I will be updating the original plot hooks, once y'all have returned to Threshold.

Re: OOC IV
Sorry, don't mean to interrupt the voting on Lanny's plan. Here is the XP for defeating the Giant Stinging Nettle and subduing 19 giant bees:
Nettle: 650 XP
Giant Bees: 114 XP
Total: 764 XP
8 PCs, 1 henchman yields 17 half-shares. 44.94 XP per half share. Semele gets 44.94 XP, the PCs each receive 89.88, to be modified by any XP bonus from ability scores.

Re: OOC IV
the idea of a master plan to give us some direction is a great one. My worry is that we can not set the plan in stone because there are so many things that seem to come up in this adventure that we may want to change our course of action. There is going to be another plot hook with Al coming, and we may decide to bite.
I will vote yet on the plan that Lanny came up with as long as everyone uses the plan in a flexible way.

Marodin is ok with the plan for now. Like Innana said, we need to be flexible.
But this is a great job. Kudos to Frobozz for the hard work!

Absolutely, great points. The only thing we are really voting on right now is what to do next (whether to return to Threshold, or do something else). I just wanted to show (via an itinerary) that we would not be abandoning these other quests by returning to Threshold, just prioritizing them and putting them into a chronological order that makes sense for our group. And you're right, Alethan's entrance may introduce yet another possible plot hook that we may want to pursue, so flexibility is key.sulldawga wrote:Marodin is ok with the plan for now. It's not a Hammer of Thunderbolts, by any chance, is it?Alethan wrote:Oh, ho, ho! You guys think your so smart! New character comes with a new plot hook, huh?

A guy can dream, can't he?
As long as we're dreaming, feel free to place a Girdle of Giant Strength and Gauntlets of Ogre Power nearby.
Re: OOC IV
Bregalad the elf
Great plan, Lanny. Thanks for trying accommodate the group's different desires. Starting by going back to Threshold sounds good!
Also, Bregalad is really going to look for anything that could help improve his chances for survival in combat, i.e. magical armor, hit point or protection spells, etc. He really needs some sort of boost! So, if the opportunity arises, he hopes the group would be flexible in adding that to the itinerary.
Thanks.
And Saul and Innana, thank you for sharing your drawings. I love them! We have a talented team!

Re: OOC IV
Sounds like a good plan. Threshold it is...plus the horses could use a good cleaning at the stables.
Re: OOC IV
A couple items of housekeeping:
1. Did we ever get that holy water that was being prepared for us in Jessup? If not, perhaps we can check on that in the morning before we depart Jessup.
2. I think I forgot to respond to Marodin's post on the first aid kit division. If we divide them up evenly by the top 4 healers as he suggested, it will be: Marodin-3, Semele-3, Lanny-3, Thordin-3. Each kit weighs 15 cn.

@ Alethan: My dad used to take me with him on summer's and I'd help out sanding and doing small repairs. Hard work but fun, love the smell of wood and turning a rough bit of wood into something silky smooth.
Still help him out sometimes but it's rare as there isn't a lot of work nowadays, people just buy something new when the old furniture breaks, so he tends to get it all done himself.
Got it in my mind I should build a guitar, wound up finding the perfect guitar (my pride and joys, if you're interested), kept the desire to make something but when I finally found something cool to build I couldn't just get in a store (a lap steel guitar) I lost my job. Frustrating but better days will come.
Funny that you mention boxes, a friend gave me a few thousand Magic cards (mostly commons) and I looked into making a box for a cube I made out of them (it's like making your own block and people draft from it, really fun). Wound up deciding on making it out of cardboard when I realised I'm still trying to figure out just how many cards I want in it and I'd like it to look like the box was made to fit. Couple more months and I might just have enough player input to say it's finally done. I'll remember to post a pic when it's done if you're interested.
EDIT: I'd love to see your boxes and some of your blades. If there's something we Portuguese love it's a fine blade happy in it's home... only better place is in our hand when we're cutting any of our sausages.
Wait, that sounded wrong

The easiest way to see what I'm up to or what I've been doing is just to take a look at my blog.
http://thekiltedwoodworker.com/
I do have a small gallery page on the site (http://thekiltedwoodworker.com/gallery/) but I'm highly neglectful of it; I don't think I have but a few boxes pictured there.
I also keep a flickr site where you can see more detailed shots of some of my projects. But that also includes some tool restorations I've done (which seems to be what I've done more of lately, rather than actually making boxes). http://www.flickr.com/photos/8967894@N06/sets
Unfortunately, I never seem to have a lot of leisure time after I finish a box. It's finished, packaged, and out the door in a rush to some wedding or celebration (the two main reasons why someone orders a sgian dubh box from me), so I don't ever have much time to photograph it the way I'd like. I'm working on a jewelry box for my wife right now. I'll be able to post some pictures of it when I'm done, though it won't be demonstrative of my typical work. (Not saying it will be BAD... just different than my normal work.)

Re: OOC IV
Busy day, again. Had a brief look at the IC thread; I assume you guys know that incidental costs like meals and lodging are still being covered by the initial cost of living, right? The conversation was simply for role-playing, I assume?
Re: OOC IV
Yeah, just having some fun with what appears to be a running joke about wealthy, gem-carrying adventurers having to continue to borrow money from each other for incidental expenses because they have no coins on them. Perhaps we took it a bit too far, but I honestly could not stop laughing at the Lanny-Saul exchange.thirdkingdom wrote:Busy day, again. By the way, Lanny is still interested in learning Invisibility, but I am not sure there will be a source available from which he can study it (assuming that Drudsa is scribing Magic Missile from Gan the Lonesome's spellbook to his own spellbook). If all else fails, Lanny will resume his magical studies once the party returns to Threshold and he can visit the library of Myraal the Guild Mage (unless anyone else has any other suggestions).

@ TK yeah, I figured we were safe but played along with Frobozz and Bouv went along for the ride
Frobozz said it best, we're carrying six diamonds and 2 of us are flat broke for all intents and purposes

Tratiln just doesn't want a horde of women to descend upon the party all clammoring for blood because on member has a sly tongue! And he finds it a bit facsinating at the same time, just how quickly he moves from one to another.
Re: OOC IV
Well, when you put it like that should Saul start checking for crabs in his beard? How are the ladies of Threshold and Jessup in terms of personal hygiene? Do we need the Book of Sex or the Book of Unlawful Carnal Knowledge for this campaign?has a sly tongue

Saul is merely a fan of the female company, nothing more.
Would be fun if he got into trouble though. The innkeeper's daughter is not my lover, she's just a girl who think's that I am the one but the kid is not my son.

Would be fun to disprove paternity in a setting like this.
