he is north of Prerna (not much help) but didn't have a clean shot at her on the snack room stairs and only engaged her when she got to the top
a gatling laser is a support weapon and might need a grav harness/ground mount and some cover
since you believe the waterfall is significant he may also need to guard that

Jakob and the "Crickey Map"
Look at the lower pool room and find the circular FOUNTAIN look east/right of this into the next geomorph square over.
This is "Officer Country".
Next to the lift in the top NW corner is the PURSERs office between the orange and purple marked hatches. Just west/left of this the two "coffin???" shaped beds denote the MEDBAY.
Jakob and Liv are here!
There are opportunities to outflank the SWIMMING POOL area via the DIplomat/VIP geomorph to the north (through the purple marked hatches).

Tiglath,
Can you confirm that the enemy in the spa does have his LOS obstructed by the adjacent spa?

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Taken a bit of a guess, trying to work back from the fact there was no LOS on the stairs.
This leaves 2 areas, NW corner and NNE area as shown below:
Tiglath, what are the circles with dots in? Do they block LOS.
Here are my two best guesses in yellow and purple:

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
No. He can see clear across this they are (steamy) pools set flush with ground level.
As to spot the ball support weapon. In fairness I'll show my working for my comment about the stairs because it is open to interpretation. The gunner fired at the optimum target but this was only at the top of the stairs. For me this means he had no clear shot as targets were going up so he must be NW. i.e. he only (very briefly) sees Prerna and Easy over the top of the snack bar at the stair's top.
As per the Spa LOS deckchairs can be ignored. As you have identified the laser needs to cover the areas on both ends of the line of deck chairs (and through them). Sooo, if you shunt "Yellow" above to the west... and then adjust for trees...

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
So you mean move yellow to the left by 3 squares to the bunch of trees on the other side of waterfall, by the palm tree.
I'd thought of that but discarded it because it has clear sight to the stairs, and the two entrances, but I didn't account for the height of the snack bar, d'oh.
I'll put together another graphic a bit later.

As an addendum to the smoke discussion. The enemy can see it and knowing it to be an obscuration device have to then decide whether to fire into it - hoping to either inflict casualties or to interdict the space to movement by saturating it with fire. If they don't do this they have to accept that their opponents have likely moved through it to wherever they want to be - like deadground/blindspots.
However, opening fire is the guaranteed method of revealing your position to the enemy and so here lies the rub. IF you have someone capable of observing the enemy reaction to an event and you are forcing that reaction then you are ahead of the game.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
In the modern era commanders are very keen to use snipers to "spot" things.
I believe the chances of actually getting to shoot folk are really quite slim!
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Hmmmm, the only sniper options would be the NE doorway or possibly by the SE doorway in the southern garden area.
The idea of the smoke is to get them to focus on it and fire, because we'll be coming from somewhere else. I see your point about getting them to reveal their location, which we've currently made a guess at. But if we have people in place ready to move on the approximate location, then they'll hopefully see them fire and have an exact location to act against.

Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Yes (and since you are now so close) if you move it four along and then pull it down/south three into the southernmost tree you can cover both the approaches from the hatches and the junctions (thereby partially securing the flanks from advances from east & west). This also mutally supports the Red guy in the spa (with his LMG) and the Green Grenadier.
Re: "Endgame: OOC Planning Discussion"
Thanks Tig, you're a gent.
